I’m visiting Little Rock on business and only here 1 night, but if I can swing it, I’m going back for lunch tomorrow! I got the vermicelli bowl with pork and egg roll. It was really good. The pork was marinated and lightly grilled and they chopped up a crispy egg roll. It was full of crunchy carrot, lettuce and cucumber which gave it such a bright flavor! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the pork in the spring rolls was boiled and not the wonderful yummy pork like the bowl had. See you tomorrow!

Phở Thanh My is worth going out of the way for if you are looking for Vietnamese on the west end, in fact, it is located across the street from the West End. They offer Phở, rice, vermicelli and hard bread sandwiches. One of the great things about vietcuisine is that you can add on all kinds of great finger foods, proteins as well as get dishes to share. Another tradition that may one day be picked up by western restaurants is the checks are always available at the host stand, you never really have to wait. Phở Thanh has a decent broth, nice portions on the vermicelli bowls and the interior of the restaurant is clean, even if it could use some interior design. They do have Boba and traditional teas, coffees, which are also great treats along with a spring roll. They close early, have lunch specials and also do take out really well. I recommend adding a pork chop or grilled shrimps to every dish you order, just because you can!

Horrible service. Walked in and didn’t realize I they were closing in 15 mins. The waitress insisted that I do take out. There were about 6 guest still eating in the dining room. I was so offended I left. Not good. Never had a place that didn’t want business.

Probably the best Vietnamese you’ll find in Little Rock. It’s not bad but not great. Our go-to is typically the char-glazed pork and the shrimp and boiled pork spring rolls for an appetizer, Thai iced teas, Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio which is BBQ pork with an egg roll, vermicelli rice noodles and veggies and of course fish sauce. My husband typically gets the phở(#3) and loves it. I’m a little bias since I’m Vietnamese and my mom’s is phở is untouchable. My favorite soup lately is the Mi Hoanh Thanh. It’s egg noodles in a sweeter broth with wontons, quail eggs, shrimp, pork, and imitation crab. I’ve already had 3 times this last week for it!

The phở I got was amazing! The broth is really flavorful. Ask for beansprouts(beansprouts, cilantro, spicy pepper, lime, basil) for extra topping! Also add a fried egg and white rice! When you have just the broth left add the white rice and it’s so good!

Been here a few times, I love the«pork sandwich» which is a bahn mi. Cheap and flavorful! Any dish with their grilled pork is also good.

Mike’s Café may be in a worse neighborhood but the prices are better and the food is just as tasty with larger portions. I would skip it and head to the south side of town.

I know this is a phở place, but when trying a phở place for the first time, I usually opt for something they don’t make over and over, day in and day out. I had the T1, a marinated pork and split rice dish whose name I couldn’t pronounce. Guys. It was GR8. I’m usually not a fan of entrees like this, but I think the addition of the fried egg on it really made this dish. I’ll definitely come back for a vermicelli bowl and maybe one day actually try the phở.

If I want to feel like I’m back home where I used to be surrounded by Vietnamese restaurants, I come here(it is the only Vietnamese Phở restaurant here) For what it’s worth, the phở is decent. It’s not as good as back home, but on a cold day or when I’m not feeling too well, or just hung over(jk) phở is my solution! We like the chicken phở, vegetable phở, and chicken fried rice(no msg, although not sure they accommodate this request). I’m sure they use MSG because I’m always downing the water. Just wished they wouldn’t use it in their food. The food comes out pretty fast so that’s a plus. However, the last time we went my husband got sick from either the food or the cup of water!

The Vietnamese food of this restaurant is very good. It is easy to access on the intersection of interstate of I-430 and I-630. The price is very affordable too. I believe the Unilocaler in the LR got it right on the rating. We have order the grilled pork fresh roll and it come with peanut dipping sauce with chop chili. The roll is delicious. The entrée is the grilled pork and pork pancake with broken rice. This is typical Vietnamese rice dish. The grilled pork is perfect. The best dish is the bah bun hue. The lemon grass soup noodle, it has rare beef, fish cake and more. The lemon grass soup is out standing. This is not typical phở dish. I would encourage you to order this dish. The service is fast and food came out quick. The service is attentive. Price is right. What can you ask better than that.

Not too fond of this phở. My broth didn’t taste the same as the usually phở. Smelled weird. Seafood or crab like smell… I don’t like that. Beef wasn’t that good. My phở came out in like 2 minutes… Better had not been a wrong order… and then given to me… Service meh. I thought I couldn’t go wrong with phở… This one is my least favorite phở so far…

This is definitely my go to place whenever I get a hankering for Vietnamese cuisine. I usually get the combination phở with a Thai tea to wash it down. When it’s not phi it’s usually the vermicelli dish with pork, egg rolls and fresh herbs. Service isn’t always consistent but the food is always good. Egg rolls and spring rolls are definitely winners for appetizers.

I will say that this place is uniquely special. There is a homey feeling about Phở Thanh My. I do believe it’s a «mom and pop shop», but I could be wrong. I was first introduced here by my roommate and have loved it ever since. The phở, regardless of which one you try, is absolutely spectacular and always piping hot. I also highly recommend the spring rolls. They come with a single little bowl of peanut sauce that is also peanut-licious. Their fried rice is also magnificent and plentiful regardless of which option you get. I have a few other things to try on their menu, so standby on an updated review. Regardless, everything I’ve had so far is a great indication that I won’t be disappointed.

