Needed Lunch – Pronto! The Sun-room care was closed for why I don’t know, so I was directed to the main dining room. There was no-one there, so I kind of stood around, and in a minute or so, two ladies showed up to seat me and provide a menu. After a few more minutes that I would have wished for, came back to take my order. I asked for the Caesar salad with chicken, and a glass of water. In a relatively short amount of time, here came the water: in a lovely goblet with ice, and then the salad. It was a generous portion, freshly chopped romaine lettuce, grated Parm, light, crunchy croutons, and a sliced chicken breast that was of an adequate size, well seasoned, but a teeny bit on the dry side. Four grape tomatoes, and a light, but adequate salad dressing. Linen napkins, a lovely view. A bit spendy for a poor gal, but reasonable. all things considered. The lady server was friendly but not overbearing. I’ll go back.

Quality here has dramatically decreased. Once upon a time the food was worth the prices, but today I could barely choke down half a hamburger. Ordered a hamburger medium-rare after some haranguing over it being a whole ten minutes before official lunch hours(is this McDonalds?). A portion of the lettuce on the burger was rotting, the bun had a small spot of mold, and the Cole slaw was rancid. The burger came out well done, hard enough to double as a hockey puck. I didn’t mind because, given the state of the rest of the food, I figured the chef was just trying to prevent me being sick. The only reason this gets two stars is because I feel bad for the waitress, who was obviously trying. What a terrible position to put your staff in. Honestly in the end I’m just glad I didn’t get sick. I should have driven to a McDonalds. I suspect this is one of those horror shows you see on that Gordon Ramsey show.

Nice atmosphere and setting. Decent menu and pricing. The service was DEPLORABLE. 4 tables to serve on this quiet evening and the waiter forgot my salad twice, served me someone else, s meal, then brought me my burger with the mayo on it that I had asked to exclude. Still no salad, that for the third time he said he’d get right on. Never saw the guy again though he kept hitting other tables and bringing the wrong drinks apparently. Food was okay. Service a total failure. in the end had to ask a busboy for our bill sans salad please, and then couldn’t even get someone to pick up the payment. switched to cash, zero tip and left. Try one of the other restaurants first!

Stopped in for lunch on a quiet Monday. Very few other customers, yet service took forever. They did not seem understaffed on the floor, but maybe they were short in the kitchen. Food was ‘meh’ at best. Nice looking place, with a nice view, but not much effort put into the food or service. Apparently the whole resort was recently sold, so I’m willing to give them another shot once the new management has had a chance to fully take charge. It would be a shame if they couldn’t do a better job with this place.

Don’t get the Huevos Rnacheros! This was retched. The description sounded fairly good. But when I got it so many of the ingredients were missing or poor substitutes. It was supposed to have salsa but instead of salsa they put pasta sauce on it, aside from the taste(seasoning), the mushroom and celery really gave it away. You cant just ad cumin to pasta sauce and think no one will notice! It also had no Queso Fresco, an attempt to put another cheese on it was not attempted, nor the sour cream. The black beans were the whole black beans and they were to the side just on the plate, not in a little dish or mixed in with the food. Everything was therefore wet with bean juice. The eggs and pasta sauce was put on top of 2 of the small corn tortillas placed side by side, with the wet beans and the pasta/egg combo the tortillas were basically mush at the bottom and just corn halos. It was supposed to be flour tortillas but I don’t think they could have taken the soaking either. So as I sat staring in awe about the mess on my plate and the waitress came by and ask if everything was OK and I told her NO. She asked if the cook could fix it and I explained how they could not really fix it if they didn’t have the ingredients. I told her I would just eat the eggs and that I wasn’t all that hungry anyway. The manger never came by and they said they would comp the coffee. When looking back there was a really funny aspect of this dinning disaster. My son ordered bacon with his breakfast and they asked if we would like it crispy or softer. He said softer and it was of course crispy as can be. We wouldn’t have actually been disappointed had they not asked us how we want it. We order bacon then get bacon:). They actually doubled down and set themselves up for failure! The rest of the meals were mediocre. Luckily Lincoln City has some fantastic places to eat. Try the Black Fish, Kylos…

I was staying on the property and decided to try the food. I also read the raving reviews about the food and service. When I got there there was only one waitstaff for approximately 20 tables. I had to wait for them to clean a table. When I was finally seated the waitperson said they would be back in a few minutes and asked if I wanted anything. I ordered a glass of water and my wife ordered a cup of coffee. After numerous attempts to get the cup of coffee and nearly 20 minutes of waiting. My wife and I got up and left. Before we left I heard the couple in the booth behind is say, «the service is pretty poor here and we aren’t coming back here… ever!» Before we left we went to the front desk where there was 4 front desk clerks and a front desk manager. We explained the situation and was simply told, «sorry about that.» I’ve worked in customer service so I understand abut the importance of providing good service. Regardless how excellent the food is if you can’t even get it served why even bother going here? If I could give the Sunroom minus stars I would’ve!!!

