American Mattress

Came in because we needed to purchase a mattress and frame. Salesman was too pushy, rude, and unprofessional. We ended up purchasing from a different place and saved a lot of money compared to the prices for mattresses/​bed frames at this store. This place has lost my business. Will not come back. Very disrespectful sales employee. Seemed very desperate to sell us a mattress

Had a very pleasant retail experience which is extremely rare these days. My 3 kids, husband and I came into the Lombard American Mattress location to «just look» at twin mattresses. We dealt with a very nice gentleman by the name of Josh. He listened, he was knowledgeable and he was patient. We ended up purchasing beds for 2 of our kids and plan on going back when we need a bed ourselves. When we do go back, I hope that we get Josh again. Nice to see that at least 1 business these days knows what customer service is all about. We will go back and I have already referred a friend.

We worked with Rick, the store manager, and he could not have been more helpful or pleasant. We were seriously dreading going mattress shopping and dealing with pushy salespeople, but Rick was not like this at all. He narrowed down the choices for us so we weren’t overwhelmed, and clearly explained the differences between the mattresses without steering us toward one or the other. If it’s time for a new mattress and you want a hassle-​free experience, go to the Lombard American Mattress!

Rick was excellent to work with. Very accommodating and he knew his stuff. On the other hand I had poor service from the Oak Brook (22^nd street) — at least when the store manager was not present.
So use Rick at Lombard instead!

A Rush Limbaugh impersonator works here. Despite the American Mattress circulars that reach just about every household within a 20 mile radius, he insists the prices he is listing is just him «cutting you a deal».
There were two men outside holding «Store Closing» signs directing cars towards this particular location. We asked Rush if we would be liable to these same monthly comfort guarantees once the store closes. RL claims that his store is a «clearance center» and is no way «closing». I should’ve yelled out to those poor souls on the street that they can pack up and go home early because there is clearly an information breakdown.
In his ultraconservative pushy angsty word vomit spree, he spat, «Gimme 5 bucks for gas». Oh, you’d even deliver to chicago for that? Rush Limbaugh wanna-​be insists that 5 dollars will guarantee my new bed to make it to Chicago.
Trying to leave, he kept stopping my Pa and I to really push some obscure bottom lines. EEEGAD! Once we got outside, it had to have been his jaguar in the parking lot.
For being a «store closing clearance center» the American Mattress one town over gave us a much better deal with confirmed delivery than this stores one-​man wonder.
