Went there yesterday for dinner. Were greeted right away. Staff is very friendly. They brought free papad with two chutneys. I really liked their papad as it had black pepper in it. Ordered samosa chaat and gobhi Manchurian for appetizer. I didn’t like their samosa chaat. chutneys had no flavor. Another restaurant in town has way better chat than theirs. gobhi Manchurian tasted very good but doesn’t have the same taste or texture in real indo-Chinese gobhi Manchurian… Ordered goat biryani and malai kofta with butter naan and tandoori roti. Goat biryani came with yogurt. It was ok. Meat was tender but was lacking flavor. Their malai kofta was good. In desert, we ordered Mango kulfi which I really loved. Overall very average. Unsure if I will be back!!!

The owners of this place are awesome. They always greet us with a smile and know exactly what we ordered last time… Even though we’re only in every couple of months. Great tikka masala and saag paneer.

Excellent food. Polite staff. Good location. Open late! Was passing through town rather late and hadn’t had dinner. I was thoroughly excited to see there was an Indian restaurant open until 10:00 and quickly swung in for some Chili Chicken, which was terrific! The naan was a little crispy which is what I love. Everything tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. We were well taken care of. The atmosphere is nice here too. Kind of dark and relaxing. Not a lot of parking out front, but there might be a side lot that I didn’t notice. Prices were comparable to most other Indian restaurants. Our food and experience was so good, we debated having the lunch buffet on our way out of town for lunch the next day! Definitely will stop again on my next trip through Lexington!

Don’t waste your time or money on any other Indian place in town – this is the one. They have it all: the most genuinely thoughtful waitstaff and the best food. I love the folk here so much that I genuinely feel guilty if I go to another Indian place, or wait too long between visits. The cuisine is northern Indian, though there are southern options on the menu. My usuals are Navrattan korma, lamb passanda and palak paneer. Masala chai and sweet Peshawari naan are musts. At its strongest during dinner!

Holy cow! Talk about great authentic food!! this is a must try if you like Indian food. If you don’t then this is a must try because you have not had good Indian food. The service is great and the food is too. They are clean and very polite. I thought they were closed as I walked in and I didn’t know what half the menu items were but I loved every moment. Go try it and have a great night doing it. Ps. Very inexpensive if you are worried about price!

Best Indian food in Lexington and the best service! JJ is so sweet and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS! I have never tried something there that was less than amazing. I highly recommend the garlic naan, chicken curry, and gulab jamin!

I’ve been here three times now and I love love love it! First of all, as others have mentioned, the servers are welcoming and very attentive. So far, everything I’ve tried has been outstanding. We ordered veggie pakora for an appetizer and it arrived crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, just the way I like it. I’ve tried garlic naan, aloo naan, and some sort of sweet naan(I can’t remember the name) and they were all tasty and fresh. The palak paneer has great texture; they don’t blend it into a smooth purée like some places and it’s the perfect blend of spice and cream. The veggie kofta is also great. The rice is served family style and they bring extra when you need it. They are quick on water refills. And for dessert, the chai tea is excellent! I think I could take a little more spice in the tea, but I understand that they need to appeal to the general public. Nom Nom Nom! We’ll be back soon!

My boyfriend and I first discovered this place on our mission to try every Indian restaurant in Lexington. That mission was quickly over! We’ve tried a number of places and refuse to go back to anywhere but here. Not only is the food top notch, but the service is amazing and friendly. We’ve been a total of four times; by the second time, the waitress(who may or may not be the owner as well, I’m not sure) recognized us, and by the third time, she had my boyfriend’s order memorized. We feel like regulars already! If you’re in a hurry, don’t think you don’t have time for a sit-down meal. The food is usually so fast, we’re in and out in under 30 minutes if we want. The spice level is amazing and every flavor was perfect. We’ll keep coming here as long as we live here, and when we move away, this restaurant will be the one we absolutely miss the most.

BEST Indian food in town… hands down! The customer service is also impeccable and the lovely woman at the front of house literally treats you with so much care that the food tastes BETTER. How is this possible? I don’t know because my food coma is something I want to live in forever. This place cannot take enough of my money!

My favorite Indian restaurant in Lexington. Great menu choices like gobi manchurian and three different kinds of delicious biryani are available, and they come with excellent service. Breads and chutneys are solid. I love watching the hostess take good care of her regulars. Can’t speak for the buffet as I have not had it, but I suggest to order your dishes«Indian hot» when you order from the menu if you want authenticity – I suspect that the taste of the dishes lose their impact when the heat is dialed down.

