Overall, a poor experience. With so much competition in the immediate vicinity, I assumed a bar/restaurant would need to be at the top of their game to survive. Sadly, my assumption was wrong. The service was mediocre and the food was below average. I ordered rib-eye medium-rare and received a large but very thin steak that was overcooked, was 1⁄3 fat and under seasoned. My wife’s mixed-green salad was essentially iceberg with some romaine thrown in. My daughter’s «twisted mac and cheese» was so bad, she only ate two bites. I’ve never actually experienced bad mac and cheese before — so this was definitely a first. The«Texas Toast» was merely garlic bread and nothing close to real Texas-Toast. On a positive note — the beer was tasty and cold and my wife enjoyed her Chardonnay. The tab was $ 71 for four entrees, two adult drinks and two sodas — which is definitely reasonable when considering price only. This appears to be a bar first and a restaurant second — so keep that in mind when pondering your dinner choices in downtown Little Rock…

Place is very shady. Service is pretty lame. Bartenders are hit or miss depending on the mood they are in. Do yourself a favor and keep walking. Plenty of better places just up the street. I like the heights. Always friendly there. And of course loca Luna as well. One of my favorites.

I really enjoy this place! I found it while in the area for a nursing conference and I’ve been back on several occasions! The staff are friendly and one guy in particular had me and my friend cracking up! The food selection is typical of a sports bar, but not bad at all!

Smells like a natural gas leak. Consistently. Waiters seem confused and lackadaisical. Ordered a whiskey and Coke and was asked if I wanted it on the rocks. 5 of us ordered drinks, 15 minutes later I went to the bar to check on the drinks and couldn’t find anybody. Completely empty back there. We’re afraid the employees may have passed out from the inhalation of all that natural gas. Did I mention it stank and the service was awful. We left. Don’t recommend it. Plenty of better places within a block.

We came in with a big group of patrons and asked that they changed the channel on the tv to accommodate our group(which was only facing our table) and they refused… stating the owner won’t allow it !! Unbelievable!

Not too impressed. Was staying at the Marriott in the Rivermarket so went to Big Whiskey since it was close and I’ve never been. I can’t even remember what I had it was that unmemorable. My friend from out-of-town was with me and I felt the need to apologize and assured him there ARE good restaurants in LR. Meh.

Boring on Fat Tuesday. Boring waiter that didn’t know what was going on. Didn’t know about drink specials… Advertised Fat Tuesday… Nope … Total fail. Chicken nachos had little bitty chicken pieces, was just okay.

Wanted to like this place. Nice bar great service. Fish tacos were horrible. I should have listened to the other Unilocaler. The fish they use is like mush. I thought it was the coleslaw but separated it and it’s definitely the mushy tasteless fish. I should’ve tried the sliders.

3 stars for the Whiskey and service! The fish tacos were the worst I have ever had in my life. People say the burgers are good. I don’t know, we won’t be back but it’s a cool atmosphere. Maybe drink and don’t eat. Ha

I never actually ate here but some of my friends did and thought the food was good for the price point. I mostly hung out with friends, had some drinks and watched the sportsball. Our group(with help from others I’m sure) slowly ran them out of a variety of bourbons, wines and beers. Serviced varied by the evening we were there. A couple of times we had the same person and he was on point and quick and personable. The last night I was there(maybe a Monday) we got a trainee and the staff was confused by our ever expanding group. AMAZINGLY all the bills were sorted out by the time we left and everyone was pleased. Convenient location to my conference hotel and good drink specials.

This restaurant has to be one of the absolute slowest during lunch in the Rivermarket area. I’m not even going to bother reviewing the food as it was cold and took 35 minutes to arrive. Nice people, but if this act keeps up Big Whiskeys will be closed soon. Do not come here if you want a quick lunch. When it does close, good riddance.

I had the blackened chicken pasta which was very good. My husband had the fish tacos and said they were tasty. We sat for a while and enjoyed some basketball as we drank our whiskey and coke. They have so many different choices of whiskey(one reason why we chose this place). So if you love the stuff, come try a few samples. They let you taste test.

I guess you would call this a BW3s at any other location. The food was bland. The service was terrible. And all the tv’s were ill placed. The saving grace was the draft beer special on Sunday.

Not a bad sports bar! In town on business and we stopped by to watch the game. Good food and good service! Lots of TV’s, and they play the audio for important games. They have a big selection of whiskey and beer as well, which is nice. Good service and lots of TV’s available. It’s not a ‘nice place’, but it’s a good bar with all the important bar features you would expect.

Beer was nice and cold, and so was the meal! Cold salmon, cold ribeye. Plus they were playing Europe«Final Countdown» on their radio, and all I could think was I have to pay my geico bill.

I liked the atmosphere, but that was about it. This is a sports bar yet most of their TVs have horrible picture, especially the little ones… which is all you’re going to get(understandably, I suppose) if you’re trying to watch a team that isn’t Arkansas. But, seriously, I could barely see the ball on the screen. Service at the bar and tables horrible– takes forever, and was served wrong food twice. Also, they don’t have a single IPA on tap!

Won’t be going back First of all they wait until the bring me my order to tell me hey we are out of BACON!!! The thing is that it’s loaded fries not cheese and chive fries and I order a burger because it has bacon on it now had they started off with hey no bacon okay fine or even if u come back before the order comes out so I can cancel it… I had a single glass of water and a single beer waitress can’t be found for 20 to 30inutes at a time and when they bring mine and my wife’s order they say oh yea we are out of toast… not to be nagging or needy but a little heads up would be nice even a refill or maybe a coke or whiskey but hey couldn’t because my waitress is no where to be found… very disappointed on a Saturday when I walk in at 9 and there is no customer service…

«A-OK» perfectly describes our experience at Big Whiskey’s. We were bar-hopping down in the river market and had just left the Flying Saucer which had really good German food and a selection of over 200 beers. I had high expectations and what we received was pretty unspectacular. Although I really enjoyed the décor of Big Whiskey’s, we were bummed that the craft beer selection was so little. They had a few of the usual, bottom of the barrel beers on tap for cheaper than the Flying Saucer but my husband, the«beer connoisseur» was bummed. I ordered a frozen strawberry-peach margarita and was bummed because it was flavorless and had huge chunks of uncrushed ice that made it hard to stir, but also made it hard for me to drink. We decided to skip ordering food here as we were wanting to leave and go somewhere with a better beer selection but while we were finishing our drinks, we decided to try the«Fried Pickles and Jalapenos». Awful. There were about 4 fried pickles and the rest were jalapenos and the ranch dressing was too sweet. If you get this appetizer, ask for the«Southwestern» ranch dressing. It’s much better! Overall, it was clean and our waitress was fairly nice and quick, but the beer selection sucked, the place was dead on a Saturday afternoon and the Fried Pickle appetizer was less than appetizing.(See what I did there?). I think I’ll stick to the Flying Saucer or even Sticky’s over this place.

I enjoy Big Whiskeys. It’s always a good place for a burger/wings and drinks. I have visited about 4 – 5 times in the last 2 – 3 years when in town. Sitting at the bar seems to yield quicker service. A good selection of food and drinks. Several different types of shots are available as well. Bartender«Sarah» is very kind, attentive, and conversational with a big smile!
