Don’t trust Livermore’s opinion on Mexican food. Seriously, I put ‘Mexican food’ in Unilocal in this city and Tequila’s came up with 3.5 stars. Seriously? When the whole joint as Mexican people enjoying lunch, I know I’ve picked a good place, no matter what Unilocalers say. That being said, this no frills Taqueria hit the spot after our soccer tournament this past weekend. We were all starving and they came in clutch. I’ll reiterate my feelings on Mexican food. If they can get Carnitas right, they’ve won the battle. We decided we’d give their Carnitas and Asada a try in various forms. Carnitas Super Burrito and Asada Super Nachos, and an Asada burrito for the kidlet. The sister ordered a chicken toastada, which also came with beans and rice. I will say, their rice is a very vibrant orange color. It almost looks fake. But it has a pretty good flavor. I can’t pinpoint it, but it was more flavorful than most Spanish rice options I’ve tried. The employee who took our order was really sweet and the food came out fast. They also have TV’s for soccer and cartoon watching, which was perfect for our table. They have canned soda, Jarritos, and a few other options, but I never saw any soda on tap. They did have the fruit waters in the drink machines. They also had chips for free available and a mini salsa bar for everyone to take. Their food is good. Maybe the bad ratings come for other stuff, but it should be for the food. Their carnitas is full of flavor and they don’t skimp on it in the burrito. It was so good, salty, crunchy, and delicious. Their asada was also really flavorful, which came through in the nachos. Their chips, for nachos and just for eating, were awesome. They are thick and huge, great for nacho eating! Everyone was completely satisfied with this currently only 3.5 rated location. Not one plate was left with any food on it. The price was on par with what you’d expect to pay at a Taqueria! Service was good, food was good, what else do you need from a place?! Livermore, step your Mexican food game up!

I can’t place my finger on it, but I’d have to say I’ve had better. My friend and I came here after working on my car at his place. The place is in the downtown Livermore area and halls a very home style feel to it. Kinda needs some updating, but I’d say it’s just your average run of the mill Mexican restaurants. I ordered three tacos. One lengua, one carnitas, and one tripe. All tacos were edging on above average. The lengua was a little too watery, the carnitas were good, but the tripe was kinda strange in flavor. Maybe tasted overcomes. I only ate half. Tortillas were barely cooked. Not the best, but good in a pinch.

Pretty standard Taqueria, after a long day of drinking it really hit the spot. The line moved at an average pace, however, the food comes out quick after you order. Free chips with order. My wife ordered two fish tacos — pretty basic does not come with avacado or that delicious mayonnaise sauce a lot put on there. She said they were good though. I ordered the grilled chicken super burrito — pretty standard super burrito solid B — to make it an A, I would have wanted more gauc and overwhelming flavor — flavor was good not AMAZING. One unisex bathroom in the back — they were playing the warriors game and soccer when we were there. I think I remember seeing a juke box too…

Stopped by this place on the way to a baseball game. First off, let me say that I’m originally from SoCal and its hard to find a good Taqueria around the Bay Area unless you live in SF or SJ. Anyway, I was craving a burrito and saw this place in passing. I ordered the super carne asada burrito with no beans. It was the BOMB! The assortment of salsa’s and pickled carrots and jalapenos put this place over the top. Not to mention, the chips were free! It only took 7 minutes for my burrito to come out. Grabbed me a Jarrito and i was good to go! Prices are fair too. I will definitely being going back to this place, no doubt about that. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The rice was flavorful too! I usually sauce every bite with tapatio, but believe it or not, i didnt even use tapatio, thats how you know the food is flavorful.

I’m not really into bad reviewing small family businesses. But this last experience had me fuming. I been visiting tequilas for about 3 years, I always get the same thing. The number 2. Green enchilada plate. They are the best enchiladas In Livermore in my opinion. On my last visit I ordered two number twos, I had to explain to the cashier that it was the green enchilada plate. When I got my food, i got red, I explained to the food runner that my wife and I got green, not red, so she took the food back, she came back to us with the same red enchiladas saying the cashier said I asked for red, so they gave me the bag to take. I almost left with the food, until I realized that I spent 30 dollars for food that I didn’t want, so I asked for a refund. It just got to me because I’m a store manager for a family business, and I always train my staff to make things right, not to attempt to prove a customer wrong. Honestly how hard is it to give me what I asked for, I understand mistakes happen, but why tell a customer they are wrong?

Food: tastes decent, but last visit had way to much chicken bone and cartilage in my burrito and quesadilla. nasty and hurts. Customer service: it’s ok if you like being called«chief» and«boss» when you order. Keep looking.

This restaurant is a terrible place to eat, the food isn’t very good and the service is awful, I wouldn’t recommend eating here to anyone, if you like good Mexican food try Los Caporales located on first St. Livermore a true favorite.

I do not understand how people like their food. My husband and I ate there last night, I was craving chile verde. My goodnes! It was HORRIBLE. I swear they fried the pork and poured a can of tomatillo sauce over it. Ugh. We will never eat there again. If you are looking for a Mecican spot downtown, check out Los Caporoles next to Ale House.

