This Panera in Libertyville is the best. I would drive a few miles more to this location because it is more cozy and pleasant compared to the other ones in the area. The staff is helpful and friendly there. I like this traditional design, and the space of the restaurant is conveniently arranged. I recommend it.

The general manager here, I think his nametag said Mentor, was amazing. He was all over the dining room, clearing tables, checking on customer satisfaction, and making sure things were running smoothly. I had ordered a new soup that I didn’t care for and he graciously brought me a different soup within minutes even though I told him it was unnecessary.
First time in the new location and will come here more often!

If you want bagels in Libertyville, you should go to Bagels By the Book located in the same strip mall.
If you want coffee you should drive further north to Hansa.
If you are looking for a place to hang out and chat over a mediocre bagel and ok coffee with unlimited refills, unless this store has its own policy on that, this is a good place. You can grab a corner seat with an outlet nearby and get some work done, too.
The staff is usually very friendly. They have that going for them.

My favorite PANERA! Yes. I read once that Panera is Panera. No. There are Paneras, and Paneras. No, they are not! Libertyville Panera is the best. I always eat at Panera when I travel, and the difference is huge — specially staff.

Staff isn’t very friendly or welcoming here.
They never refill the coffee, and the staff don’t have a proper working knowledge of their menu (the guy making my greek salad was uncertain what the ingredients were, and kept looking at the board for clues. No, he was not new.)
Go the extra few miles to the Vernon Hills location, it’s worth the trip.

Overpriced bagels and sandwiches. Quality is hit or miss. Their cream cheese isn’t very good and comes in individual little packages and just throw it in a bag and send you on your way.

Worst cinnamon roll I ever tasted! They should warn you they put orange or orange peel in them! Bagels are fine, more bready than bagely, but they are way overpriced. Next time, I will go next door to Bagels by the Book — better prices and quality is same or better.

I really liked this Psnera Bread location. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte and it was awesome. I chilled for a little bit and wrote some Unilocal reviews using their wireless internet. Definitely a comfy location!

Panera has really upped their game!
The ingredients are much more fresh than any other sandwich chain out there (corner bakery, subway, etc…)!
So even though you’re paying extra, you definitely get what you pay for!

I’ve been coming to this particular Panera location nearly every Saturday morning for two years. I go there for the spinach and bacon soufflé and the light roast coffee. It doesn’t get much better. My daughter and I get some quality time together here, and we really enjoy it. The staff is typically pretty good and accommodating. Sometimes I «reserve» my meal ahead of time because they sell out fast. Of the Panera locations I’ve been to, this one is the best. It is big, people are friendly, and it is comfortable. Food quality seems to be a notch above the rest.
I wish that the staff did a better job relationship building. I’m sure they recognize me because I am there so frequently, and always ordering the same items, but they don’t say or do anything to make me think they’ve ever seen me before. They are friendly, though, and I have no plans to stop coming in.

Two employees recognized me during my last two visits. That’s nice!

A national chain bakery? This must stink ! After one recent reluctant visit with coworkers, I must applaud the place for its clean simple appearance along with an attractive display of breads and baked goods.
At my lunch time visit, the prices were very reasonable with a very good sandwich, salad, and soup selection. My half sandwich and Cesar salad combination was taking longer than I expected to receive. I then noticed that my Cesar salad was being individually prepared fresh. I was impressed that each salad would be made in such a fashion.
Panera’s efforts were worthwhile. I am converted and no longer a skeptic.
