Stayed at the BWI Marriott and ended up eating at champs because the downstairs bar closes at 10PM. Terrible service. Wasn’t crowded but it took the waiter over 20 minutes to finally come over and ask for my order. This after the waitress reminded him twice. His comprehension of the English language was challenging but after three tries finally got my drink order right — how hard is gin & tonic? Ordered crab soup. Wow did it suck. Resembled flour paste and water — mystery meat floating in the white goo. Completely bland. Thought Baltimore was the home of crab soup? Last time i will ever eat here, should have learned my lesson last time — Recommend going any place other than here. Should have just grabbed a hot dog at 7⁄11 when I filled up the rental

Excellent service by Carl! He’s the best… food is pretty good too! Great place to watch sports.

Had dinner here while at the Marriott. Actually happy hour specials are very cheap. However I did not find he nachos and hummus plates very good. Had the Maryland and B&W wings and both were excellent. Very large sports bar with lots of tvs. Very open. Be good for groups. Waiter was attentive. No service issues at all. Beers were very cold. I would certainly return here if staying at the Marriott. I would come here if looking for sportsbar and was in this particular few block area. I would t go out of my way to get here. Overall I give it 3 ½ stars. I didn’t sample enough of menu to give it anything more.

Went here last night for happy hour with some friends and we should have walked out. I started with an IPA draft and it was nearly undrinkable; I mean when was the last time they cleaned the taps?!? Switched to Stella and it was a little better, but not good at all. Wait staff is always thin here so don’t expect quick service. We had nachos and they were disappointing; dry and tasteless. We had the honey wings and they were better. IMO all the food here is overpriced, but it is in a Marriott after all. My advice is to go next door to Chili’s.

People, do yourselves a favor and avoid this place. My brother and I were staying at one of the nearby hotels and we looking for someplace convenient to grab a bite. The service was SO bad. We’ll choose somewhere else next time.

Straight up, my review is not indicative of the norm. I have no idea what Champions is like on a day to day basis, and I also don’t know much about their food. We had a very specific experience with them, and we were really, really happy with it! The night before our wedding in lieu of a rehearsal dinner we had a cocktail party revolving around a particular football game(Alabama). My mother in law planned everything from start to finish, but they were VERY accommodating. They let us bring in our own decorations, balloons and cake, and roped off an entire section of the restaurant for us. They had a portable bar with beer and wine for our guests, and set up a little buffet. The mini crab cakes were delicious, and I heard good things about the sliders. The space is large and clean, and there are a LOT of TV’s, including one really huge one which was beyond perfect for an event revolving around a football game. Champions was perfect for the type of event we were planning, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a similar sports themed dinner or event with around 100 or so people.

Bleh! My husband and I came here for drinks and a little something to nosh on before I had to go to a wedding rehearsal, and I was certainly not impressed. We ordered the crab dip, which for some reason came with pita chips AND Mexican tortilla chips(the white, red and green kind). The crab dip was utterly disgusting. It was literally like someone mixed mayo and cream cheese together, put it in a bowl, and served it to us. It was really gross and had basically no crab in it at all. The drinks that we ordered were pretty weak and small. Given that I was paying $ 12 for a Patron and pineapple, I’d expect it to actually be more than a few sips. I think the only reason people would frequent this place is because it’s in the Marriott and to eat somewhere else, you’d have to drive.

Decent food and drinks for a hotel bar. There’s a fairly large selection of drafts available. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the other reviews. The food and drinks are a little on the pricey side, but that’s to be expected of a bar in the Marriott. Plenty of screens to watch the football games.

Veryyyyy slowwww service for hardly anyone even in there. It’s Saturday night and literally like 10 – 15 people in here and still waiting 15mins for a draft beer. Only came for a beer and waited long enough to work up an appetite so I ordered some wings. Which were wayyyyy over cooked(explains why it took so long) Completely dried up and tough, little sauce, less than mild. Not good. Stand up, wave your arms, yell, do anything you can to get some attention or you will just sit there hungry and thirsty. Ohh and bring your checkbook cause it’s way PRICEY!