I’ve had a lot of burritos in my days, everything from a fancy ones at an elegant sit down Mexican restaurant to the back of a taco truck on a lunch break. But this Tequlia’s Taqueria has the best tasting burritos I’ve ever had. This and Perico’s in Dublin are the places I compare all the rest to. Now it helps that these two restaurants serve my fave type of meat in a burrito, which is chorizo! I don’t find this offered in many of the less«Mexican» places, like Chipotlie, or Quizino’s or even many Mexican restaurants not frequented by Mexican people. I’ve had Chorizo Burritos say in Carson City NV, and there are plenty of Mexican around, but the flavors nowhere near come close. I don’t know what they do here, but it sure is tasty! Prices have gone up over the years but what hasn’t? I suppose the days of the $ 4.00 or $ 5.00 burrito are over. My Chorizo Super Burrito was $ 6.95 … still worth every cent! I like mine wrapped in foil, so I just peel down the foil and eat like a big fat Popsicle. I like to pour down into the burrito the spicy green salsa. That first bite is just so good! It just makes me stomp my feet under my chair … Yummers! I love this one thing here so much, I’ve never wanted to try anything else! We used to stop here years ago in high school when we were headed for the mountains on a Friday to go skiing for the weekend. Those were the days! Now there’s Starbuck’s next door, so you can get a burrito and have a latte’ with that out here on the sidewalk. You get free WiFi in here too, cause it leaks over from the Starbuck’s!

Beware ! Family got horrible food poisoning from here last night !! It was most definitely food poisoning as the only one not effected was our 7 month old who did not eat there. All four of us started violently throwing up within minutes of eachother and only 3 – 4 hours after eating there. I am vey disappointed that this Livermore business does not have higher standards for the community’s health. Please take caution eating here as 20 hours and counting of extreme pain and sickness is not worth it for this mediocre food.

I started going to Tequillas about 20 years ago then moved away from the area(marin). So I missed them. While their service can sometimes be friendly sometimes aloof their food quality has remained the same. I love their bean cheese and rice burritos. Sometimes I order it wet(mojado) but their portion sizes are so ample it make 2 –3 meals for me if I eat it with chips and salsa. For a man though, one burrito would be a good meal, satisfying.

One of the best things about having a strong Mexican community in Greater San Francisco is all the top Mexican restaurants we can visit. Take Tequila’s Taqueria, ferinstance. Located in a quaint old downtown, this is a humble storefront that doesn’t really stand out from the rest. But it’s a textbook example of what a taqueria should be. Blue-green walls with mirrors shaped like palm trees and parrots. Rancheiro music playing and Univision on the TVs. When I stopped in during lunchtime, it was filled, and 2⁄3 of the patrons were Mexicans. An easy entrance into another culture. I got a Super Burrito with Chorizo, with a large Pina Agua Fresca, for a little more than $ 11. Ooooooeeee, muy bueno. Like I read on another review, half of it was meat, it wasn’t overloaded with rice and beans. I was disappointed that I couldn’t find any hot sauce to put on it, but the Chorizo Super Burrito can stand on its own without the hot sauce. I had a bigger burrito at Concord’s Taqueria Classica, but this one still filled me up.(Oh, and John B, just walk in and eat. Few people use the phone anymore.) I tell you, I’ll be figuring out when my family will be on 580 during lunch or dinner, so I can take a short detour and introduce them to Tequila’s Taqueria. I hope Steve from Taqueria Classica doesn’t mind. ..

I come here about once a week! It’s just great on a Thursday night. My favorite is the vegetarian burrito with no cheese or sour cream. I know it’s a bit of an uppity request, but I didn’t think they’ve ever gotten my order wrong! The cashiers are friendly and personable. It tastes fresh… And spicy, just the way I like it. Super filling too, it leaves you full in that«oh boy, I think I need a nap» way. They also have the best chips. The chips are thick and super crunchy. I think they make them themselves. I’ve been to just about all the taquerias in Livermore, and this one is absolutely my favorite. I recommend this place to people all the time. The location is really great, just off First Street. Parking is a little dicey; there’s only a few spots in front and if it’s a weekend, forget about it. You may have to park a bit away and walk to it, but I assure you that it’s worth it!

I return to this taqueria regularly for the voluminous Burrito Mojado. This bigger than average burrito is stuffed full with meat(not rice) and is finished with melted cheese and New Mexican red chile. It is delicious and a fantastic value. The restaurant provides a bowl of chips for free with several varieties of salsa, the picante bringing the sweats. The restroom is unusually placed, requiring one to walk back into the kitchen. Conversely, the taqueria is gifted with a wall-to-wall glass window looking out on downtown Livermore, great for people watching. This taqueria is as good as any I’ve been to in the Mission in San Francisco.

Average Mexican food to soak up all the wine from our tastings. Food was not bad, but a bit too greasy for my liking. Pretty authentic for Livermore Valley. The lengua taco I ordered was really soft and tender. Nachos were pretty good, but I didn’t like how hard the chips were :/Also, my shrimp tostado didn’t come with a tostada. Weird? Nice place to stop by for a quick bite before returning to the wineries for more tastings!

100% of the time they will F-up your call in order. Without question … 100% of the time! I like their food, but it’s annoying I don’t get what I order and pay for! While I appreciate that they hire incompetent, illiterate workers, it’s annoying they screw up EVERY order I place. IT’S WHOLEBEAN, CHEESE, RICEANDSALSA … that’s it! Honestly, how do your F! that up? After opening my burrito … because you ALWAYS screw it up … I got a lettuce, rice, salsa and cheese burrito … YOU’REFIRED!
