They have daily specials that are always changing, so you will have to check online. Shrimp Po-boy, Cubano, Rib eye steak sandwich, half pound burger for two. call ahead because they do run out. Same goes for soups. Everyday menu is Boars head meats. Try«The Smoked». I had the fish fry dinner and the 6 pieces of McNugget sized fish were tasty but not enough food for a man. Salads, deserts, key lime pie, Cheesecake, Cannoli, everything is fresh and Reasonably priced. A affiliated butcher shop next door. Pick up some knuckle bones for your dog.

Great sandwiches, reasonable prices, and hearty portions. I love that they carry boar’s head meat, so you know it’s good quality. I had a build-your-own sandwich with turkey, munster, cucumber, mustard, and oil and vinegar on focaccia. Delicious!

I had a couple of corned beef sandwiches and they were just ok. It’s not a place where they pile on the corned beef like a Jewish(or similar) deli. Lovely folks and a very nice place to eat indoors. I will be back to give this another shot. The sandwiches are a good price and come with a pickle slice and a side pasta or potato salad. The potato salad is 5 stars in my book. Next time I’m taking a pound or two home.

Our company has been recently been catering from this delicious place. I never had chicken pot pie, I now crave their pie. The cheese cake was better than the cheese cake factory . The best part is we love supporting local small business.

I’m not a local of Lombard, but due to circumstance(calamity) I found myself with some time to kill pre metra boarding. Near the the station there are a surprising number of places to choose from. This may be downtown Lombard. Shannon’s deli is a right across the the street from the ‘to Chicago’ side of the tracks and stretches for a number of storefronts. The deli is about the third door down. Inside you’ll find deli cases filled with salads and meats. Behind the counter pandemonium. The tall, middle aged gentleman running the cash register had to be the owner. He was barking orders, spilling sht, and generally barely keeping it together. At one point, he ran from behind the counter and started yelling some dudes’ name(manuel?) over and over again. Finally manuel showed up and he was told to do something urgently. I ordered the meatball sandwich and a side salad which consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes, and cheese. Both were really quite delicious. It was an amusing experience. Too bad the owner didn’t have an engish accent.

After moving away a year ago, Shannon’s Deli wins for my favorite place for soup in Illinois!(Cream of Chicken with Roasted Red Peppers and Rice soup!)

Was looking for a different place to go eat with the family and it was a nice summer day and I wanted to eat outside as well, so I went on Unilocal and discovered this deli so I had to go see for myself. At first when you walk, the atmosphere is a deli! Nothing really«restaurant» about it. Lunch meat counters, ice cream and chips are all in first eye site. I ordered the Vinnie which consists of Turkey breast, hard salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and mild giardiniera, served warm. The bread alone was nothing like I ever had before, it was so soft and just really good. The sandwich came with fries, I could only eat half the sandwich which I was excited to eat the leftovers the next day. My mom ordered the bratwurst. She was always raving about how good it was and also that it came with sauerkraut, because most places don’t have that as an option. The soups here are really good. This place is delicious, cute deli in downtown Lombard. If you haven’t been and you want something light, fresh and always a good meal. Check this place out!

My fiancé and I stopped by Shannon’s before a 20 mile bike ride. I ordered the buffalo chicken sub which was actually fantastic. It was buffalo chicken smothered in blue cheese sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was, however, taken aback by the fact the place was quite dirty. It was also unfortunate that we had to wait 20 minutes for simple sandwiches when it wasn’t really that busy. This place is an easy four/five star establishment if a few minor tweaks were implemented. The food is definitely five-star quality. The service and the environment could use some work before I can in good faith rate it higher than 3 stars.

I’ve lived in Lombard for almost two years and finally tried Shannon’s Deli, which is about 1 minute driving distance from my house. Oh how I wish I discovered it sooner! I ordered the turkey sandwich with a side of fruit. The fruit was the tastiest I’ve had in a long time, I’ve been craving it ever since. The sandwich was also really good, basic, but good. My brother got the pulled pork sandwich and said it was the best pulled pork he’s ever had, which is saying a lot. I’ll definitely be back to try more things off the menu, everything sounds delicious. Customer service is so-so. Workers seem a little stressed but did make us feel welcome once we sat down to eat. Thought about hacking a star off for the service but I loved the food so 5 stars it is.

I don’t get the hype here. I’ve probably had Shannon’s 3 or 4 times in the past couple of years. Each time the food has been decent. It was solid don’t get me wrong but nothing exactly has ever wowed me. More importantly the quality of food doesn’t justify the cost. One thing that drives me nuts is that customer service here has been kind of terrible. I know they are busy and I don’t expect them to especially cater to me but the frantic behavior by the lady behind the counter and her being so short with me, has turned me off this place. This place is better than most chain sub places but the combination of the food, cost, and customer service certainly doesn’t make this place worth it.

It makes me sad that people would rather settle for Jersey Mike’s or Jimmy John’s when they can enjoy an authentic deli sandwich from a local business at the same price. Shannon’s is my go to because I have yet to be disappointed from anything I’ve ever ordered there. They make two soups daily, but make sure to get there early because they sell out because they’re just that good. The Chicken Salad on a croissant is fabulous and the Corned Beef sandwich is the best I’ve had in the suburbs. Even their desserts like their brownies and bread pudding are great. The owner Paul is very hospitable and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in their business. They’re expanding more seating soon, so fill up the seats!