ABSOLUTELYDONOTEATHERE. My fiancé and I ate here late one night after picking him up from the airport. Not only did we experience a long wait, but I ended up with FOODPOISONING from an uncooked chicken wrap! Both the hotel and Marriott Corporate(after I filed a claim) did absolutely NOTHING to fix this situation. I was essentially told that since no one else got sick, they could do nothing for me. Marriott Hotels and Champions will never, EVER have my business.

The good news: there was no wait for a table because the place was empty. There are a lot of TVs for sports but no sound even if a playoff hockey game is on. Instead they play awful 90s music. The bad news: the waitress was rude and I planned on complaining to the management, but the guy who brought us are drinks was also incapable of being polite. So, I figure it is systemic to the establishment. Don’t bother to ask for a recommendation on the menu because the staff has no idea what is good. I had a chicken steak and cheese that was very good but the fries were soggy. If you are just looking for beers and an appetizer this might be ok if you’re too tired to walk up he hill to Chilis.

Service is pretty bad, really bad. It’s one thing to be ignored, but attitude on top of being ignored, it’s too much. Food is over priced for the lacking of quality. Plenty of TVs to watch while you wait for service. And wait, and wait you shall

DONOTCOMEHERE!!! If I could give less stars I would. We came here after a wedding for a night cap with about 20 people at 12:00 on a Saturday. I called two days prior to let them know we had a large group coming to the bar late. The person on the phone was rude so I should have known better. I waited at the bar for 20 minutes only to be told that there were«like 100 people» ahead of me and I would be served for a while. I understand there was only one bartender but we told them well in advance to be prepared. I will not give this bar any of my money and will urge people to do the same.

Decent place by BWI — the best in the area I found. Drinks are on the expensive side and food is ok — the staff here is very good though which is why I rated it higher. I had the wings here and they are ok, salads are good here as well.

Arrived around 6:30 on a Sunday night. Took a few seconds to realize it was seat yourself. Took 15 minutes for someone to come take a drink order, a ridiculous amount of time for my turkey burger to come out and it had cheese on it, which i sand it took almost 10 minutes for the waiter to come back for me to tell him it was wrong. Now it’s going to be another 10 – 15 minutes to get another one. Ridiculous. Once the turkey burger came out it had no flavor. I would definitely not eat here again.

Worst service ever. Bottom 3 restaurants I have ever been in. Food below average. 35 min wait for a beer. 4 servers on 20 people in restaurant, ever table dirty. Unbelievable.

Pretty ri5n down sports bar for being at a full service marriot. I would have expected something a little nicer… typical bar food expensive drinks that are rather weak. but really the only place around to grab something quick to eat thats not a chain where u can walk to

I am here in the area for work and decided to head down to champions. It was a slow Tuesday night. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was seat yourself. I sat down and the waiter in very hard to understand English, greeted me. It was clear that he did not like to be in the service business that night. The menu was easy and straightforward to read. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage and nachos. The lemonade rated grainy or more like crystal light and the nachos were pretty good, I added chicken and sauces came on the side so I could pick and choose. The waiter never checked on me, refilled my beverage or asked how things were. I also had to finally get up and walk to the bar to pay and saw him standing in the corner talking to a female employee. I paid and left. This would be an avg three star but the poor service and having to seek out payment at the end downgraded my experience.

Plenty of space. The waitstaff was complaining about how crazy Friday night was(10 people here at the time). The do have drafts available(sam Adams, coors, bud, an IPA and s Adams seasonal). Drafts are $ 5.50 I didn’t eat, but feels like a dive bar atmosphere.

There is no host/hostess. Its sear yourself. The marriott burger is amazing. Defidnetly a plUs, and if your visiting from outside of maryland. Their crab soup is to die for, along with their crab cake entrée. Pure crab, no fillers. Its in the hotels menu, just ask your server for the Chesapeke menu as well.
