I’ve been coming here for about 10 years. This place is consistent with their food quality and the prices are unbeatable! I get the veggie omelet with no tomatoes and I add mushrooms. It’s literally the best omelet and no other coney compares! I bring all my friends here to try it and they all agree, best omelets around!!!

When I’m in D town this is my first stop. The chili is awesome and people watching is bad ass. Coney dogs and free entertainment, win win in my book.

This 24 hour restaurant is conveniently located off Dix and Cicotte. My son ordered a hamburger and a coney dog my other son ordered a Western omelet well done and I ordered two scrambled eggs hard with rye bread and everything was made to order perfect it was on time they use Pepsi products and their coffee is fine.

Very rude and in attentive wait staff. We showed up this morning for breakfast, the place was full, so we stood waiting for 20 minutes for a table. Just when a table was finally being cleared off, a group of three loud mouthed arrogant men waltzed in wearing their Viet Nam veteran garb, and told the waitress that they are not used to waiting for a table. They then went in front of the line and took the table that we had waited for for nearly 20 minutes and the waitress and manager did absolutely nothing and pretended that they did not know — even though they clearly saw that we had been waiting there and after greeting us 20 minutes before. We stopped in about two months earlier and the eggs were very bad and thought it was just a bad day for them so we thought we would give them a second chance — and this was what we experienced the second time around. Told the wait staff about the above, she did nothing and I told them that my wife and I would not be back. I thank our vets for their service — however that does not give them license to act arrogantly and rudely and dis respectful to people. My wife who had knee surgery and had been standing in line for 20 minutes only to have these arrogant vets from Canton walk in and act as if they own the place and the manager did nothing about it. I guess they don’t need our business. Wont be back, the food is not worth the wait or the hassle.

The food is just ok– many better coney islands in Detroit area! They recently have been watering down the chili I think. Everytime I eat there lately it’s really thin and watery. After the bar– the service sucks! 4 of us waited 2 hrs for a chicken salad and 3 coneys with ff. when we complained to the waitress and asked to speak to the owner she said«he won’t care. You’d be better off dealing with me» and refused to get him. She was defiantly drunk or on something herself she acted high as hell! she was more interested in flirting and sitting on laps than doing her job. And the cast of characters in there that time of night is not pleasant either!

Good after bar food. And being drunk but that’s not saying much. But be prepared for all of downrivers finest. Icp fans and«thugs» still rockin outdated fubu gear acting hard. Man they have bad chili. Cheap frozen burger patties. And I hate that have crinkle cut fries and use shredded cheese on the chili cheese fries. What else… it’s nice when the county crowd if there. Loud country music and big ol bikers. That’s when it makes sense. Not a buncha white boys acting down. Lol If u want a real coney and not a fake one head to dulys. They makem right. I have went here and it’s packed but that just shows you the standard in Lincoln park. Trash. Hahaha

In Detroit for my sons hockey tourney. On way to airport, decided to grab chili cheese fries and coneys. Unilocal pulled up Dix and we stopped in. Place is like an old local diner. The chili cheese fries were outstanding and the Reuben was Off the chart. Best food we had all weekend. Friendly staff and very inexpensive! Also accepted credit cards. SO from Dallas.

Best place to go after the bar but try to get there early so you can beat the«hip gangsta wannabes» that come from nearby bars or arrive after they leave. Also, good for breakfast which is served anytime. Friendly service that will make fun of your fat friend with you. Plus there’s usually some downriver girls there after the bar who think they’re hit stuff but they’re not. So if you strike out at the bar/club you have a chance to redeem yourself or just make fun of them for wearing the sluttiest outfit wal mart sells. Overall the food is real good with good service and great place to people watch.

This place could get 5 stars on the people watching, alone. Prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good, for a coney. Being open 24⁄7 is great.

