I totally do not understand the bad reviews — this is a wonderful little restaurant. They have really interesting sandwich items, from Thai spicy chicken to Pork loin swiss, Meatloaf, vegetarian Greek sandwich with hummus. 14 different sandwiches plus salad plates, soup, and homemade desserts. What is not to love? My turkey Swiss Guacamole wrap was warm and awesome. The pasta salad was basic tri-color rotini, but it was fine. I don’t know how big some reviewers think a sandwich should be… They have regular, big, deli-sized sandwiches, and the sides are generous. Are they«expensive»? I didn’t think so, and frankly, you get what you pay for. It costs more to procure and keep fresh, interesting food. If you want cheap food, there’s a Burger king down the block. I got two great lunches and a brownie for $ 20. That’s perfectly fair. As for the service, the young lady at the counter couldnt have been nicer. She was polite, friendly and helpful;, this was my first visit, and she answered questions about ingredients, readily made a bread substitution for us, and brought the food to my table promptly. While I was eating, a young man came over twice to see if I needed a drink refill or anything. I thought the service was great. Finally, the place was spotless and the parking lot had plenty of spaces. We will definitely be back.

Solid fives stars for good old Jimmy’s Serious Sandwiches, try the meat loaf on brioche bun or the smoked turkey sandwich, both were great.

Okay, so the problem is that it’s a little expensive. Or maybe it’s that the portions are too small. Anyway, I suppose the point is that when I spend $ 10 for a lunch, I expect it to be a tad more than I can eat comfortably. Or at least that when I’m finished eating it, I wish I had only one or two more bites. In this case, I wished I had another sandwich. Having said all that, it was fresh, and you could taste it. The chicken on my Thai-One-On was quite delicious. My Vegetarian Basil Tomato soup was hot and also tasty. I felt good after having eaten it. I’m just used to being bust-at-the-seams full after I pay $ 10 for lunch. Especially considering it didn’t come with a drink. At bottom, if the price for what I ate today had been $ 6 with a drink, or $ 5 without, I would have been elated, and I’d be in there every other day. Also, love the staff and owner. They’re all very kind.

Quality food, good prices and consistency. Go for the garden for a guaranteed winner(creatively credited by Jimmy himself as the«house that spinach built» for its popular spinach spread)

Terrible. Sandwiches at the gas station taste better than this place. The owner is rude and arrogant.

i think there was a time that this place was average to okay. it is now terrible. the single biggest suggestion i could make would be to not use wonder bread or whatever equivalent they are using and to also use higher quality meats. getting a sandwich here is like i went to ez mart and bought luncheon meat and wonder bread and went home and made it myself. there is nothing that suggests effort or excellence coming out of this kitchen.

Jimmy’s has hung around long enough to be considered an institution in Little Rock. It has been quite a while since Southern Living Magazine recognized The Garden as a prize winning sandwich. Really, you are going to ride this award for over 20 years, Jimmy??? That is it in a nut shell… living on past glory, not introducing anything new, charging far too much for portions that are far too small and offering tepid, if not flippant customer service at times has just made Jimmy’s not as Serious as it once was. This extends over to the catering side, too. As I have experienced it, the quality has been inconsistent — both as someone who has been served the food and as someone who has ordered catering from Jimmy’s. Again, this too has also been enhanced by less that friendly, «we aim to please» service. Here is a thought, don’t raise your voice(during a phone call) to someone bringing you business. Will I try Jimmy’s again? If the owner will rededicate himself to putting his customers first… I surely will! This was once my absolute favorite restaurant in Little Rock

A locally owned, semi hole-in-the-wall great place to have lunch, and a plus is that a lot of doctors and nurses from the nearby hospitals also have lunch here regularly, so if you get sick or have a heart attack, you’re pretty much in good hands. The food is tasty, priced right, and it’s just a great place to have lunch. Try the twice baked potato as a side. Go, see, eat!

The Thai one on wrap is delicious and for $ 6.75 it’s definitely worth the price. The pecan square was great too. Apparently the same lady has been making the desserts and soups for 20+ years. Want to come back to try the chili rubbed salmon wrap. The employees were very friendly.

I had The Garden Sandwich. It’s pumpernickel bread, with 3 melted cheeses, mushrooms, sunflower seeds, sprouts & their famous spinach salad spread. It was good, but a little pricey for a sandwich.

Jimmy’s Serious Sandwiches is a great lunch option. The staff is always friendly, restaurant is clean, and the wait time is minimal. I typically order your basic turkey or chicken salad sandwich, with a twice baked potato as my side for a change of pace(versus chips of fries). Not to mention that they are in their 20th year– which says it all.

Great sandwiches, and one of the few places I know of in town to get Zapp’s chips. I love the hero, veggie, and I’m excited to try the greek(hummus and peppers) the next time I go!

This place makes really good sandwiches! I like the fact that they are healthy and they have combinations that I haven’t seen at other sandwich places. Of course, my favorite is the turkey, swiss, and guacamole(anything with guacamole is high stars for me!). On my most recent trip, I deviated from my usual and tried the Thai On One! which is hot and spicy Thai spiced chicken wrap with a Thai lime dressing. It was mouth watering. They also have a hummus plate and another sandwich I would love to try called the Garden which won 1st place in a national sandwich contest(like when I was a kid). They have some good sides like pasta salad, soups, and fruit salad. It’s a really good whole in the wall place and frequented by many. I recommend them highly!

I have been going here since I was in elementary school, and love it every time. A few favorites are the hero, thai, and broccoli cheese soup.
