Got the Huevos Ranchero, it was pretty good. My husband got the chile verde burrito and he says he likes it. The food was authentic – I would return.

This is the best Mexican food in Lompoc. If you want authentic Mexican food, come here or don’t bother. Anywhere else and you might as well get Taco Bell.

Here for Taco Tuesday, Al Pastor tacos for a dollar. Asada and other typical tacos are $ 1.75 but the size of the tacos are big so it is worth it. Excellent salsa bar, get the green spicy one. Bean and chips idea is awesome. Small serving of chips though if you brought a family, ask for 2 of the chip bowls. Other than that I will be happily sitting on the toilet bowl later.

I went to Tacos El Tizon only when the other higher rated spots either weren’t open(Floriano’s) closed on Mondays after 2pm, and Angela’s didn’t look too inviting… no one in restaurant during dinner time. I found the tacos to be satisfying, carne asana were better than the pastor. Rice and beans were better than average. Ladies working were helpful. Would go back again.

They’re lengua(tongue) was so savory and juicy. They cook your meat by the order. Really authentic place and amazing burritos!

What great tacos! We stopped here on a whim and had some of the best al pastor and chorizo tacos ever! You dress them yourselves, which is nice. And at $ 1.75 each, you can’t beat them. They brought us chips and bean dip. Highly recommend.

I love their salsa bar! the green one is my favorite and is the spiciest also. After you order and choose your seat they take you nice warm beans and chips to dip which is great. I recommend the tacos, carnitas sopes, enchiladas, burro mojado, and tortas. They usually don’t take too long to give you your food.

Tacos de buche are moist and crunchy at the outer tips. It is true that the Carne Asada and Pollo is a bit dry. I only get buche, and there are few places(to include homemade and Tiajuana) that are better. The place is a hole in a wall, but last time I checked, food was meant to be eaten, not adored for its ‘presentation’ — whatever pretentious nonsense that is. The flan is also usually made fairly well. It would be a five, if they actually made real Aguas Frescas, but darn good tacos de buche is hard to come by.

The tacos are great, but I’m a fan of their breakfast burritos. Definitely worth a try!

Good tacos, I’ve had much better due to the chicken and Carne Asada being super dry. Must add salsa

While passing through Lompoc we decided to stop and get something to eat. There was a street fair or something going on and a portion of downtown was closed off so we stopped here at Tacos El Tizon. If I had the chance to do it all over again I would’ve driven past this place. We ordered 4 carne asada tacos and 1 chicken taco. All their tacos come undress which is nice because everyone can chose which salsa they want from the salsa bar. The meat was incredibly dry so the salsa and fixing were badly needed. We also ordered 3 burritos, 2 carne asada and 1 carnitas. Their burritos also come undressed which I found a bit inconvenient because it’s easier to dress a taco rather than a burrito you have to unroll and re-roll tightly. Problem here was that it was the same dry asada and the 3rd burrito which should have been carnitas was actually asada as well. Huge bummer since we didn’t discover this until we made it back to Santa Maria. Carne asada torta we didn’t order but was in our bag when we got home, we aren’t sure if we paid for it because we used credit card and only got that little receipt the card machine prints out. Also undressed and dry asada. Final verdict: Food here is mediocre. Kind of a, you cooked it at home taste, problem is when I go out to a restaurant and pay restaurant prices I expect restaurant quality.

It’s a decent place to eat here in town but certainly nowhere near amazing. I suggest eating the tacos de al pastor or a torta de asada.

This is a taco place, and a very good one at that. They have a few other things, but their best thing is tacos and their sopes. What we still can’t figure out is why anyone would go to Taco Bell when they can come here? The food is fresh. The salsa bar is decent. You get free bean dip with a few little chips. It doesn’t always come before the food there. I always add some spicy salsa for extra flavor. I only go here for basics, and a little al pastor, so I have no complaints, I just basically prefer other places more. It might be worth trying some of their other things like the 7 Mares. Service is decent. It does not measure up to places like Los Agaves, but you have to rate each restaurant for what it is. I wish there were more stars for the really top places. Also, I enjoy the bright paint colors. It totally reminds me of Mexico. And it’s typically quite clean.