Okay, I know. 5 stars for a coney. If you grew up in Lincoln Park, this is the REALDCI, unlike some people who call Downriver Coney«DCI» I love the way they grill their pita bread. Sometimes I will just order that. I’ve never had a disappointing meal here and the portions are right. As some other people mentioned before, it is cash only, and there is usually only a server or two working, so patience is a virtue. The good news is that everything they make cooks fast so you don’t have to wait long :)

Coney places are everywhere, we all know that. And this place is the ONLY place I will go out of my way for. My favorite chili cheese fries and dogs in Detroit. Yes better than Lafayette and All American those places to me pass but I have no idea where they get their reputation from. Must be all lore. great everything else at good prices. Their breakfasts rock too. Open 24 hours.

Yes someone was murdered inside. But isn’t that more of a reason to check it out? Like others have said the food Is not five star but will fill you up for very little cash. If you find yourself here around 1am things get crazy. Sometimes a midget will come in and cause all kinds of chaos. If you are looking for some grub in the hood this is where it’s at.

The first time I came here I was astounded by the ghetto-ness of the place. It was like I was walking into a rap video… the music was blaring and the crowd was all«gangster»…Last night the crowd wasn’t too bad. They didn’t have the music blaring, and the food was pretty good. The best thing this place has going for it is that it’s open 24/7…so if you’re ever in the hood, this place is all good!

I rated this 5 stars AS A CONEY. Hahah, it’s definitely no high-end restaurant, but it’s the best coney around. CASHONLY! Okay… There’s usually only one waitress here, so don’t expect top-notch service and attention. You’ve gotta yell across the room at them if you want a refill or something to go with your meal, they’re used to it. The food here is good but not too greasy, which I love. It’s cheap, like a double bacon cheeseburger is about $ 4.00 and it’s delicious. They serve breakfast any time, too. Free refills on pop and coffee, can’t forget that. It can be chaotic and smokey. There is no «no smoking» section, so sit by the door if you need oxygen. Order their fries well-done, you won’t be disappointed.

As far as Coney Island’s go, this is the best! It is crazy that you can still smoke in restaurants, but at this place it is part of the dining experience. You gotta get your Coney(No Onions) or with onions if you are into that sick taste. And you gotta get chili cheese fries! Drink your pepsi(the only coke sold here comes in white powder form usually in 8s or teeners) threw a straw as to not get any sores from the not so clean cliental. If you are there for breakfast(served anytime), it is good too! Oh yeah, this place is only open 24 hours… unless there is a shooting. They will close up until the police give the okay. Is all this worth the risk??? yeah, It is. it most definately is! Bring Cash and tip the waitress about the same as what your meal costs. Food this good this cheap isn’t too common anymore. DON’T ever bring kids! or old people… and if you come with more than 4 people or a gun you are an idiot.

Coney Islands are a Michigan Phenomena that I wish would come to San Diego. On a recent trip back to the motherland, I was informed that I «had to» stop at DCI, just to experience it. The 24 hr establishment not so different than any other CI in MI. In my formative years I spent a lot of time at Walt’s CI in Waterford and honestly the food is pretty much the same. Deliciously satisfying after a long night of bar hopping and causing trouble. I opted for the coney dog. A slim greyish thing covered in delicious chili, very similar to the Hormel stuff in a can you can buy at your local grocery store, except it’s a bit meatier. A slim line of yellow mustard and several chopped onions topped it off. On the side we had chili cheese fries, hot crinkle cuts topped with shredded melted mild cheddar, and the same chili that was on the dog. Walt’s(before they closed) used to use waffle fries which I think were a better option, despite the occasional cough drop found in the mess. Dix accepts cash only, and I hear it’s pretty sketchy at night attracting all sorts of weirdos. A few years back the cook was murdered while working so they say. But it’s cheap, filling, and the food is served hot. Be careful if smoking bothers you… MI still allows smoking indoors in restaurants, and my non-smoking booth shared a backrest with a smoking booth. I guess it adds to the ambiance.
