Went for breakfast mid-week. Nobody greeted us at the door, we looked around for a while for some kind of human interaction. We ended up figuring out that we should probably just seat ourselves, and we did. A waitress came to our table quite promptly and we were offered beverages and menus. Ordering was quite standard. Then… The fat guy cooking our food was yelling about his space having an argument with our waitress about current events(kid dragged by alligator at Disney). The«n-word» {I know, I made you say it «Seinfeld”} was heard several times. Probably because the gorilla story was shouted about also, as well as parenting advice and random politic nonsense. Despite the fat guy cooking the food being a nuisance to anyone who was within an acre of earshot, the food tasted great! Yea, it was breakfast. And it’s the simplest(yet most important) meal of the day. But it was good, and average for breakfast pricing… But, BRINGCASH. These bastards are too cheap(or stupid) to accept credit cards. And I thought this was 2016. Probably the most valuable advice to this establishment… Start taking credit cards, and tell that fat guy to shut his mouth. You make people feel uncomfortable… Just shut up. And you probably won’t have an empty restaurant. Perhaps takeout could be the solution. Nobody would have to listen to that guy talk nonsense for so long.

Came here on a Sunday to only sit down and find out they don’t sell weiners on Sunday so disappointed that’s the only reason I come here

Cook was not too friendly. Weiners were way too expensive. I don’t like that it was a cash only establishment. Staff could be better groomed. Only one size soda and its overpriced. Could be cleaner.

I love this place and it is probably more of a nostalgia thing than anything. When I went back to RI for the holidays I knew I had to find some time to stop into Wiener Genie. The interior itself is nothing to write home about, but would you really expect anything else for a place like this? I can’t recall ever having bad service here or ever having a kitchen mix up. I always go with two all the way without onions, some fresh hot fries, and of course a coffee milk to top it off. Mostly just because you can’t get coffee milk in NC so might as well appreciate it while I’m there. I love everything about the wieners from the bun to the loads of celery salt. If you are looking for a quick lunch and have some cash, I would recommend stopping in here.

I didn’t have any expectations visiting this place from the outside it looks like a convenience store that was run down and past it’s time with old memorabilia covering every single inch of the walls. You can tell this was the spot or probably still is for your late night munchies. As for the weiner there is no genie that can make this taste anywhere near delicious. I couldn’t figure out if it was the meat sauce or the onion salt but it had a weird flavor to it. The French fries were also greasy it was like I was testing my body to see if I can have a heart attack this year… in my head all I can think about was YOLOYOLO… Most likely won’t be coming back to this joint, I’ll eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before giving this place another shot.

Not Very Good Pros: Cool old school setup Greasy Spoon Quality to it Cons: Below Average Food Not Cheap for the Quality Simply walked into this Cash Only business looking for 2 wieners and a small soda. I only had 5 bucks in my wallet and when I went in, I realized that all I could afford were the wieners. A little surprised, I got the food, no drink, and ate the gaggers in the car. They were Weak at best. In a state with an abundance of wiener shops, I would avoid this one. 5 bucks for 2 wieners is a rip off and they weren’t very good. So why bother. Thanks

I’m not from RI and turned up my nose the first time my husband tried to take me here. But oh boy has that changed! It is now a MUST stop when we are in town. Admittedly, I have only ever had wieners and fries, but they are great!(And who goes to a place with«wiener» in the name for tuna salad, right?) Service is always fast and I think I saw that they are doing wieners on Sundays now.

Katie sums this place up nicely in her review when she says Weiner Genie is your«typical greasy spoon diner» but it does have its perks. The location has plenty of parking and in comparison to most wiener joints in RI, it is pretty roomy inside. The dining area has plenty of booths and large counters with stools. They also have a pretty big menu and call their shakes cabinets! Good olé’ RI style! A friend and I visited on our lunch break. We ordered two wieners each and split an order of fries. We were originally going to order a large fry but the waitress warned us about the extra large portion. I appreciated her honesty and we opted for the small fry, which was more than enough for the two of us. They also keep ketchup and vinegar on the tables for those fries, which makes them extra yummy! The food was tasty and affordable but not the kind of food one should eat too often if you’re watching your waistline! Could it be cleaner? Yes. Could the staff be a bit better groomed? Yes. But, there is just something about RI wiener joints when the food doesn’t taste quite as delicious unless it is prepared by an old hairy man with a beer belly…

I went to Weiner genie last Tuesday night. 2 other people and myself walked in at around 7pm to an empty counter. After waiting there for service for about 2 minutes I noticed their cook was sitting at the bar eating, at no time does he acknowledge we are standing there. After about 2 or 3 minutes he gets up, walks slowly to put his plate in the sink, washes his hands and walks over to us, never making eye contact or saying a word to us. He grabs his pad and just looks at us, i guess this is my cue to tell him what i want. I had not had weiners in years so I asked him how many weiners does someone usually order if they are having dinner, he stares at me for about 5 seconds, then says in a very condescending voice«…however… Many… You … Want», I place my order and sit down. The waitress brings us out drinks as soon as we sit down, about 5 minutes later the food gets there. When the food gets there it taste microwaved, the bun taste stale, not at all what I remember from this place. We never see the waitress again so getting a refill on our drinks is out of the question I guess. We were the only customers in the place so I guess the waitress and cook are hanging out in the back room because noone was around. We finish eating and are waiting for our bill which never comes. After waiting close to 10 minutes I decide to wait near the register. It takes someone a couple minutes to come out and let me pay what I owe. I will never be back. In a state where almost every pizza place sells weiners, there is no reason for me to come back to this dive. If the service were better I would at least consider supporting a small local business if I am in the area, but I felt like I was more of a burdon to them, I got the feeling they didnt want to work so us being their was an inconvenience. Their were many dirty tables and the counter was sticky. Again, they were dead so this should all be clean, I see it as a sign of bigger issues behind the counter. No wonder the place was dead, I bet I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Great burgers, wieners, fries& onion rings. It’s your typical greasy spoon diner. quick, friendly service and cheap prices. Been going there since I was little and it never disappoints!
