If you are looking for something different than the mass produced, chemically enhanced, over marketed wines we usually find in the area, head over to Turiya and sample some of winemaker Angela Soleno’s offerings. She has a unique vision for what she wants to produce, and has the fortitude(and patience) to wait for it to happen. Her motto could very well be «We will sell no wine before its time» as she barrel-ages her wines much longer than the industry average. Arrived at the tasting room/winery to meet friends and sample. The winery is located inside the Scott Winery tasting room so look closely for the Turiya sign. Angela was offering a couple of barrel tastings before the main event. I can’t wait or the ’15 Malbec to mature. Only 9 months in the barrel, and it shows amazing flavor. We sampled a Petit Verdot and a Sangiovese from about 2011. So good! However, the best was yet to come. Angela broke out 3 blends from 2009: Golden God, Hither, and my favorite, Shapeshifter. You can tell from each of these that Angela truly cares about her wines and has a passion for them. Thanks for an amazing experience, Angela!

I was at a fundraiser in Seal Beach and I thought her wines were amazing! In fact, once I tasted the Petite Verdot, I stopped tasting others! You can taste the care she takes to make each bottle! I loved it! I ordered it! It’s worth it!

Angela is a wine genius, her wines are raw, personal and very poetic. I have never tasted a bad wine of hers and shame on Unilocal for not posting her positive reviews!

Love her wines! Bold, alive, great taste, tremendous cellaring promise. I look forward to watching the evolution of Angela’s products. I love a strong woman making a stand and producing a great product with pasdion. The Good: what’s in the bottle and her zeal. The Bad(what can be changed): use screwcaps because tree bark goes bad too often The Ugly(what cannot be changed): the drive to Lompoc.

What a wonderful experience! It’s clear, that not only is Angela a dedicated wine-maker, but she’s a total butt-kicker who’s lived an incredible and interesting life. Beyond the unique flavors of her wine(we ended up buying two bottles that we’re looking forward to saving for a special occasion) she’s just straight-up smart and cool. My wife and I felt immediately comfortable, even though her space is somewhat tucked away inside of another store. We loved hearing about her technique, and we expect her business to continue growing based on our experience with her. If you’re in the area, this is a «must book».

Cannot say enough amazing things about Angela and her wines. I wish I could give her more stars. We were wine tasting at Tyler wines yesterday and thats where we met Angela. Come to find out she was the owner and wine maker for Turiya. She invited us back to her tasting room and let me tell you, we had an amazing time! Not only is she an amazing person, but her wines are incredible. You can absolutely tell she puts her heart and soul into her wines and the process. She even let us taste wines straight from the barrel that are not going to be released until 2016. We will definitely be back to visit her and her wines! Cant wait for her next release!

Turiya Wines, Great Wine, the 2008 Syrah is probably the best Syrah I have ever tasted, ever, anywhere. There is simply no comparison. The winemaker/owner, Angela, makes limited quantities of very high quality wines and will probably become part of the Santa Barbara County wine making legend. Because of the limited production, you won’t find this wine at your usual distribution channels so call and make an appointment to taste, you will not be disappointed. She is a fantastic host and perfectly willing to share her wine making«secrets». I was lucky enough to sample Turiya at a local wine/food event and then made a visit to the Turiya Barrel Room /Tasting Room. The winemaker will scramble around on the barrels and provide tasting from what is in the queue now. My visit was so fun and I left with with some treasured wine. Worth the trip!

I went to visit my family in California and decided to go wine tasting. I’ve had a lot of wines from around the world and have been in the business for over 25 years and THESE wines are some of the best I’ve tasted to date. I made an appointment with Angela, the owner and winemaker, and she was very accommodating. She sampled wines straight from the barrel and explained things that even I didn’t know. She finished with a sample of bottled wine, her SYV Cabernet Sauvignon which I HAD to take home with me. The experience overall was intoxicating
