This place qualifies as a DIVE. Smells like smoke, no elevators and odd layout. Don’t waste your money.

I booked this on Travelocity based on an avg 3.5 star rating and the pictures. None of it was true. The hotel is a mess. It looks likes there are quite a few living there who are homeless and using it as transitional housing. I checked in and out quickly. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking. My room was overwhelmingly smoke drenched. There is not an elevator here so if you’re on the second floor it’s challenging to get to your room. The carpets are old. The beds are old. The linens were disgusting. The parking lot is not lit and they recommend you park your car below your window so you can keep an eye on it, even though they tell you it’s safe. Very questionable activities happening around the back parking lot and it appeared some«working girls«resided there as well. I do not think this hotel is safe.

Let me start by saying I didn’t pick this hotel my father wanted to do something nice and find a room for me. In Detroit to visit my Dad and he booked this room for the Mrs and I. I guess I should have told him our 15 year old son was with us when he called, LOL! Hotel is old with a renovated feel to it but the rooms are ok(Just OK). NOTMYTASTE but it will do for the short visit. I am NOT, I repeat, NOT about to get in this Jacuzzi, but if it’s your thang this is the spot for you. I read the other reviews and yes they have some challenges here but everyone knows you get what you pay for… it is Detroit after all.

Walking in you could smell the stench mildew and mold. The front clerk Nancy was nice and about as helpful as she could be. Walking to the suite that we ordered was like something out of a cross between Boyz in da hood and the walking dead. It smelled horrible in that hallway. Also on the way walking to the suite it was very loud and dark. We entered our room and another wave of a horrific smell hit us like a ton of bricks! The mildew and mold smell got 10x worse. The room was freezing, we did our little search of cleanliness like always in hotel room and what we found was disgusting. A long black hair under the covers and right next to it was a short and curly black hair, You probably guess what that was. The dresser was missing a knob on the drawer, which could have easily cut my wife or I. Then we searched the sides of the beds and found what seemed to be blood stains on both sides of the box springs. Im not a %100 if it was blood but thats what it looked like to us. The view out our sliding glass door on the 1st floor was just as bad. There was garbage outside and tore up bricks all over the place. The hot tub was also missing some type of nozzle inside the tub as well. We were told that our money would be refunded when we went back up to the front desk to talk to Nancy. She said she tried to refund us but the computer wouldnt allow it since she wasnt a manager. She told us we’d have to wait for the manager Jackie to arrive at 10pm. We did not stay at this hotel and wouldnt have stayed if it was free. Its 9:22 and we are waiting till 10pm to contact Jackie the manager. Will update when we hear something. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car. This place isnt worth it. I also took pictures of all the things i stated in this review as well.

The name should really changed to the The«Quality» Inn. This experience was just awful. Our 8th grade class went on a trip to Washington DC and we had to stay here. First, the key cards wouldn’t work unless your cell phone was turned off. What the frick! I recently heard that the staff had to drill through the door to get in. Second, there is this god awful smell. I thought that it was coming from my roommate’s athletes foot but it turns out it’s from mold. Would it kill the staff to febreeze the rooms? It’s works on the commercials. Then, there was the staircase. It’s so creepy. There were cob webs and spiders everywhere. That staircase is something you would see in the horror movie, Saw. Jigsaw wouldn’t go near that staircase. The breakfast was terrible. I’m almost sure that the food was cooked under a 60 watt lightbulb. But hey do you really expect real food, McDonald’s food is more real than there’s. After getting a whiff of quality that they had to offer, I slept on the floor. On top a couple pillows. I didn’t trust what has been on the floor or how much decades it’s been since the sheets were washed. I have nothing to say about the staff as they were all hiding from the guests. I’m really hoping that the hotel inspector comes soon and shuts them down. Don’t trust the maids, they stole things like iPods and make up from people in my class. You’re better off staying the night in a sewer. At least it’s somewhat clean.

For now, I am giving this place a 2 star. Olé, Andrew ran them through the ringer! lol Check in was OK, the desk clerk was friendly, but couldn’t print my invoice to sign before checking in, said I can get it at check out. the outside appearance of the hotel looks… OK, but it is hard to tell with all the snow. The lobby is nice, but smells like a nursing home. Not sure if they are cleaning something, but if you inhale to deeply you may lose your lunch, or dinner, whatever you ate last. Yea, it was that bad. The room is your typical dive hotel room. It passed my cleanliness inspection thus far. Bathroom was clean, and no wierd fluids on the mirrors. Bed doesnt seem to comfortable, as with any Quality Inn, they usually arent. I am on the first floor, so it will be interesting to see if I hear any noises the precious Unilocal’er referenced to. As for the code, I think it is changed daily, I have a different one than the one listed. I mean, this is what you can expect for $ 59, its not the Hyatt, and its not a Travel lodge, it’s some where in between. So far, I’d stay here again. I stay at 60+ hotels a year, and this onc is not in my top 5, nor in the bottom 5. Might try a suite next time, but overall, so far so good. Of course, as the night goes on, this review may be edited. lol I am going to try the sports bar next door, the front desk clerk said it is VERY good, but not sure of her standards… we will find out!
