Optometry & Eyewear Gallery

I’m all for supporting local and small businesses and opted to try the Optometry & Eyewear Gallery since it was close to home and also covered by my insurance. I loved Dr. Surdich Pitra. She was knowledgeable, experienced and professional during my eye exam and listened to my concerns.
What I didn’t like is the pushy staff trying to hustle me into buying contacts or glasses from them citing «only we can get the 90 day supply of Acuvue 1-​Day contacts.» Seriously? Because the Internet isn’t a thing? I also did not like how you are made to feel like your prescription is being held for ransom. I initially only received my contact prescription with a 6 month expiration and had to call back after 6 months for the other half? What kind of crap is that? It didn’t make sense to me then and it still doesn’t make sense to me now especially if an exam is good for 1 entire year. Do they think I’ll overdose on contacts? Perhaps. Will never return to this establishment in spite of an amazing Optometrist. The whole ordeal has just tainted what should be an easy-​going pleasant experience.

Had a great experience with the Dr. and her staff. Everyone was professional in my experience. The Dr was very thorough, and explained things as she went along. Would definitely recommend this shop for your eye care and glasses or contacts.

Had a great experience last Monday as a new patient to this eye doctor. Both eye doctors were very helpful and I got a nice pair of glasses that was ready in 4 days. I recommend this place.

I like to keep things local. I live in Lisle let’s keep the (small business, Support my town) tax dollars in Lisle.
Appointment HAH!!! The receptionist is a complete DITZ!!! How tuff life is raising a 5y/​o. Done that in fact raised TWO! Don’t need your sad storey…
Dr Bell was Very good but as every good dr salesperson tries to sell another test (learn to say NO, And I did)
Pick out glasses (OVERPRICED, Limited selection). Receptionist at work again on sales, «These lens are better then they were» for $ 40 – 80 more, and you Need this… NO Way don’t Bite…
So $ 500.00+ later, I have learned a lesson… Last pair I got at COSTCO, Less then 300 and very happy with them… Dr was good, Selection better, at least it isn’t Walmart or Sam’s club…
