Highly, highly disappointed. That’s all I can say. I have non– celiac gluten intolerance. This means that I do not have celiac disease but I have a reaction when introduced to gluten containing products. Bru used to be one of the few places I felt safe eating at in town. The food was great, service was nice and the atmosphere was always fun. I explicitly told the waiter that I had to be gluten free. When I received my order I ate without delay. Then a few bites in I realized they gave me regular bun instead of the gluten free one. While it was a careless error, I still got sick from their mistake. I no longer trust the staff at the restaurant and will no longer be a customer of BRU Burger bar.

FINALLY some one knows how to cook a burger! Juicy hot and delicious. a little pricey($ 16.00 + tip) for a burger, fires and a club soda. but the burger was not dry and hard. Home made ketchup was not salty nor too sweet, Great service.

I’m not much of a burger fan but the looks of this place drew me in. I was very eased with my visit here and the hamburger that I chose, the bru burger was excellent. Never thought I would find a place that could make a burger good enough for me to enjoy let alone want to come back to try more on the menu. The only downside that I can say which is why they received a 4 star instead of 5 is that you have to order fries separately as it does not come with the meal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone tat is a burger fan, I know it made me one again.

They have very good and unique burgers. I haven’t had one that I do not like. They also have fabulous drinks if you are looking to get a beer or cocktail with dinner. It is pricy to me for just a burger and no side. The sides like fries are add on and cost extra. The best thing for me to get the most for my money is to order a snack burger(it’s 3.5 ounces of meat and you can make any of there ground beef burgers into a snack burger,) but plenty for for me and much more cost effective. Then I can add a side or salad without breaking my wallet. My boyfriend also likes to order two snack burgers that way he can try two different types of burgers for the price of one. Overall, the food is really good I keep going back and in the summer it’s really nice to sit out on the porch! I recommend people go check it out!

I have been going to Bru for the past couple of years and they have never disappointed me. It’s always been great food and service. I would recommend everyone checking it out.

I like bruburger ok. The food is alright. The deserts are awesome. But if you have an issue and send an email they ignore you. It’s not my 1st choice.

As far as I know, Bru Burger Bar is the latest concept from the Cunningham Restaurant Group, a Cincinnati-based outfit that specializes in slick and upscale but rather suburban-mall-ish and mostly all-American eateries. Even though we’ve lived in Cinci for eight years, we’d never been to one of the area’s several CRG restaurants, mainly because we gather that they’re just not our thing. But at the beginning of an alcohol-fueled Bourbon Trail weekend, Bru seemed like the best walking-distance choice from our hotel after an after-work drive down I-75. Initial impressions were actually quite promising: A pleasantly-lit, comfortable-looking restaurant with an inviting big bar in the center, a fine, well-chosen draft beer list(we discovered that Lexington’s Country Boy, which we’d never encountered before, makes some good brews!), and a relatively extensive list of bourbons(good to see a several of the often-scarce Weller products). After a pre-dinner beverage at the bar during a short wait for our table, it was not long before we were again confronted with one of the Great American Mysteries: The inability of way too many restaurant kitchens in this country to properly cook a MFing hamburger to order with any respectable level of consistency. Yes, add this Bru Burger location to the list of ignominy. A damn shame, too, because Bru has come up with some interesting-sounding burger combos. My «Provencal” – basil aioli, goat cheese, marinated onions, & sautéed mushrooms – sounded like a good burger concept, but meat ordered medium came in at well-done and quite flavorless. Another at the table had the«Roma” – she ordered medium-rare and got medium-well, and was equally disappointed. My wife had the blackened mahi sandwich and wasn’t very impressed by it. And the chicken-wing aficionado at the table was pretty«meh» about his wings. A plus was the quality onion rings, which were light and crispy. But overall, it was a table filled with not-great food. Our cold-fish server didn’t help much. He was okay as far as taking orders and bringing them to the table went, but this guy was no ray of sunshine. He seemed annoyed to be asked questions about menu items, and a little haughty about some of the drink orders. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but come on, man. Although I suspect you could have better experiences at a Bru than we did, the restaurant was definitely not on top of its game on this evening.

Just fine; like but not love. The burger space in the American culinary universe is already overcrowded with options: lowbrow, highbrow, factory farmed, locally sourced, paired every which way with everything under the sun. It’s hard to compete in such an environment. Bru does many things well, but it’s hard to stand out. The price point is high, but the portions are large and the meat is well-sourced and competently cooked. There are interesting beers on tap, but there are even better options in town. The lamb burger is delicious, but I can get a better lamb burger at Stella’s for the same price. The other burgers are delicious, but at these prices they have to be. Ambiance is alright, though the lighting is too dim for my tastes. Service was appropriately attentive. I’d rather spend my money here than at most other high-end burger places in town(or at a Smashburger… ughs), but Five Guys serves a cheaper burger at only slightly lower quality, and rumor has it Shake Shack is coming to town.

