Been told by former employee’s that the chips left in your basket when you are done go back in with what will be served to the next customer. Also if you order an item and they make a mistake and you send it back that item will sit until another person orders it. These are not disgruntled employee’s either just people who have moved on to bigger and better things. Truly knowing this I do not want to give it one star. Think twice before you dine here. So gross!

This is a classic Mexican restaurant. The chips and queso are a must. The menu is extensive and has a little bit of everything to cater to the needs of your Mexican taste buds. I suggest getting a margarita pitcher to liven things up. The portions are very large at an affordable price. The food could not have come out much faster than it did… Incredibly fast service!

I came because of the 4 stars? Maybe the Margaritas are good, because the food is not. The salsa is thin like a marinara. The guacamole is puréed like baby food. My fajita had hardly any meat, extreme amount of grease, and veggies not sautéed they are very hard. I say skip it.

I love this place. I had the cheese stuffed poblano peppers with salsa, beans and rice and it was yummy and so delicious. Love the Gold Tequila Margaritas and they always give plenty of good chips and salsa. Everything always tastes good here.

Best hands down. Their pico is the cat’s meow. I cannot find another place that has pico as well(& correctly) made as their’s. I’ve never been disappointed by a meal or drink there — that says a lot

Stopped by for a quick lunch break while out in Lima, and wasn’t disappointed here. They serve up your typical Mexican cuisine in a timely manner with good and quick service. The chile releno was good but the chile was a little piqeño. The chalupa was decent and the rice and beans were not bad. Tons of chips and salsa to start and always kind of fill me up anyways. Decent typical Mexican food, can’t go wrong here

This is a great place if you want something cheap. Your beer Is served in a frozen glass and your food is served sizzling hot. Their chips and salsa are delicious and the cheese dip is great with the chips. A great place for a quick meals when your in need of a Mexican fix. Although it may not be truly authentic it is still delicious!

First of all, this place is not at 715 Cable Rd. It is farther down Cable — 1448 I think is the address. No matter as we’ll never return. I’ve tasted some pretty bad Mexican over my 56 years on the planet but this was, hands down, among the worst. Lets start with the chips and salsa and the margarita — with salt, on the rocks. Very obviously not house made but the usual deplorable, out of a gallon jug sickening sweet mix. What every Mexican restaurant that really doesn’t even try uses. If there was a thimbleful of tequila in it, I’d be surprised. The chips and salsa were«ok» at best. The chips seemed rather stale. The salsa was passable but nothing to get excited about. We should have stopped right there, asked for our check and left. But, we were famished and decided to try one of their lunch specials — a beef taco, a beef enchilada, rice and beans. What absolute swill. The enchilada had a spoonful of some neon orange sauce on it that brought nothing to the party. The«ground beef» in both the taco and the enchilada was tasteless, gray in color and obviously very low quality. The refried beans are in the same gray and tasteless category. The rice that was tucked under the taco had no texture — cooked beyond recognition — and no flavor. It was also more like a rice pilaf as it had peas and carrots in it. They probably buy it by the bagful from some third rate supply company. It is definitely not house made. And, if it is, the chef should be immediately dismissed. We each managed exactly one bite of each of the items on our plates then summoned the waiter(with the«I could care less» attitude), asked for our check, paid the bill and got the hell out of there as quickly as possible never to return. I had to laugh to myself when he asked if we’d like to go containers — obviously taking note that we ate next to nothing of our meals. My thought was«sure, if there’s a trash container between here and the door marked«to go.» Should have been a tip off to us that this place had next to no customers at lunch time on a Saturday afternoon. I see a review from Kiarash Z. dated 5−23−08 describing pretty much the same as I just did. I guess things haven’t changed in 5 years. As for«looking for a Mexican jewel in Lima» — good luck. We drove to a couple of others before choosing this place. The others were in such scary locations we didn’t bother to get out of the car. Still being famished, we drove down the road to Kewpee Hamburgers(never had one before) who had so much business they could have farmed it out. Burger, fries and malt were tasty. Their chili — not so much — must be an acquired taste. My recommendation for La Charreada: drive on by. You’d be better off with the junk from some national fast food chain.

I’ve always loved La Charreada. Sure, it’s not the most authentic restaurant out there, but come on, we’re talking about Lima here. The same city that protested«Rent» being put on at the Civic Center. Gotta cater to your area’s tastes, however bland they may be. So you’ve got your basic fare of semi-authentic Mexican foods. Go into any restaurant like this and you’ll find things just like this on the menu. The chips and salsa are good, all of the entrees are quite delicious, I’ve never been served a bad meal here. What really sets La Charreada apart is the service. I’ve never once had anything approaching bad service here. I’m always treated well, special orders are always done accurately, refills are usually prompt, and the food comes out very quickly. Honestly the only complaint I can levy against La Charreada is the hideous carpet. Like, good god, that stuff is an affront to the eyes. Oh yeah, and the Cable Rd location is definitely the better of the two, so keep that in mind.

Way better food then the other Lacharreada on 309. Great place for a group night out for dinner. The dishes are made fresh, the service is pretty nice, and the location is nicer in my opinion then the other one. If you have a choice between this location and the one on 309/harding highway, pick this one.

A truly mediocre restaurant, La Charreada is held in high regard by students at nearby Ohio Northern University. Unfortunately, this is mostly hype. LaCha has the token giant margaritas, giant burritos, and giant fajitas one would come to expect from a token Mexican place. The service when I went was at best mediocre and at worst nonexistant. I was served water once(no refills) over a 2 hour dinner, and my dinner, when it finally arrived, was definitely less than stellar. For the price, the food isn’t too bad. However, if you’re from the Southwest or want really good Mexican food, you should probably keep searching.

I’m sorry the other person had such a bad taste in their mouth… I have been here probably a 100 times, no joke. Whenever I have someone come in from out of town, I take them here, and they love it; as do I. Tip: ask for their cheese sauce for your chips, you’ll love it. It is heaven in a bowl. I’ve never had a bad meal, and like I said, I’ve eaten here a hundred times. They have great food, it is cheap, and fast service. I’d recommend to any one whom enjoys Mexican food.

Our meal was excellent. I ordered the La Charreada fajitas, and everything was served on a sizzling hot plate within minutes. The fajitas were amazing. The helping was huge. We also ordered the cheese dip(queso dip), which I recommend. My wife ate a quesidilla, and loved her meal too. The margaritas are huge. All of this, and a great price too. You have to try it here!

My taste buds likely were spoiled while living in Arizona, California and Chicago, but Lacharreada tastes more like microwave meal than Mexican grill. On the plus side, service was super fast and friendly, and dinner was cheap. Minuses included awful cheese enchiladas, gritty chile rellenos, flavorless rice and pale, oatmeal-like beans. The salsa was passable but far from good, and the chips seemed a bit stale. I’ll keep searching for a Mexican jewel in Lima.