Gets my vote for the best Indian restaurant in Lexington. Had the dinner for two last night. We started with the chicken soup, which I highly recommend. EVERYTHING was great– the rice, chicken curry, lamb tikka masala, the sizzling plate of meats. For dessert, I would go with the homemade pistachio ice cream. We added one vegetable entrée and drank water. The total bill, tax and 20%+ tip was $ 60. The service and quality of food was outstanding.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Lexington, and quite possibly the best I have been to in the Western Hemisphere. My wife and I have been here several times, and are always greeted like old friends. The chicken tikka masala and mattar paneer are must-haves, and if you’re in the mood for something slightly more indulgent, try the malai kofta! And for goodness’ sake, get any of the naan selections. And if you’re feeling under the weather, send a friend or significant other for a carry out order of dal tadka — it’s gingery goodness will cure what ails you!

I’ve been looking for good Indian since I moved to Lexington from Boston. Tried a few but nothing special. My sister suggested this place. I’m hooked. We started with a nice veggie sampler with some excellent chutney on the side. I then went with some lamb vindaloo and aloo gobhi. Very nice. Afterwards, I was trying to get my sister to try some gulab jamum. The server brought us a free serving(no doubt hoping we’d get more in the future). It was good. It is as good as many of the places back in Boston. I’ve been to India also and it reminds me of my trip. Namaste

The Chicken Korma soup is delicious, and all the dishes we have had are wonderfully prepared. To top it all off, the service is personal and inviting.

We recently tried this again for the first time since they opened and it has gotten much better. The food on the buffet was fresh and plentiful. My husband asked if they had any rice pudding on the buffet, and since they did not, they brought him an individual bowl for no extra charge. Good food, friendly staff; it definitely looks like they’ve worked out the kinks.

I am thrilled to have found a new favorite Indian restaurant in Lexington. Taste of India really knows how to give a great dining experience. The dinner menu is well-developed and reasonably priced($ 11.50 for Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Madras, both with UNLIMITED rice!) and the service is spectacular. Everyone is very friendly and attentive, and the staff have creating a warm and welcome atmosphere. I must come again for the lunch buffet!

I love an Indian lunch buffet. Why get fast food when you can quickly get a delicious meal for less than $ 10 in a pleasant atmosphere with soothing music? This is the first Indian restaurant I’ve tried in Lexington. It was clean and the food on the buffet was fresh. I have to admit I have very high expectations of Indian restaurants. My favorite is Ambar in Cincinnati and Taste of India didn’t quite match as far as taste. The food needed a little more spice. But, I was still very pleased with the atmosphere and variety of food.

The food is barely spiced and highly americanized, lacking authenticity! I went for the Sunday lunch buffet, hoping to try a variety of the dishes. The best dish I had was season vegetables with indian spices… that had the right amount of spice and heat to it. One can get a spicy sauce to add on the side. However, the flavor is not the same if the dish is cooked with all the spices or added on top in the end. It is just not the same! The staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive.

Been here twice, loved it both times. The only thing keeping me away is a plethora of gift cards to area chain restaurants and my wife’s disdain for angering my slight lactose intolerance. Oh well. Today is my day. The restaurant setup is very plain, but you can tell the staff take pride in their work. Their single waitress is, in all honesty, literally the most pleasant and hardest working server/hostess I’ve ever witnessed. She’s even made recommendations in the past on what to try and what goes together… Particularly using their mint and tamarind chutneys with their fried veggies balls. My only criticism might be that the entrees aren’t always well-labelled or easy to read. But I don’t care. The majority of the food on their buffet is standard fare for Indian restaurants, all well-made and delicious. You will see some things you won’t recognize… But feel free to ask! Or just jump in and try it. It’s here, so it’s probably awesome anyways. Word of advice… Don’t see any naan on the buffet? Patience, my friend. They’re making it fresh and it will be out shortly. I will make a third visit.

Went in last night(Christmas Eve) at 8:45PM and they were delighted to see us. Very friendly vibe and it smelled wonderful. I ordered a cup of chai tea and I was very pleased when they brought it out unsweetened. I prefer to add my own sweetener and adjust it to where it’s perfect. We ordered their medium spice, which was not as hot as we liked it. Next time we may go hot, since their spice scale seems to be very americanized. Their naan was fantastic as well. The garlic was spread out evenly, not clumped in the middle like other places in town. They did have a buffet area for lunch, which we will go back and try.
