CLOSED. Stopped in again today during posted open hours and they were closed. Have been closed each of the last three times I stopped by. Seems they are cooked

Pit Stop CLOSED. Place has been shuttered for five weeks. Two nearby businesses say they have gone out of business. Too bad!

Ordered a two meat plate for about $ 19.00. Brisket was good… nice smoke flavor and very tender. Pulled pork came served on a huge cold bun and the pork was drowning in sweet bbq sauce. Tri tip Chile was mehh. Overall not impressed, especially for the money.

I must have ordered the wrong thing based on these reviews. $ 10 for a piece of cornbread(which was good) and a gawdawfull Lloyds type«pulled pork» Sandwich. It tasted like spaghetti and came on a cold bun. Terrible. I’m gonna give this place one more chance because I love bbq and Im really hopin that this place can be a viable option during a Q cravin. The guy next to me had a tri tip sandwich on a roll that looked good, so maybe thats the ticket.

Sooo delicious. Randomly noticed this place because I live a couple blocks away, and only after 1.5 years of living there did I see it nestled back in the strip mall. All of the BBQ is delicious. I got the Winner’s Circle plate the first time I went to try a bit of everything. Pulled pork is awesome, the brisket is awesome. it’s all awesome. Go.

Found this place after visiting some car dealerships. Amazing BBQ! Had the«Winner’s Circle» that had all different types of meat. Highly recommend!

Excellent ribs. As a person in Livermore looking for a good place to grab a meal out without feeling judged for eating alone, this was a winner. Owner was very friendly. He seems to take a great deal of pride in the quality of his food, and it shows. His daughter was running the till. Food was a little pricy, but I’d prefer to pay more and have better quality than pay less and wonder what’s in it.

Thank you Pit Stop for catering another wonderful picnic for the Livermore Laboratory Retirees Association at Ravenswood Historic Site. Your set up was timely and efficient and the food was wonderful(as usual). Pulled pork is my favorite. The brisket was flavorful and so tender you could cut it with a plastic fork and the smoked turkey breast was a great addition. The salad was fresh and plentiful and people loved the crisp coleslaw(of course it’s always been my favorite side when I eat at Pit Stop!). The cornbread and honey butter were as yummy as they always are. Our vegetarians really appreciated the vegan beans! Thanks for suggesting we order cookies from the Safeway bakery. By ordering in advance(the night before) we got 50 cookies for $ 5 instead of paying @ $ 4 for a box of 16 cookies. Your suggestions for buying soft drinks at WalMart and the best mix of flavors were appreciated. Thanks to Tim & Garrett for staying around to make sure everything was running smoothly. You really worked with us to bring our picnic in on budget. Thanks to Kelly & Ashley for being at the restaurant to make a delivery and set up possible.

Texas brisquet was good, flavorful, and their bbq sauce is awesome. Tri tip chili is bland, and their corn bread has no flavor.

I used to go here alot when it first opened but it’s gone downhill. Looking for a quick place to get a pulled pork sandwich so I thought I’d give this place a try. The pulled pork was bad. Had on way too much BBQ sauce. They mix it in so you don’t have a chance to put on how much you want. I found it too sweet. I also wanted some cole slaw on the sandwich which I had to buy separately so it came to $ 12.00 for a sandwich and cole slaw. I could have gotten the sandwich, a side of mac and cheese and a beer at Sauced for that price. The place looks run down and dirty. Saw that Dandy Dogs was busy. I should have gone there.

«Woohoo! As food as it gets». Well, been here before and we’ll be here again. Sometimes you just need good barbecue. We actually visited the«new» local barbecue joint a couple weeks ago, and have been craving Pit Stop ever since. Tonight we hit the Farmers Market,(standard Thursday evening) and just couldn’t get into the market food. Then it dawned on us. So out East Ave. we went. The wife and ordered up a three meat combo to share. Pulled pork(sandwich) with vinegar sauce and slaw, ribs, hotlinks, beans and cornbread. Does it get any better than this? Well, we ran it home, split it up and poured a couple home brews. Honestly, we’re pretty active trail runners and big eaters. This was plenty to fill our bellies. As I said earlier, «we’ll be back». Sorry Sauced, you may have the sophisticated ambience, but definitely not the food. That’s for sure…

This place is HORRIBLE. Save your time, money, and your stomach and go some place else. The owners are also extremely RUDE. If you decided to try this place, stop off at Rite-Aid or CVS on your way home and pick up a bottle of Imodium.

