My air conditioning went out on one of the hottest days of the year. Darrell’s sent some one out right away. The technician drove through bumper to bumper traffic to get to me he arrived with a great attitude. He quickly found some worn out parts and repaired the unit at what I feel is a fair price. There were no attempts to up sell or sell service contracts. He just fixed the air conditioner in a quick and efficient manner. They well stay on my list of who to call.

I’m having a hard time believing the other two reviews about Darrell’s Heating and Air Conditioning. I almost wonder if they are competitors. Darrell and his son Stuart have been«tuning up» our air conditioner and furnace for several years. Darrell saved us thousands of dollars one year by repairing our air conditioner when nobody else could. In January of this year, our furnace went out while my husband was hospitalized for pneumonia. Darrell not only gave me the best price in town, when he found out my husband was out of work, gave us a discount on his already wonderful price. He had the furnace installed immediately because he was concerned that my husband not come home to a cold house. His son Stuart is a delightful young man who does excellent work. I won’t go to anyone else in the Tri-Valley for any of my heating and air conditioning needs. If you want honesty and a fair deal, call Darrell.

We used Darrell’s heating and air conditioning to install an A/C unit when we moved in 4 years ago and had a good experience. I didn’t research the costs, but he seemed trustworthy, did the work, and we didn’t have issues. So today we called them with issues with our heating system. They quickly found the defective part and offered to purchase and re-install it. They gave us an estimate of $ 373 for the part and the work(1 hour of work). A quick Google search showed us that the part cost $ 26, but they were going to charge us $ 218 + tax! The 1 hour work was an additional $ 135, which may or may not be standard. The ridiculous mark-up of the price seems extremely shady. Luckily, we were able to cancel the work order and only had to pay $ 79 for the diagnosis. Instead, I ordered the part, with 2-day express delivery, for $ 35. Unfortunately, I will not go through Darrell’s again.
