Ordered the Big Nasty, which is aptly named. Hot sandwich which took 20 minutes to prepare and arrived cold. It really was nasty. I won’t try this place again.

I very much like McAlister’s Deli. It’s not convenient to any place I have reason to be, so it can’t be as frequent as I’d like. I love, Love, LOVE their nutritional information on the website. The menu has plenty of variety and everything I’ve ordered there has been delicious. It’s clean, well decorated and furnished. I plan to return as soon as this week.

Very disappointed with McAlisters after a recent visit over the holidays. I arrived 15 mins before closing time, however the cashier was impatient and rather condescending as I placed my order. After navigating this petulant exchange, a voice indecorously shouted«We’re closed» from somewhere in the bowels of the kitchen. The cashier was unimpressed with my argument that the posted signs indicated a quarter hour before closing time, and my companion and I left upset that two salads couldn’t have been thrown together in time before closing. Or in absence of that service, even a mild apology would have removed some of the bad taste in our mouths that is usually imparted by one of McAlisters horrid potato salads.

This place serves you death in a basket, with a smile on their face. Had a French dip sammich over five hours ago and I’m still writhing in pain. I’ve eaten food I’ve found behind my couch and not had food poising anywhere close to this level before. What’s on that sandwich? Cyanide? Consider this my last will and testament: my wife gets everything after all & upon my death she needs to sue McAllisters to pay for damages to her family and livelihood.

Very, very ordinary… I work nearby and was excited when they opened… Below par corned beef, pastrami… Cookies are ok, tea not bad… but overall a major disappointment

Classic deli. In cute downtown Chevy chase area. We usually stop in for a quick bite. The salads are great the place is clean and the work staff is friendly. I can’t say one sandwich is better than the next. There all good. It’s easy to walk around and stop in. I’ve been here a few times as I pass through the area.

The costumer service is not good. Sometimes I will get someone really nice helping me out but most of the time, the cashiers are duds. They could care less to be friendly or help you out. The food is ok, certain things on the menus are pretty good but everything else is so-so. I guess it’s a place people like to go because you can get a soup /salad or sandwhich/soup combo for a decent price, plus there are a ton of options.

I love this place! Even though I always get the same thing(four cheese griller, Mac and cheese, sweet tea). The service is great, and very quick! If you’ve never been here I highly recommend that you check it out.

The menu has many options for salads sandwiches and soup and the spuds too. The quality of meats is not that great. I do like their salads the best!

Not bad, but could better for the price. I had a turkey sandwich which was good. Portion was very small. Sweet tea was very good. Some other items on the menu looked to be a better value. The kids at the counter didn’t seem to enjoy working there.

Great place. Lots to offer. Use parking garage for easy access. Had the New Yorker and it was massive and very good. Staff was very nice and helpful. Large selection of food so something for everyone.

Other McAlisters locations are by far better. The number one reason I usually go to McAlisters is because I usually want an Arnold Palmer but the fact that they don’t even carry their own brand of lemonade is disappointing.

I love the variety of the menu at McAlister’s. I usually go for the Choose 2 Option and get a ½ sandwich and ½ Savannah Chopped Salad. My favorite sandwiches are the Turkey Melt and the Orange Cranberry Club. The iced tea is outstanding! Be sure to get a Tea Club card and get a punch each time you buy a tea to earn a free one.

I love the Chevy Chase area of Lexington and it has just gotten a solid new member, McAlister’s. Granted, it is a chain but a decent one at that. Parking is ample in the Chevy Chase garage despite being in a crowded area. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. There are plenty of tables to go around which becomes increasingly important at lunch. The décor is standard for the chain. One major complaint that I do have about this location is there aren’t enough staff people at the register. I mean come on! It is the first point of contact with your customers and we shouldn’t have to loop around the restaurant to get service one at a time. Beyond that obstacle, the entire process is smooth sailing with the delicious spuds. I mean talk about potatoes on steroids. Whoa, wait. I’m not starting that rumor. Lots of variety between soup, sandwiches and salads. I have to stop here and share the most intimate McAlister’s story from my visit. The floor manager, as I shall refer to him as he was bringing out all of the food, was top notch. That man could not have moved any faster if he were on roller skates. On top of it all, every time you thanked him for his kindness his response was,” My pleasure!” And it isn’t even a company policy for him to respond to praise in this way. Friendly folks. Just try it out.

This brand new spot is just around the corner from my house and I’m glad now that Buddy’s is gone I’ll have some place I can walk to with guests who don’t like B&T.(Still miss ya, Buddy). McAlister’s is clean and the inside reminds me of a Panera without the bakery. The staff seem very nice. Their prices are a wee bit steep but you get a LOT of food… the potatoes are ridiculously sized, for example. The food is billed as fresh and you get the idea they’re trying for the quality healthy food aura. Problem is, I can’t verify that because I can’t find the nutirtional info anywhere. Their website has a link but the info hasn’t been added yet. I can tell you from looking at it that their calorie counts are likely very high. It may remind me of Panera, but it sure doesn’t look to be as transparent about info as Panera. I will go when the late hours(open till 10) or nearby location make it easy, but I don’t think Panera, Stellas, etc, has much to worry about. Also: There are no decaf low cal sodas. At a deli? Really?