Not a fan. I’ve come here twice and have been disappointed both times. When I first came, the owner bragged about how construction workers come and leave full. I’m sorry, but when the 3 combo plate can’t leave me full, there’s something doubtful about your claim. Anytime that I have to go to McDonald’s after eating at your restaurant to feel full, it does not deem you with any bragging rights. The quality of the food is not something to brag about either. The coleslaw, as others have stated, had a Safeway feel to it. I was fine with the cornbread. The ribs weren’t something to tell others about. Neither was the tri tip. I did like the sauce they do provide, so that did help. I have on a couple occasions, shared a French dip sandwich with a friend here. She had brought it as take out. If I had to have shared the cost with her on it, I would have been extremely disappointed. But free is free. Personally I prefer Dicky’s over Pit Stop, but not by much.

When i first walked in i felt like i was in a scene from deliverance. All the conversations stopped and they looked at me. Like what were they just throwing around the N word before i came in? They continued to talk after i placed my order, of course it was about NASCAR. pfffft!!! Got the combo plate and to be honest the hot links tasted like something from Safeway. The ribs were just okay nothing to jump for joy about. Brisket, meh. I was just underwhelmed by the entire plate. Potato salad i got the potatoes were still hard and not cooked all the way through. The owners were very nice though. Its hard to find truly good BBQ anywhere. This place is mediocre at best and very pricy. I don’t think i will be going back here anytime soon.

First time trying their food tonight. We got a rack of ribs and we were left for a craving for a good smoked rib. No joke, we actually scouted out our next meat-venture to help satisfy that carni-craving. I’m not trying to be harsh. I thought the people were very nice. I got the distinct idea that they start their ribs in a boiling pot of water, because the smoke didn’t penetrate like it should. No smoke ring imparted into the meat! The meat was somewhat bland, the fat wasn’t quite rendered enough, and the sauce was quite reminiscent of ketchup. Overall, not a good smoke experience. I could be wrong, but I was expecting a smoked meat offering. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Was in the area & wanted a sandwich saw a deli sign & walked in. By the smell of things you couldn’t tell it was a restaurant at all let alone a BBQ place. This place was a mess there were boxes(supplies, towels, cleaners) lining the hallway and in the restroom! What really grossed me out was that they keep the highchair in the bathroom!!! The staff was polite but looked a mess themselves. Now to the food Turkey sandwich would’ve been good if the bread wasn’t stale & for $ 8 i expect more.

Pit Stop BBq lives up to it’s name in part. there’s hardly any seating here. just a few tables. the kitchen is also very small. wonder how they do the Q and all that? they also sell deli sammies using boar’s meats(7.95) eats: potato salad(s, 2.95) –was assured it’s home made –like commercial made salad, except the potato is firm not mushy, the flavoring ranges from vinegary to bland. not a lot of spicy. only the celery bits and the fresh potato stands out. –definitely freshly made, then refegeriated q notes: –q pricing highly cuz of higher meat costs –parking lot saturated. –fast, courtous, service.

I decided NOT to write a review after my first visit here because I was SURE I had just hit them on a bad day and it couldn’t have REALLY been that bad… turns out I was wrong =( I tried the ‘brisket’ and ribs the first time and the ribs and pulled pork the second time. The best thing on the menu? The cornbread– which is actually more like«cake» than bread it’s so sweet. First, tri-tip is NOT brisket– even though the owner tried to convince me it is– Son, this was NOT my first rodeo. I know brisket and this is not brisket. Second, the ribs had a faint smoky flavor, but the texture of the meat was much more like oven cooked than BBQ. It wasn’t tender, in fact it was far too chewy even though it slid off the bone. The potato salad was reminiscent of Safeway’s bucket salads– fine for some, but not as a side dish to BBQ. I see some folks like it, for me it’s a notch below Kinders, 2 below Armadillo Willys and 3 below Dickeys. Sorry guys, can’t think I’ll ever go back.

Still love this place. My husband will drive all the way from Discovery Bay to get dinner in Livermore every once in a while, its that good. Tim & Kelly the owners are just wonderful people. I get a lot of tips for great restaurants from them as well… all of which have turned out to be fantastic. All around a great place for food, friendliness and an all around good time.

Succinct review: –BBQ sauce that tastes like marinara sauce? No thank you. –Huge hunks of corn bread with honey butter? Yes please. –My dad’s tri tip is better. If I eat at Pit Stop again, I think I’ll try one of their sandwiches. My brother got the enormous pulled pork sandwich and it looked delicious. He practically swallowed it whole. My husband enjoyed the ribs, so maybe I just started off on the wrong foot.