Food was good and the service was great. I’m originally from California where there is a phở restaurant in every corner. It’s a little inconvenient how I have to plan a trip just for phở, but this was definitely worth it!

I asked my friend to take me to the best Viet restaurant in town. We ordered egg rolls, pork spring rolls, crab rangoon as appetizers. The egg rolls were tiny and overfried. Crab rangoon was not freshly made. Shrimp in the spring rolls had a slight odor. All were«tiny» portions of what you typically get at other Viet restaurants. They offer char-grilled options here. I got the char-grilled pork chop. It was kind of cold. The marinade was different from what I’ve had before – not too bad, but meat was kind of overcooked(tough). I asked my friend again, «You drive all the way to West Little Rock for this?» Obviously, you can’t expect much from Little Rock, but they don’t have much options here. Service was almost zombie-like. Hmm, I’ll probably save my Viet food cravings for another time, another city the next time I visit LR again.

I am so glad that Little Rock has at least one good phở place. My husband and I passed by this restaurant so many times over the years and never noticed it. I wish we had found it sooner — it is consistently delicious! However, don’t expect an elegant atmosphere here. The door handle is covered in duct tape and the service is usually good but can be hit or miss. None of that bothers me because as far as I know this is the only authentic phở place in Little Rock, and I continue to support this restaurant with my dollars as often as possible. If you are new to this type of cuisine(common in this area because our food options are so limited) be sure to do some Google research on the menu items. I’ve checked in at this restaurant over a dozen times and my husband and I have always had great experiences here, but we also know exactly what we like and what we don’t. For example, he enjoys foods such as tripe but I do NOT, so I stick with entrees that I’ve researched so I don’t end up with an unsavory surprise meal. You’ll also want to know how to properly season/spice up your phở or other dish, and how to use any garnishments brought out for maximum flavor. I prefer the rice noodle bowls over anything else on the menu. The taro Boba tea is an excellent treat, but a few times I’ve requested it and they were out of the taro flavor. So you may want to call ahead if you are coming in just for the Boba. To sum it up, the phở here is just as good as the phở found in numerous restaurants in Denver, where there is a phở place on nearly every block. I can’t wait to return now that the weather is getting cooler!

So first off, let it be known that I have no idea what constitutes«good» Vietnamese/Cambodian food. My wife(whom is the only reason we even come here) is Japanese. Not, Japanese American, Japanese. Born-raised-citizen of. So she doesn’t know about Vietnam nor its cuisine, however, she knows«Asian» food in general and a thing or two about noodles. She fell in love with Phở while at a café on our home of Okinawa and also at places in Hawaii. So when we are in Little Rock, she insists on eating here. She also insists that it is good. I have to agree. We are not saying it’s authentic as we have no idea, but taste wise, good to me and wife loves it. This most recent time, I got phở and so did my wife. I’m so sorry I can’t recall the names, I just know hers was the one with chicken and mine had the brisket. I’m NOT a huge vegetable guy, so I asked for mine to be straight up noodles and beef. With ZERO hassle the lady hit me up with exactly what I wanted. Now then my wife is opposite. Okinawans eat very healthy, so she is more of a more vegetables than anything kinda person. She got hers exactly how she wanted. Basically looked like a salad with a tiny bowl of soup under it? Lol. She loved it though so whatever. I got a large(brisket phở) and I think it was delicious. I’m 6’1″, 205, active duty US Army. Aka I eat, good sized portions and need my fuel. I had the large at around 1400(2pm). Wasn’t «hungry» for dinner until around 2030(830pm). So the large is enough. And remember, that’s just meat and noodles. I didn’t add a single bean sprout or onion etc… My wife(as usual) got the small(chicken phở) and loved it. Finished MOST of it. Probably won’t eat for 3 more days but that’s just her lol. She doesn’t eat much. We also got an appetizer of crab wonton. Nothing fancy, just like the taste. Service was fast, friendly, non intrusive. Parking was, well, enough. As in its not a huge lot but plenty of spaces. TV had a sports game on, which is good for me cuz I’ll get bored lol. Plenty of napkins, chopsticks, and spoons at the table. The drinks are huge, you won’t need a refill. 2 drinks Large brisket phở Small chicken phở Crab wonton I’m not sure if I was supposed to, but when signing my receipt it had the tip section so I left a tip. I’m a round up whole number guy, so it came out to $ 30. Seems a bit expensive, but I honestly have to frame of reference and my wife likes it so who cares. Surely you can get cheaper items too. Of course every table has Sriracha sauce on it, which is worth every penny. Love it. Not from LR, or even Arkansas, but for reasons other than phở we usually end up here once every year. And when we do, we’ve eaten here. 4 times now, good every time. Consistent. The reason I give it 3, is because I don’t wanna 4 – 5 star it and some one with actual knowledge of this kinda food be mislead and disappointed. Also again, $ 30(26 before tip) seems barely too much. But not enough To keep us away! It’s good phở, and if you’re for some reason in Arkansas, do you really have a ton of phở choices? Worth a try.
