Joy Moon

When I moved back from LA to the Bay Area, I was worried about many things — Would I be able to find an apartment that I can afford? (Not really) Would I like the restaurants in the area? (Still searching) What would I do about my crazy hair? Where would I take my dog out to play?
Well, the answers to the last two questions is Joy at Stylishious Salon. Full disclosure — Joy is a friend of mine but I wouldn’t write a good review if I didn’t mean it. Joy is professional and easy to talk to. I have had experiences at other hair salons where the stylist would promise me one thing during the consultation but I would end up with significantly different results at the end. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been told that they were getting a «slight trim» and then walked out with 6 inches less hair. Joy is very communicative and let me know up front what I could expect. When she trimmed my hair, she did exactly that. Before coloring my hair, she told me how the hair dye will change over time and what color I can expect once it lightens.
She’s at Stylishious Salon now and the salon itself is a fun place. It’s located in a non-​traditional light-​industrial area but the space inside is beautifully decorated. You can get free beverages while enjoying your service and you can bring your pup to watch you get your hair done. Give it a try and have a drink for me!