First, the service was pretty good. They were nice and welcoming. However, the reason why I gave this three stars was because the food didn’t taste like how it used to. My shrimp tasted like my friend’s beef. I really suggest them cleaning their grill or something because the shrimp really disappointed me. I would go again but I felt like it was a dud for me to go that day.

I had the carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas tacos and I gotta say that they weren’t bad but were lacking in flavor. I had to add salsas and salt to them to make them better.

Unfamiliar with the area I left this one up to Unilocal and this places seemed to have mostly solid reviews and they have a «Trompo», perhaps this might be the best Lompoc has to offer? But I hate to break it to ya, this place ain’t all that… You order up front pay and are given a # to take to your table of choice/available, while waiting for your food to arrive they bring Chips & Beans chips were OK, beans didn’t have much flavor but at least they were house made and I thought the FREE beans were a nice touch *(or are they free?) they do have a help yourself salsa-bar with a variety of salsa, and onion, cilantro etc… Tacos come undressed! Tacos — I ORDERED(2) Al Pastor and(1) Carne Asada! Al Pastor —($ 1.75) Off a TROMPO… such a DISAPPOINTMENT. Not many places cook Al Pastor properly on a TROMPO, this place does and they butchered that pig, in a BAD way! either the adobo they use is weak and or they do not use enough of it, it also didn’t spend enough time on the trompo spinning around the flame, theirs no charred pieces at all, I do appreciate the pieces of pineapple but this is BADEXECUTION of Al Pastor. 1-Star Carne Asada —($ 1.75) Wait What? That’s Carnitas! this was the wife’s taco and she was not happy, she doesn’t really like Carnitas(Shhh, She’s Crazy!) after bringing this to their attention they made a correct Carne Asada taco but I was busy eating and forgot to take a photo… the wife said asada was just OK a little on the dry side 3-Stars Tacos — Alambre, Suadero y Carnitas Alambre —($ 2.50) For those not familiar with«Alambres» it a mixture of beef, pork, onions, jalapenos, bell-peppers all grilled together, often served on a plate with a side of tortillas OR as a taco and often topped with Cheese. This one had a lot of cheese so I can’t tell you exactly what was in it but it was good. 3.5-Stars Suadero —($ 1.75) Nicely cooked, good flavor BUT as you can see from the photo it was heavy on the fat pieces 2.5-Stars Carnitas —($ 1.75) This is some tasty PIG4-Stars Torta de Al Pastor(6.99) UNFORTUNATELY I picked the worst meat based off that TROMPO and ordered an overpriced Torta at $ 6.99… Telera roll was not fresh but OK, lettuce, tomato pastor and cheese… NO Beans! #FacePalm end of story! 1-Star Prices are a bit higher than what you’d pay in the LOSANGELES area! AVG: 2.5-Stars… Keepin’ it Real, You don’t deserve the bump up to 3-Stars due to your prices!

This place is HORRIBLE! It has taken forever to get my burrito! And was horribly expensive. I asked for a salsa cup. And they only would give me one and the lady was arguing with me when I said I wanted two different types of salsa! Why do I have to struggle for that with an over priced burrito! A brought a group with me of seven people. And none of us liked our burritos. One person paid $ 8 for one and she said she didn’t like it. I do not recommend coming here. Took forever to get my food and none of us left satisfied. We’re not coming here again.

Stopped here on a Saturday for lunch. I saw their specialty was Al Pastor and went for 3 tacos. I ordered a water. Total was $ 4.05 not bad at all. The meat was awesome and fresh. Great salsas and fresh lemons, cilantro, radishes and onions to top your food. Of course the stupid world cup is on so all tvs had soccer on. Food was awesome and will be back. Go Netherlands!
