Decent food. Gets 1.5 stars in my home town, DC. But pretty good for immediate vicinity(Arby’s, pizza, McD’s, cheap Chinese). Worst ventilation system ever? My coat and jeans smelled like a burrito for the rest of my trip. Yuck! And why no beer? Pizza place next door has it

The place at Shawnee is awesome. Forget about the chains, come here instead. Don’t expect fancy, shiny artifacts to distract you from the food. I ordered the Burrito Bowl and they packed it in. For just $ 1 you can get a huge spoonful of guacamole, try that at the chains. Yes the service is great and the ingredients are fresh.

this is our home town version of Chipotle. And the Chicken, Black Bean, rice, fresh Corn and Tomatoe Salsa, sour cream, cheese, and Guacamole… is the best.

After receiving an invitation to try Jalapenos again, I visited with a burrito fanatic who has traveled the country hunting down the best burritos. However, she ordered a burrito bowl, so we’ll never know what she thinks of Jalapenos’ burritos. Anyway, I ordered steak this time and absolutely loved it. Again, it didn’t have that cilantro-lime tang mastered by Chipotle, but the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Jalepenos is doing its own thing and doing it well. Also, the assortment of hot sauces and loudly clicking illuminated sign in the lobby make for extra Mexican fun.
