My go-to gardening center. They always have a great selection of just about anything you need. I have found better looking plants at O’Toole’s at a better price compared to other places. Equally as important, their entire staff is very knowledgable about their products and extremely friendly. They even helped me to find some plants for some very picky areas in my yard. The only drawback is their outdated check-out system. I didn’t get the discount that was offered on one purchase, but after I brought it to their attention they took care of my refund right away. Overall a great business and definitely worth seeking out.

I wished I had enough money to it everything I wanted to purchase from there. There are so many plants to choose from. roses can represent love or friendship. Columbines are the favorite of Colorado with he freedom to fly where they wish. So many beautiful plants and thats why I choose O’Tooles.

A gardeners paradise! You could spend all day here! Overall, this is a great place for plants if you are looking for a bigger variety than Lowe’s or Home Depot. You can get lost in the aisles of annuals and perennials! And they are pet friendly too. I do think the prices are a bit higher than other gardening stores, and they are not clearly displayed. You pay about $ 5.99 for an individual annual, but they do have a large selection of plants which makes it worth it. It is hard to navigate around, as areas are not easily marked. I was looking for Gerber Daisy’s and kept going in circles around the same petunias. A busy place on a weekend, so give yourself plenty of time to roam and stop to smell the flowers!

O’Toole’s is a destination trip: a store that may not be nearby but is worth the drive. The selection of plants is excellent from April to September in a variety of sizes — no getting stuck with only small bedding plants or oversized containers. My favorite item is the hanging baskets. My neighbors are always jealous of the beautiful variety in a single basket. O’Toole’s carries soil amendments and fertilizers created specifically for Colorado gardening. Staff work quickly to load bags into the car for you in a sort of «drive-thru.» The one caveat is the store is large and the stock is constantly moving around, confusing even the staff as to the location. It helps to be knowledgeable and find what you need just by foliage.

I usually shop here every summer for flowers. They usually have a decent selection of flowers and vegetables and competitive prices. Recently I went in to buy a bunch of flowers for all my pots. The selection of flowers available was very disappointing. Many of the flowers they had on display were wilted and crummy looking. I did find some good flowers, but overall was disappointed. On a different trip in, I had questions about a specific houseplant. After being sent to several different people, the lady who supposedly was the best one to talk to, had no clue about my common houseplant. She ended up pulling up misinformation online. I was very disappointed. On a positive note, I have also had encounters with very helpful employees. Especially, the guys loading the bags of soil into my car. Their checkout system needs to be updated, they still have a pretty basic system.

I went in to get several of my houseplants re-potted as I was afraid if I did it myself I would damage the plants. After choosing the right pots(nice selection at pretty good prices mind you) a lovely person transferred my plants into the new pots. I was treated very well, my plants love their new pots and everyone was great! I wasn’t even charged for anything but the pots and the dirt. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend these folks.

Two stars only because we’ve run across some very helpful employees here in the past. But we have spent our last $ 70 at this store. We were overcharged, and not for the first time – they have an antiquated system where the receipt gives you no clue which item is which unless you remember the dollar amount for each(why can’t they scan the codes on the little plant sticks like everyone else?). The individual items don’t have price stickers, it’s a matter of the employee knowing how much each type of plant costs and ringing it in and sometimes they’re wrong. The woman ringing us up was more concerned with talking with another employee and finding the store cat and locking it up than with making sure she got our sale right. On top of it, just counting the items when we got home we discovered we were charged for two more than we had. If you use an antiquated system like that, employees should check over the sale to make sure it’s correct(at least count the items and compare that to the receipt!), but she didn’t. We had a small cardboard flat(ONE!) plus one $ 6 bag of potting soil and our bill was $ 72. Other than one $ 10 perennial, everything was a small vegetable(3) or a small annual, the kind you find at King Soopers or anywhere – the little six-packs where one or two plants is either dead or dying. Eyeballing the little flat, I’d say it was worth $ 40. So even if she hadn’t charged for extra items, we’d still have been paying far too much for what we got. We didn’t end up going back for the money because I just wanted to get the things planted and the only way to semi-prove they’d made a mistake would be to bring back all the plants and wait in line and deal with the rigamarole and it’s Memorial Day weekend and I just don’t want to do that. But we’ll never shop at O’Toole’s again. This isn’t the first time we’ve been overcharged there but it’s the last time. I hate being ripped off. We’re going to try other local garden stores, Dardano’s and Jared’s. Hopefully, they’ll be better.

Let me start by saying that I have always loved O’toole’s. They are close to my house and have always provided outstanding customer service — unfortunately that changed today. My husband and I have large clay pots that we have O’toole’s fill each year. We realize this takes time so we always work with them ahead of time to have a plan in place for when is the best time to bring the pots in. This year we visited the store on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 and spoke with Chris. Chris told us to bring our pots in on Saturday and they would take care of them and we could pick them up either late on Saturday or sometime on Sunday. This morning my husband and I get up early, get all the pots loaded onto the truck and head to O’toole’s. We find Chris and he promptly proceeds to tell us it would be much better for us to bring the pots back on Monday. He said there was no way they could get to them today and he didn’t want to risk losing the pots between now and then. I reminded him that he was the one who told us to bring them in today and he didn’t even remember speaking to us. Worse, he brushed it off with an «oh well» like it really didn’t matter. I am so upset about this — I tried to do the right thing by planning ahead. I made plans around having this done this weekend based on the communication Chris provided. I am now looking for another garden center that can help us out.

O’toole’s Garden Center is ten times better than a big box store. You can tell they love plants. When we first went there I thought it might suck, because they are in the back of a potholed parking lot in an otherwise abandoned strip mall. Boy am I happy we stopped. We discovered purple potatoes! Which I have found to grow very well in Colorado. Just stick them in the ground in the spring and forget them. A few months later we were eating purple rosemary«fries». We actually baked them. The kids loved the novelty and I loved seeing them eating something free and healthy. Don’t forget to pick up some Lemon Cucumber seeds. Easy to grow and delicious.
