As a young guy wanting to better himself, fitness and health wise, coming straight out of high school into a part time job that doesn’t pay much, Hector Escalante, the district fitness manager, made my membership as well as my physical trainer very affordable. The importance of this deal makes my trust for each physical trainer as well as the company of In Shape sky rocket. Hector informed me thoroughly that working out isn’t just lifting weights. It comes down to a science based on nutrition routines, warm up and cool down routines, and form/​technique in a passionate way. His love for fitness is incredible and I haven’t seen anything like it. I encourage everyone who isn’t satisfied with themselves to join the team! Because here at In Shape, the staff makes you feel like a friend rather than a monthly bill.

I really enjoy coming to this gym. Everything is always clean and organized and when something breaks they are quick to have it fixed. The girls in the kids club are super friendly and the couple classes I’ve taken did not disappoint.

I get to use both Santa Maria and Lompoc, which is great because I live in Santa Maria and work in Lompoc. Daycare is great for my son, without it I wouldn’t be able to workout as often. Overall Clean and great customer service.

Some of the instructors don’t understand what muscles they are working, and don’t create a balanced workout. Just because it’s hard, doesn’t make it effective!

My trainer Michelle V. is awesome. I love all of their spin classes. I enjoy Bob’s yoga classes. If you go during the day it is dead and same with weekends. Doesn’t usually get crazy busy until 5:30 or so. My only complaint is they need more diversity on the TV’s like VH1 or E. Also their saunas don’t hold heat.

Just OK. nothing top of the line here– just the basics. At a couples rate we pay 54 a month and I don’t think I would pay much more than that.

Clean Gym, great kids program with lots of activities for them to have fun with while you get your sweat on. Would give the 4 – 5 stars but there membership fee for a 30 day pass cost me 70 plus 10 for my baby, that is a little over $ 3 a day, but besides that, its a great gym.

This place can be too crowded, not good sometimes. I come here just because I need motivation since I don’t have a work out partner. When I see them working out it gives a boost. Their sauna /​steam room rules are no shoes, no work out clothes. Just because it is so unsanitary to other people, which is good. I don’t have any other place to go to for my work out so I guess I’m a fan!

I am a fan of anywhere I can get my workout on. But, just spend 5 – 10 min watchin the «trainers» here, and anyone who is knowledgable in fitness would be dissapointed. I’ve found this to be true on both the Monterey, CA and Lompoc CA locations I’ve been to. I’m not sure about the class instructors, so I won’t speak of nothing I know of since I don’t take classes. But the personal trainer quality is poor in this facility
