Would not even give one star. When you walk in it has a distinct smell of a dumpster during a hot summer day. Ordered sweet tea that was moldy tasting. Then waited forever for the waitress to come back so that I could order food. She didn’t, so I got up and left. This place used to be good. Those days are long gone. –5 Stars

This is one of my favorite places. The Red Devil Roll is a one of a kind roll that will knock your socks off if you are new to sushi. Overall I would say this restaurant has the potential to be the best in Lexington, I believe the staff to be the friendliest staff in town however the Chefs can be slow at times. I still love this place because they have food for everyone and their sushi is good. This is a chinese restaurant not a japanese sushi restaurant.

Some of the best Chinese comfort food I’ve had. Even just the plain white rice is delicious. Highly recommended to anyone that loves good, authentic Chinese food. I highly recommend the egg drop soup, and the Moogoogaipan.

This place was fantastic. I had Sesame chicken and it was fabulous, best I have ever tasted. It was a bit pricey but the portion was enough for two meals so not so bad. I highly recommend and will want to go back every time I visit Lexington!

4– stars is slightly generous. Very low key environment. They have a large menu with many options traditional to fairly unique chef’s specials. Waitress was very nice, was unable to answer questions about Sake but quickly went and found someone who could. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken it was average, nothing spectacular. Crab Rangoon was great!

This place has really taken a turn for the worse. The past two times I’ve been, the rice was so overcooked that its texture was more like oatmeal than rice. You can’t have good sushi without good rice. I’m not even sure that they were using rice suitable for sushi. It looked more like long grain. The fish always seems fresh and pretty tasty, but overpriced. Their signature orange sauce is used on several different sushi rolls, so I guess people like it, but it’s too sweet and shows a lack of creativity. Maybe its purpose is to hide the mushy rice? I probably won’t go back after two awful dinners. Too bad. I’ve had good experiences with previous meals.

I’ve only been here once so far, but what I’ve tried has been pretty good. I’d like to come back and try their sushi bar sometime, and the sparkling peach sake. There weren’t any combination plates, so the soup and egg roll was ordered separately. I chose Hot & Sour soup… it was okay, maybe a bit heavy on the vinegar and a bit light on the spice. I chose the roast pork egg roll… it was hot and had a crispy casing, but the insides seemed to remind me of something I’d buy in the freezer section of the supermarket. The main entrée was Sweet & Sour Chicken, and for $ 2 more I added Shrimp to mine. It came with steamed or fried rice — I chose fried. The portion was HUGE and the chicken & shrimp were cooked just right. The fried rice was pretty good, too. There was definitely enough for leftovers. Give this place a try and see how you like it. I’m going to go back again and see if there are other items I may like better than my first visit. :)

This is a pretty good American Chinese restaurant. They don’t put a lot of sugar in everything. I am not a fan of really sweet Chinese food. The gf liked the Kung pao which is great news for me because there are very few restaurants that serve sushi that have anything that she likes. Really enjoyed the hot and sour soup and they have the Chinese mustard that will blow your head off.

Oh, how I miss this place! I have moved away and nothing compares to Mandarin. Every time I’m in Lexington, Mandarin is at the top of my list of places to eat. The red devil roll, volcano, 859 and pebble beach are my favorites. The crab salad is also to die for. The service is usually just ok, but I can over look that for great sushi!

During my first night in Lexington, my host took me to this place for some Asian food. This is a Chinese restaurant that also serves sushi. My host and I shared a roll of sushi that consisted of salmon, tuna, and pineapple in the middle. I forgot what the roll was call but the spicy dipping sauce that came with it was yummy. I also got Ma Po Tofu w/fried rice. It was nothing special, but you can’t really go wrong or mess up this dish. The portion was huge so I had a lot of leftover to take home. My host got some type of shrimp on cucumber dish and it looked pretty yummy. The total came out to be about $ 30, which wasn’t bad. Service could have been a little bit faster.

This place is a piece of heaven. A little bit of Japanese, a little bit of Chinese. Came here mainly for the awesome Buddha beer bottle I saw on here. Didn’t expect to stay for lunch but I’m happy I did. Got the orange lunch. Comes with rice and egg roll or soup. The soup was good, the egg roll is what made me happy! Just the right amount of pork in it and cooked to the point it wasn’t rock hard. The orange chicken was also cooked right and was so good. I’m happy I went with staying here to eat. Oh and the beer wasn’t so bad. I’m not a beer drinker but it wasn’t bad for someone like me. One of the servers came up to us while we were eating and drinking our beer and asked us how the food was and everything. And then she went on to talking about the beer we got. She told us how the sales rep came in with a case of it to try to sell at her place and she didn’t think it would sell. She then went on to tell us how it sold out in an hour of her getting it and every since she has been selling it. This will be my new place for Chinese food for sure. Great food, good beer, and a great serving staff.

Best Chinese food I’ve had in Lexington so far. I ate at the restaurant, don’t know if they do delivery. Very nice atmosphere and service. Absolutely beautiful presentation at a decent price. I don’t think it’s a good place for young children. It would spoil the atmosphere for others. I am a ‘foody’ and 4 stars does not come easy.
