Morgan’s Bar & Grill

Morgan’s is a nice dive bar with friendly bartenders and has tasty breaded buffalo wings with a nice kick. There is a decent selection of beer on tap and they also carry Mundelein’s Tighthead brewery products. 50 cent wings on Monday night (not sure if this is a daily or weekly special). Overall good experience.

As someone who regularly relies on Unilocal — particularly Unilocal photos — to get an idea what to expect, I was a bit put off by the wings at Morgan’s. What I got wasn’t like the previous photos. In short, my wings were not the «lightly breaded» wings described on the menu and displayed on Unilocal,but were some rather nastily over-​breaded chunks of flour with some below average sauce and some meat hidden in there somewhere. See my photo for reference. I also ordered a «Deluxe Pizza» which included sausage, onions, mushrooms, green onions and black olives. The crust was really tasty, crisp, and perfectly cooked, the sauce not bad/​not great, but I had a difficult time finding anything that resembled sausage in the pizza. While all the other ingredients were plentiful, sausage hardly made an appearance. It also tasted like it needed some salt, something an adequate amount of sausage would have probably rectified. Last thing was the service. The waitress was pleasant and prompt, but failed to give me a last call, which would have been a nice thing to know.

It’s the terrible food that you expect. It wasn’t busy on this Saturday afternoon. The server took forever.
I tried mac n’ cheese wedges, fish n’ chips, BBQ ribs, and the shrimp pops. The plates look big because they come with lots of french fries and a thick slice of garlic bread. The coleslaw is a soupy mayo mess. The shrimp pops are good. It’s like giant fishballs deep fried.
It might be better with alcohol.

Really good grilled salmon and tator tots! Unfortunately the ribeye steak sandwich was not good at all. And the mozzerella sticks did not taste very good either.
While some of their food was good and some not so good, the restaurant was lively and the service was nice. Floor was dirty though.

Would leave zero stars if I could. This place is going downhill fast. The owner and new manager are terrible. They are rude, obnoxious, and clueless. The food quality is poor and they do not know how to run a kitchen much less a restaurant.
Bobo is missed and we will not be going back.

We love Morgans and go there frequently. It has excellent food — significantly way above average for pub food. I shouldn’t even call it pub food, it is so good. We have brought many people there for game watching or just a fun evening out — always positive reviews from the group. Great deals on drink specials on different nights. The service is outstanding. Always pleasant and efficient without rushing you. Although our kids are in their teens now, we’ve always been very comfortable bringing them here through the years for lunch or dinner. It is a fantastic neighborhood place with lots of food and beverage choices.

This place is just what we like in a local bar. Good pub food, friendly service, and cold beer along with sports on TVs. Great place for an afternoon game or for a drink after shopping. Yummy burgers.

Had their Morgan burger with fries. Came out with chips. When asked why the chips and not fries. Ann said that’s what comes with it. I pointed to the white board that clearly stated w/​fries. I understand mistakes are made but it’s how you rectify the problem. The fries were dropped off with no comment. A simple apology would be more than sufficient. My wife ordered a burger with regular fries. She was delivered waffle fries which she clearly said no to Ann when ordering. Food was OK. But service was in the poor to rude level. Would I go back? No, Mickey Finn has better food and friendlier service staff!

My husband and I like this place. It’s a bit divey, but very friendly with affordable prices. My husband likes the 50 cent wings. I had the fish and chips the first time I went and they were okay. This last time I had the pulled pork special and it was much better. Bar type food is the way to go. Everybody says the pizza is wonderful, but we haven’t tried it yet. They have plenty of draft beer specials to wash the food down with.
My favorite part of this place the atmosphere. The music is pumping, it seems like lots of locals like to hang out, and the staff is fairly friendly. This isn’t a foo foo place, it’s a down to earth place to hang out and enjoy some food and drink with some friends. It has good third place possibilities.