In Lombard for the day and decided to try Shannon’s Deli. What a great place for a weekday lunch. I had the Reuben, fries and a lemon bar. The sammich and fries were almost perfect. Bread was awesome, toasted perfect. Everything was in perfect proportion. The fries were perfectly done– crispy, golden, hot, perfectly salted. Yep! That good! The owner was friendly and the outdoor seating was comfortable and relaxing. There was construction going on nearby but nothing that Shannon’s Deli could have done to fix that. The only negative I could give Shannon’s was the average lemon bar. I might have high standards there, since I grew up eating the best lemon bars ever. Definitely stop by Shannon’s for a sammich and a relaxing lunch. Put the phone down, enjoy the happy patrons around you, and relax a little.

Picking up our kids from a sleepover at grandmas today, and a flyer from Shannon’s Deli was on their door. We decided to check it out for lunch. Really happy with our meal! The sandwiches are huge, you really only need a half. I always order buffalo chicken sandwiches, and the sandwich here was great. Plenty of sauce, heat, blue cheese on soft bread. The Shrimp Po Boy special was also great, as was the tortilla soup. The man behind the counter, who we assume is the owner, had the unique combination of surliness and humor. He stopped by our table a couple times to chat, which my dad ate up. He loves to chat with strangers. The owner let us know they are expanding into the space nextdoor soon, and will have more seating. We will definitely be back — want to try the Italian beef on that awesome bread.

I had a seminar this weekend in Lombard. I went ten minutes out of my way to hit Shannon’s Deli due to the outstanding reviews. Unilocal makes traveling more bearable! I arrived at 12:15 on a Saturday and was unable to get a spot on the street due to construction. So I parked on the sidewalk behind a construction sign… Whatever! I walked in and immediately realized just how small it was. Maybe eight tables, many just two-tops. It was75% full so I got in line not knowing if I would get a seat. Ordering is a bit stressful as many of the popular sandwich places are, once it’s your turn you know you have to be ready cuz there’s ten people behind you… Cursing each question you ask! I ordered the Reuben(great reviews) and a cup of hearty beef soup. After I paid I looked around and… YESSSSSS, one table left! Only problem(and probably the only reason it was open) was it was right next to the door! BRRRRRRR! So I waited a few seconds and a gentleman(later realized it was the owner) came from behind the counter carrying my soup. I watched as he ran into another customer with the arm carrying my soup, my crackers fell to the floor, and he never broke stride. He set my cracker less soup, that had spilled over the side of the cup filling the soup spoon full of brothy beef and soaking the napkin, in front of me without acknowledging a thing… Or replacing my crackers. Not a great start… Soup was OK: B–(crackers might have been the missing ingredient???) Next came the Reuben. Have to give credit where credit is due… GOOD F-ING RUEBEN! A++. Really tasty corned beef, perfectly toasted rye bread, and 1,000 island dressing that could change your life! I spoke briefly with the owner who informed me that the were in the process of expanding into the adjacent space. Good! They need it! I will eat here again and you should too! Killer sandwich, and I’m sure once they expand the chances of a beef broth, cracker calamity will be minimal! Looking forward to upgrading my stars next visit!

I came with high expectations after reading all of 20 reviews, each with 5-star rating. It was getting late and their website said they close at 7pm. Amazingly, they had a Facebook feed on their website where they recently posted that they were opening until 8p that night. How tech savy! That piece of info got me into those doors that night. After my dinner here, I am happy to add to their 5-star streak. The deli is adorable and is tucked away in one of the alleys in downtown Lombard. Street parking is free and was easy to find. There is both seating inside and outside. The lady working here, I believe her name is Theresa, made us feel more than welcome. She is enthusiastic and genuinely cares for the business and her customers. What a delight to be at a place where the people are happy! Shrimp Po Boy w/side was on special for $ 7. Since it was towards the end of the day, some of the sides were almost gone and she threw in an extra side for us. How sweet! The sandwich looked and tasted amazing! Cobb Salad — $ 8 — Big salad, fresh and delicious! The bacon on top was perfectly cooked. The sub and sandwiches on the menu ranges from $ 5 — $ 8. Great atmosphere, great food, and great prices. I’d go out of my way to come eat here again!

I’ve been known to have some impulse control problems. Lisa had an appointment, so we arranged to meet at a forest preserve(on her way to work) for lunch and I would pick up the food at Shannon’s. My first time there. I know that Lisa would be happy with half a sandwich and chips or soup… But she ends up with a foot long Club Sandwich, cup of Spicy Shrimp and Rice Soup AND a pasta salad(I’m figuring she can take the rest to work for dinner) and a Chocolate Chip Cookie* I got the Meatball Sub and French Fries and a Chocolate Chip Cookie… and then I bought Lasagna for my sister in law and I to have for dinner. Lisa thought the Club was great, good combo/quantity of fixings and really good soft and chewy bread, the pasta salad was tasty and the soup(a new one for Shannon’s) was really delicious(not real spicy!) Of course I loved my Meatball Sub, same great bread, meatballs with a really great texture. everything just messy enough, cheese melted properly and a really tasty red sauce. The fries were pretty standard, they cook them more to the well done side, which I liked. hot and crispy. but not great fries, just good. I had the cookie with my coffee a little later, it was there. and then it wasn’t… I’m thinking it was pretty darn good** The Lasagna($ 5.99) was delicious, baked it in the oven for about 25 minutes at 350, I wished that I had some red sauce to pour over it… I might ask about that next time(see about getting a side) The lady at the counter couldn’t have been more friendly. She has a great attitude and made the process fun. I was there after the lunch rush so there were only a few other people there. She seemed to know everyone and how they wanted their stuff. I half expected her to know my name, even though I’d never been there before… * Impulse control problem? or good planning? Lisa took one look at all of the food and handed the cookie to me and said«Thanks, but I’ll never be able to eat this too» ** Due to the«accidental» over-purchase of cookies, I can now attest that they are quite good(heavy on the chocolate!) as I forced myself to slowly savor the second one