The good: The hashbrowns were hands down the best I’ve ever had. They did the perfect job of browning them to get them cripsy, but not overly cooked. The scenery is great and the service was really friendly. Tried the ham and bacon as well, both were done perfectly. The bad: The Eggs Benedict was nearly perfect other than them adding either a weird type of butter or too much butter to the muffins. Also, a bit expensive which was to be expected.

Been here a few times and always for breakfast. Have tried eggs with bacon and ham. Also tried the corned beef hash. Hashbrowns with everything and of course some coffee. It’s convenient if you’re staying at the hotel, the food is decent, and the service is respectable. There are better places but when you’re at a hotel it’s just easy to eat there sometimes.

The creamy tomato soup was heaven. The crab dungeness sandwich(FYI– dungeness crab is found on the sea beds, only in Western Coast of North America) was above average, my daughter’s chicken tenders and fries were fresh and crispy. My wife’s prawn diablo was spicy and juicy. Overall, a great place to eat. And I am from California where I pay almost 10% sales tax. Oregon has no sales tax. So, the entire meal was only for 35 bucks!!! They also had crayons and coloring sheet for my daughter.

I came here with a friend for a weekend get away and originally we wanted to try the Blackfish Café but couldn’t find in the rain and dark so we decided to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants at the Salishan Resort since we were staying there. It was fairly empty when we got there only 2 different families there since we had dinner fairly late. I ordered a custom burger with 1⁄3 meat patty, pastrami, grilled onions and Swiss cheese on top of a ciabatta bun. It came with a big side of fries. My friend had the steak and garlic fries. The garlic fries were good. The steak I have to say looked small and overlooked. She finished her steak and left feeling hungry… hmmmmm…not good considering it was a bit pricy. The dining area was great and spacious. The staff was very friendly and this place is a nice place to get a nice lunch but with a nice selection of great eats for cheaper, this would not be one of my top choices unless you’re in a time crunch or it’s really late and you’re looking for something convenient.

I give the sun room here at Salishan three stars, although they should get four, the price here is a big turnoff. Once should not have to spend almost $ 20 per plate for a good breakfast. You are definately spending money at resort prices here. The food is good, but to charge what they do, takes it down a notch for me. I had the eggs benedict, and they have several varieties to choose from. They also have all of your standard breakfast fare. The service is appropriate, all though at times can get a little slow as the staff does like to goof and play around just a little too much. You only realize this once you see actually how many people are working in the dinning room, and you have a different person doing everything from bringing water or juice, to your actual food to your bill. A lot of staff for not that many people.

The Sunroom, Salishan’s café, is the best unknown restaurant on the Oregon coast and probably within all of Oregon. Salishan boasts three restaurants: in addition to the Sunroom Café, it has a formal restaurant and a lounge. Although a single kitchen no doubt serves all three, this review is for the Sunroom Café only. The atmosphere is first class. Not only is the Sunroom upscale on the inside, it commands a sweeping view of Salishan’s lovely golf course, which is only occasionally marred by the presence of golfers. And — the Sunroom ISAFFORDABLE. We advise you of this because, every time we dine there, very few of the twenty or so booths, with their massive carved wooden tables, are occupied. We can only assume that a lot of hungry people are driving past the Salishan intersection, scared off by Salishan’s pricey reputation, unaware that a great lunch in a great room with a great view at an affordable price is just a left turn and a couple of hundred yards up the access road. Service averages very good, but it varies between poor and excellent, with nothing in between. Poor happens when the person taking your order cannot understand what you are saying; but rest assured that, when you exceed his vocabulary, he will summon someone who not only speaks English but is knowledgeable regarding the menu and will provide excellent service. The lunches we’ve enjoyed there have always been very good. All the sandwiches, including the hamburger, have been great, not just for taste but for size; and you can order any of the Sunroom’s Dagwoods with fries, slaw or fruit. Fries and slaw are both good, but the fruit is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Salads are very good and may be too big for you to finish. The beer list is limited and focused on the usual American Sparkling Waters, but it does include Black Butte Porter, which is real beer. Of course, wine and a full bar are also hidden somewhere behind the kitchen entrance.