This really is by far my favorite in Libertyville. Some might say «divey» but I say «earthy». People here work all day and want a place where they can get reasonably priced good bar food.
This was the place I had my first beer ever in Libertyville bs I keep coming back. Why you ask?
Friendly. As in «hey I don’t know you but you are now my BFF!!» But not clingy. I hate that.
Food? Good I mean it’s bar food. You want foie gras do t come here. But you want 50 cent wings and mini pitchers for the price of a regular beer on Monday night? Hell yea I do!!!
Wings are meaty and good. Pizza is flavorful and delicious. Beer list is good. Extensive but not obnoxious. Liquor has the standard fair (but you can always wander to the Green room after if you need a fancy drink)
So if you want a great spot to stay warm, feel welcomed, smile a bunch and fill your belly head in in!!!

If you want to get drunk go to morgans they know how to make strong drinks. Their wings are pretty good. Burger night on Tuesdays is worth is if you dont wanna cook or spend too much money on a better burger. I really liked their ribs pretty good. Dislike their pizza just not my type. I love ny pizza and chi deep dish so this pizza deal they got is just not for me… Looking forward to trying more stuff to eat. The owner is nice and so are all the female bartenders. They have pretty delicious morgan waffle fries!!!

Came here for the Hawks game the other day. Got here wayyyy too early… and apparently bringing a one month old to a bar isn’t the best idea.
Anyway, we wanted some pub food and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We started with a dozen wings, half BBQ half buffalo. They were awesome. Large, crispy, and cold dippings. Only $.50 each on Saturday! Gotta love Saturday specials.
We are kind of watching our spending these days, so we both ordered the cheapest thing on the menu… the Chicago Hot Dog. It is $ 3 with regular toppings, and $ 3.50 with chili on it. I went the chili route. OMG, so F’ing delicious. Sloppy, spicy, and perfect. Ashley went with the regular hot dog and waffle fries instead of chips/​fries. BEST WAFFLE FRIES EVER!!!
To wash down our dinner, we had Dogfish Head Namaste ($ 3.50 bottles Saturday only, $ 4.50 other days). We were in and out of there before the game started. We got to watch the Hawks get their butts kicked from the comfort of our own home!

Food is THE BEST BAR FOOD EVER!!! I crave the pizza, cheeseburgers and fries!!! Weekly specials are fantastic! $ 2.25 for HUGE JUICY cheeseburgers! $ 5 all you can eat pizza!
It’s like home but better!!!

I have previously rated Morgans high, a local dive serving good bar food. Reminds me of the Wisconsin places I have frequented awe to many times.
Last week my wife, daughter and myself decided to stop in and have dinner. I don’t know what they have done in the kitchen but it was just bad food, which is said because I’ve had a lot of good food their over the years.
I ordered the fried fish, well the fish I was served, was the cheap frozen minced fish you get at the grocery store. So it just tasted and smelled horrible. So I reordered a steak sandwich, lets just say it had not taste.
Sorry Morgans if your kitchen doesn’t care, it is going to kill your business.

Great local place. Great place to have a beer and a sandwich. Very comfortable and layed back. Nice place to watch the bears too.

This place was recommended by a friend. Firkins across the street had too long of a wait and was jammed so we tried out Morgans. Upon walking in prime time on a Friday night Morgans was packed too, but Bo Bo up front at the bar saw us and gave us the two bar stools where he was. Good start :-).
Bar crowd was easy going, friendly, and it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves. It is my understanding that it is a locals fave.
The bar tenders were curt not in a rude way but in a taking care of business way.
Service was fast. I was told everything on the menu was good except for the buffalo wrap.
My wife ordered some stuffed poppers to start, I ordered six wings. She got the fish and chips, me the corned beef reuben (we were junking). The fish and chips were OK, the reuben was good, slaw was not bad either. I have to mention that the daily food specials on the board had some fairly healthy fish options on there that I will try next time.
Amstel lights on Friday night go for 3.95 glass, but they run daily specials

prices are super reasonable and you just may make a new friend.

Returned for some brews and wings and decided to go up a star. Serving food late night is a great idea! Wings are $.50 each and very tasty. You can order different sauces and beware, they come pretty doused with sauce! I liked the Thai the best, but honey BBQ and buffalo do not disappoint!
