Old Chicago

Garlic bread as an appetizer was ok. I got a thin pepperoni and black olives and it was delicious! Waitress was good too.

We ordered take-​out, and brought it back to our hotel nearby. Called in for 2 large Chicago pizzas, one cheese and one pepperoni/​sausage. Also got an order of wings, and some spicy fried pickles. Everything was very good, the crust and cheese on the pizza was amazing, and the fried pickles were perfectly cooked. The service was quick, and our order was ready when we expected it. We would definitely go back, and I highly recommend it to others.

We went in at 6:00 pm and our hostess Londa was extremely rude she told us there was a 5 – 10 minute wait which is ok, but when I looked across the room the room I saw 2 open booths. When we did get seated we had the nicest server named Jennifer which knew the menu got our pizza correct and she was very helpful, she made our experience worth staying. I would give the pizza 8 – 10

Great buffet for lunch, great value, great service… One of the better pizza buffets I have been to. CHECK IT OUT!

Cool place, smells like an authentic Chicago pizza place. We are not from the area, and this place was open late so that’s how we landed there.
Stuart was our server, he was very knowledgeable about the menu, as well as what beer was currently out of stock. This makes me think that the restaurant does a great job communicating with its staff.
We needed crushed red pepper and Stuart noted that the particular condiment was cleared to be replaced, giving us an impression that the restaurant makes effort to keep up with fresh caddies.
Monday night special was a deal, we would come back

While I prefer to order pizza for carryout on Fridays, my wife and I happened to be in Hamburg and decided to stop by. After studying the menu, we decided to opt for a large thin-​crust Mediterranean Sausage pizza. I must say, very tasty. Not very greasy (good for my stomach), plenty of cheese (but not too much). Toppings were plentiful and flavorful. The only thing is that it’s a big more expensive than my usual carryout pizza. However, it’s a great choice if you’re in the area and prefer a nice sit-​down restaurant.
I will also point out that the staff was extremely friendly! Our server (a girl named Remington) was extremely pleasant and went above and beyond to take care of us.

If it was just for their pizza i would give it 4 starts. Have been here four times each time I have tried to order a mediterranean salad to no luck. Each time I’ve had to ask about my salad after we got are pizza. Each time they forgot about it so told them I no longer wanted it. They told me the problem was they can only make the house salad or the Caesar salad all other had to be made by the chefs. Not once has the manager come to apologize to us.

I’ve visited for lunch several times over the years. The quality has been in decline over the last few visits. Cold pizza on the buffet bar, poor selection (2 of 4 were cheese pizza, 2 were pepperoni and mushroom, all 4 were sitting on the bar for nearly 30 minutes, etc…), etc… The chocolate chip cookie at the end of the meal was maybe ¹⁄₃ the size of a normal sized cookie.
The serve staff is always excellent, in good spirits and attentive. It appears that the owners have been on a cost cutting binge and have sacrificed quality.
I don’t plan to return.

Here again. Their greatest convenience is their super late closing hours. If you are on the road you can always find a good salad. Their waiters don’t have the sunniest of attitudes but the pizza is still good. Their manager Matt is really great and really tried to fix ALL the booboos that waitress Terri made.

We have always had great food and beer here! Tonight its a bit busy due to the U of L and UK football game crowd. Still awesome to come here for great food and drinks!

I especially love this place, and every time I go, the experience is really nice. However, today, was slightly different… I went expecting the usual awesome, and had the pleasure of being in Jay’s section. Wow, fantastic experience, enjoyed the entire atmosphere, trying new food, and just having a great time. He is a phenomenal server, courteous, and great company.
Professionals like him, are one of the reasons people go out to eat. Loved all of his recommendations, enthusiasm, and incredible knowledge of all the services and menu.
Recommend this establishment to all who love great food and extraordinary service!

Great tasting pizza. I’m assuming based on people’s previous bad reviews they are lowering their rating because of the following reasons:
They are from Chicago
They are expecting authentic Chicago pizza
They are very picky pizza eaters
Because I’ve ate at a lot of pizza places and I Loved this pizza. It was one of the best I’ve had. I’ve never been to Chicago and could care less if it’s Chicago like or not. If it tastes good then it tastes good. I couldn’t tell you the difference of pizza from California to Chicago to New York, but if it tastes good whether it’s thick pizza,
Thin pizza, tangy sauce, or robust sauce… why so picky?! These people act like they are eating Little Caesars Lol!

This pizza was no Chicago pizza I’ve ever had. Tasteless. No sauce pizza. I had a mouthful of greasy bread. It wasn’t even garlicky. The server creeped me out from the beginning. He said my nine year old daughter looked familiar. Then sat next to her in the booth to take our order suggesting her meal step by step. The artichoke dip is awful. It was served with only four pieces of bread and a bunch of slimy vegetables. The artichoke dip was really white and creamy with little pieces of artichoke, not good at all. My daughters spaghetti came out with no Alfredo sauce dry looking with chopped bits of chicken in it. Ugh, I don’t ever plan to visit this place ever again! That was a waste of $ 45. The lot being packed whenever we have passed it gave me the illusion that this place was really good. It must have just been the location being right off the highway.

