Been back twice since the new owners took over… Sadly, the food has slid a bit, the pastrami was kinda ordinary,(Altho the roll still beats all) turkey cranberry also average, not something I have previously paid $ 7 for… Seems like they were out of several breads and items, and it was only 1230 midweek… Not sure what’s up but several friends have experienced this downward spiral.

There is no skimping or counting slices at this deli. Portions are large inexpensive and yummy. There was about a 10 min wait for 4 sandwiches during their busy lunch hour, staff was extremely friendly and quick. Not much seating as this a very small place and they only have Coke product but all in all, definitely worth a visit.

Ssoooo disappointed in the place! Was looking for places in town that have yummy, fresh made soups & this deli was one of several places suggested… someone had even raved about the potato soup from here! When I walked in, I could see that it was just a very small, plain, basic deli. They had a chalk board listing the various meats, cheeses, breads, etc for make-your-own sandwiches, a few titles of «specialty» sandwiches, & another board listing things like chips, potato salad, etc. The soup board read«POTATOSOUP» as the daily choice & I got REALLY excited because of the person who had given it 100 stars when suggesting it… I absolutely LOVE soup & can eat 2x a day, every day! So, I ordered 2 large containers thinking that I’d have meals for the rest of the week! Well… MYFAULT for I guess not asking to see or sample this«soup…» because what I opened up when I got home, was NOT soup!!! It’s cooked chunks of potato w/MAYBE a teaspoon of cream… & a teaspoon might even be pushing it!!! I’ll attach some pics to show this hot mess! In one of the pics, I am nearly holding the container upside down, to show how«un-soupy» it is!!! I’m very disappointed! Along w/the 2 containers of cooked potatoes I bought, I also ordered a ½ of their«dressed turkey» sandwich & asked for no tomato(because I’m allergic!!) Anyhow, when I unwrapped it @ home, the 1st thing I saw was TOMATO! THE lady who took my order wrote«NOTOM» on my paper bag before handing it off the the sandwich maker… I double checked the bag, thinking that maybe I was hallucinating… but, sure enough, the instructions were there in big bold Sharpie marker… guess the«sandwich maker» didn’t bother reading it? Anyhow, I took the tomato off & took a bite anyhow… it was a sandwich. Same thing I could have made @ home. This particular sandwich came w/lettuce, sprouts, cranberry, cream cheese, mayo, tomato, & turkey. It sounded good… but, it was meh I thought it would have been real cranberry, or if from a jar or can, have @ least some pieces of whole cranberry?!? Sadly it was just the canned, jellied cranberry Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE me some OceanSpray canned, jellied cranberry sauce… but whatever they used lacked in flavor BIGTIME!!! So, I’m guessing it was some kind of generic junk that comes in an oversized gallon tub from Smart-n-Final or something? Most of the reviews on here are pretty good… & like I said, I came here to begin w/, based on some local recommendations… I had my hopes set high b/c of the way others critiqued the place & I was let down BIGTIME!!! I’m talking, pushed flat onto my face DOWN! I asked around & found out that the original owners are no longer. They left a bit before Christmas & new people opened it up after New Years. Supposedly it was going to be the same recipes & ingredients… but, I’m going to assume that it’s not. The old owners apparently made a mean sandwich & a yummy bowl of soup… what I got today was crap!!! One star for the friendliness of the ladies working… & minus 4 stars for the tomato that could have caused me to die(LOL), for the meh/boring sandwich, & for the flavorless cups of cooked potato chunks that they call«soup!!!»

This place for sure does not get enough credit. It’s a hole in the wall, but they’re sandwiches are the perfect lunch. This is a family owned business so hours are limited and not always the same. We usually call before we decide to lunch there.

Limited hours… Hole in the wall location. Don’t let this dissuade you. This location has the best sandwiches in Lompoc, period! I’m told told that they make a mean pastrami sandwich as well, though it’s not my thing. If you need a place for a sandwich in Lompoc… This place or PJ’s deli are your best bets!

Best mom and pop deli in town! I Get the Italian hoagie at least once a week. It makes two meals! Great for a picnic at the park or beach or just grabbing lunch on the run.

Good place for sure. Only complaint I would have is that they sometimes run out of certain things and that they are only open Monday-Friday 10:30am-2pm.

My pregnant wife wanted a «good» deli sandwich, bread board did not disappoint. On the owners recommendation I got the hot pastrami, and it was amazing. My wife made her own turkey sandwich; now I’ve never been to a New York deli, but I’ve heard comedians talk about how much meat those delis use. I imagine it’s pretty close to how high they stacked her sandwich. It’s a little shop tucked away and only open a few hours a day, if that since sometimes they close early. That might be a drawback for some people, but I think it adds to the charm. What you get for the price is beyond worth it and we will definitely be going back.

Best sandwich I’ve ever had(I LOVE sandwiches and have tried many) Great prices. Fast service. Great to stop in and grab a sandwich to go, sit at a park and enjoy. I’ve lived in Lompoc for 14 years and just recently discovered the Bread Board Deli. I will not get a sandwich anywhere else!
