Cheeseburger was fantastic! People working hard to hustle to get food out from the kitchen. Building is old, but don’t discount this place for lunch. Takes us back in time to a Dairy Dip.

I ate here once, several years ago. I don’t remember the specifics of that visit, but I formed an opinion that I needn’t be in a hurry to get back. However, I’ve been very intentional in recent months to visit, or revisit, as many places as possible for more food variety. Today’s visit was terrific; not perfect, but very satisfactory. They serve krinkle fries and that’s always going to be worth an extra star. They were a tad more«well done» than I prefer, but that’s just me. They were great. The foot-long coney was actually two regular dogs(I always feel a little ‘cheated’ when restaurants do that) but, again, just a personal preference and I’ve seen it so often at other restaurants that I’ve come to expect it. The next time I want a coney, I’ll ask them to back off some on the chili and onion toppings; they were heavy laden and it made the bun fall apart when I picked it up… but this, too, is a matter of preference. I’ll also mention that I like shredded cheddar cheese rather than the melted cheese product, so next time I’ll ask if that’s an option and do without if it isn’t available. The food was TASTY and the service was fast, Fast, FAST. The lunch time crowd was not a problem. I had been afraid that parking and seating might be cramped, but not so much — at least today. I will definitely be back and soon. I’m looking forward to trying their big hamburger. The picture looked delicious.

I have been transported back to Philly and Coney Island right here in LEX. The food here is Amazing! I had the Philly cheesesteak combo and my mom had the polish sausage combo and they were big palate pleasers. Everything is homemade and delicious. I can’t remember the last time I ate something so fast; it was that good. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. We loved that this mom and pop establishment was old school with the two person booths and picnic tables outside. There was a constant stream of patrons walking in to enjoy the original coney dog. We will definitely be back again.

We have passed by this little«Mom and Pop hole in the wall» type place countless times without stopping but finally decided one day to give it a try when we could not stomach the idea of a meal at a chain fast food place. Did we ever receive a pleasant surprise! We got the burgers and were they ever wonderful! Prepared fresh on the grill while we waited, these huge burgers came to our table loaded with the works — lots of lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. We loved them! The fries were great, too! The only reason not a five star is because the seating area is so tight — it makes it a bit uncomfortable for a large group. I would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly return.

When you have the name ‘Detroit Famous Coney Island’ you expect the unique chili sauce only found in the Detroit area. Unfortunately, it wasn’t even close. Very disappointing! Not sure how the other food is but the coney dogs were not the ‘Detroit Famous Coney’. Also, I understand it’s a small mom and pop restaurant but service should still be friendly and we did not find it to be that at all either.

I thought their hot dogs were nasty! I’m not sure why this place is always so busy. Am I missing something?

Outstanding little mom & pop fast food joint. Great for take-out, especially because the dining room is a little cramped(and delightfully kitschy). Gets very crowded around lunchtime because of a dedicated clientele, and the hours are kind of limited because it’s staffed by one family. I’m particularly a fan of the chili dogs, and my wife loves their baklava. Yes, I said baklava. The family that owns and operates it is apparently of Greek descent and makes their family recipe baklava for sale as a dessert. Service is friendly, if a little frenetic at times. Come in often enough and they will definitely remember you! The food is about as good as you’re going to get for fast-food type burgers, chili dogs and fried seafood. Not health food at all, but it is tasty, very filling, and a pretty good value for your dollar. I can honestly say that if you’re in the Garden Springs neighborhood of Lexington, this is the place to go for fast-food.

Best fast food-ish burger in Lexington. HUGE burger with magic spices, nice and juicy. It was a regular lunch spot with my group at work even thought it was halfway across town. Their chilli(dogs) are good too. It gets really busy at lunch so try and get there a little early. Great mom-n-pop kind of place.