We live 5 minutes from Old Chicago Pizza so we have the option of ordering takeout from them without losing any quality.
On our most recent visit we chose to order two individual deep dish pizzas in order to have a little variety while trying to minimize the chance for leftovers.
We ordered the Buffalo Chicken and Chicago Seven (no green peppers, no black olives, add green olives). Both were hot and delicious, with our only complaint being that Buffalo Chicken pizza wasn’t garnished with shaved celery and blue cheese as described and shown on their website.
Despite this hitch we enjoyed the pizza and I recommend them to lovers of deep dish.

Ate here for the first time tonight. The food was tasty, and while there was a minor mixup with my husband’s order, the waitress and manager went above and beyond to fix the problem, going as far as to waive the charge for his meal. I was surprised and impressed.
Bottom line: the service was very accomodating and the food’s great, so I highly reccomend them.

In town for a wedding, the kids and I needed to kill some time before the ceremony. We decided to try out Old Chicago since I love Chicago style pizza and hadn’t had any in a long time. Well, I STILL haven’t had any in a long time. This place is a total misnomer. My «deep dish Chicago style» was nothing more than a Pizza Hut personal pan. No deep, layered cheese and sauced top. Nope. Just a pan crust pizza. It tasted fine, but was totally false advertised. My son ordered a kid’s meal pizza with regular crust. It was the exact size as mine. Once again, the taste was fine but if I’m going to just get a personal pan pizza, I’d expect to pay Pizza Hut prices, not nearly $ 9. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I hate writing one star reviews. So much so that sometimes I just don’t write reviews about places that are awful because I feel bad and don’t want to hurt their feelings… but this was literally the most disgusting pizza I’ve ever had and I need to save other people from making the same mistake! (And it was ridiculously expensive.)
But I digress, I was in town for a horse show and after a long day in the sun, all my girlfriend and I wanted to do was sit in front of her TV (I was staying with her) and drink a bunch of wine while eating pizza. She lives in the country, so we decided to pick up some pizza on the way to her house… she suggested this place. I love her, and she normally has great taste… but this is why I rely on Unilocal to tell me the hand to heaven truth about a place… because I was a little hesitant when I saw it had three stars, but she was adamant, so I caved.
We called and placed out order. A 14 inch chicken, artichoke pizza with extra cheese and an order of cheese sticks to go. $ 32 (not including tip). WOW. Seems a little high considering they aren’t delivering it. But then they ask what kind of car I’m in, which I thought was a little odd, but then realized they would come TO MY CAR, which I loved, because not only am I lazy, but I was covered in mud and smelled like a sweaty horse (not the opportune time to be seen in public). They tell us to pick up in 20 minutes. Perfect. Takes that long to get there.
In reality, we didn’t have our oder until 35 minutes, even though we arrived 20 minutes later. And I just couldn’t get over the sticker shock. But we went home, busted open the wine and dug into some pizza… well, the only reason I continued to eat after the first bite was because that was the only food we had at the house… but in case you are curious, it tasted like plastic cheese on cardboard with styrofoam chicken and artichoke. I had to drink a lot of wine that night to wash it down.

This review is not about my personal experience when recently dining at Lexington’s Old Chicago Pizza. It is about how another customer was treated upon my visit. While dining at Old Chicago Pizza in Lexington tonight, I observed a waiter who was boxing up leftover pizza at a table near mine accidentally spill about half of the leftover pizza onto the floor. He left and threw it away and then returned with that table’s check.
I was curious if he would «do the right thing» and deduct a portion of the bill for his mistake. Mistakes happen but it’s how a business makes amends is most important when a mistake does happen.
So, when the lady and her extremely well-​behaved children left, I asked her if the waiter deducted any amount from the bill. She said he did not and did not offer to do so. She said the service had also been slow.
I don’t mind admitting, that really annoys me. After all, she had paid for the food and now she nor her children will be able to finish it.
I advised her that I would certainly never eat there again as a result of how the incident was mishandled.
She said it was one of her favorite places to eat but now she will not eat there again either.
So Old Chicago Pizza lost two customers at once tonight.
It may have only been a couple of slices of pizza but it’s the principal of the matter. The lady deserved better overall service.

Got the Chicago thick with pepperoni, Asiago and roasted garlic. Buttery crisp crust and maybe a bit more garlic then use like. My husband got the baked spaghetti pie and he approved. It came with a pesto Alfredo sauce. My dad got the Italian grinder and he loved it. The waitress memorized our order and was very sweet. Check it out!

Late night hunger hit us after we had a late lunch so since this place is open until 2am, we headed out to give it a go.
The place was rather busy since they have a large selection of beer on tap.
Food is below average, but after several beers, who cars, right? Am I right? Hello?