My husband is a burger connoisseur! I took him to this place as a sweet surprise and was out-of-this-world delighted that I loved it just as much(MORE?) than him(and I don’t even eat beef)!!! Their tuna burger is simply amazing! I request it on a normal bun and without the slaw. The other amazing thing here is their chicken fingers– best in town! I request them tossed in buffalo sauce with ranch for dipping. All the sauces here are made from scratch and the ranch here is heavily laced with dill and oh… so… good! These two menu items and a drink that used to be on the menu called a Chatta Bourbon, keep me salivating and dreaming of returning to this fine establishment. The drink I mentioned is made of rum chatta and bourbon and if you ask for it, they’ll still serve it. The fries are good and my husband likes the onion rings. The pickles are also homemade. We leave this place too full for dessert every single time, but I hear they have good milk shakes. Definitely recommend– there are so many different burger choices, and if you can’t decide, you can always get 2 – 3 minis. Their cod sandwich isn’t bad either. The ambiance is super for date night and they have a great rewards program and many local and not so local interesting beers on tap! Check them out, folks!

Had a great burger and fries. Also ordered the onion rings, I must say the rings are some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t get me wrong I think the burger was great, but to me part of crafting a burger is designing it so that it stays together. A burger with to much sauce or items will cause you to eat your burger missing half the ingredients, as they will fall off the bun, as mine did. My plate ended up with two of the sauces and the slice of cheese still on the plate. This is why I didn’t give five stars. Call me particular but for a gourmet burger and price you should get a well crafted burger. Yes the meat was cooked to order perfectly. My service was great and it was nice to see managers on the floor. One of which was working hard bringing out orders. A nice change that I haven’t seen in a long time.

Excellent food and value. The beer selection is stellar. The beer cheese and pretzels were tasty. Salads fresh and delightful. BBQ sandwich was tasty and had a zing. Valerie was outstanding as our server.

BRU burger bar gets a rave review from me because the food was good and the service was excellent. We stopped in on a Monday night for dinner. It wasn’t too busy, but my wife and I were seated in a booth next to a couple with a young child. It was an inauspicious start, but those diners left almost immediately, so we were free to be potty mouths.(Phew!) Our server, Aaron, was very attentive. We shared the BRU fries for an app. It comes with three sauces: a house ketchup, house BBQ and a pepper mayo. My wife also asked for a side of their truffle mayo, which they happily provided. My wife had the bleu cheese burger and I ordered the ahi tuna burger. I’d had it before and enjoyed it. Hers came out perfect and she enjoyed it. My burger, unfortunately, wasn’t so good. The ahi tuna was overcooked. In fact, it was so well done that I mistook it for turkey at first. There was no flavor. Really a disappointment – good tuna shouldn’t be completely cooked. Well, I told the server and he had it remade immediately. The wait for the new burger was short, and this time it was still pink in the middle. This burger had the good flavor I rememebered. I was very satisfied with how it came out the second time. My wife inquired about three beers on the beer menu and the server knew something about each one. She couldn’t decide between a porter and a cider, so the server brought her a taste of each. She decided on the cider, which was very dry but paired well with her burger. We made sure to call the manager over to tell him how well Aaron was doing as our server. The general manager, Shea, was very nice. He made sure my second burger was good, talked beer selections with us and told us about some of the other restaurants their company has in the region. Then he comp’d our appetizer, just to be nice. This place is on the pricey side for burgers, but they’re gourmet burgers. The atmosphere is upscale casual. If there’s anything you don’t like about your food, speak up, because they will make it right. The overall experience earns 5 stars from me.

If this was bigger city with better food I would probably just give this place three stars but It’s Lexington so it gets four stars. The beer list is pretty good and they have a wide variety of burgers. This place is just a little too expensive for the quality for me. If i could get a burger fries and a drink for $ 10 it would get five stars but just the burger is $ 10. Too much.

Bottom line as the first line: You want a good burger. Bru’s got the goods. You want someone to bring it to you and refill your beverages? Bru provides that, too. Outdoor seating option(three seasons)? Yup. Convenient, free parking? Uhuh. Brew options? Bru’s got brews. I have to admit that I’m not a burger hound. I’m far more likely to chase down an inventive salad. But when the burger crave does hit, you want your meal to hit the spot. Bru does. I am impressed by the beer and spirits options. The menu was inspiring; I’ll be back. I was surprised that Bru didn’t offer a few varieties of fried potatoes, but that’s not a deal-breaker for me. Creative dessert menu, as well. Add to these merits the convenient suburban location just off the Circle and it’s hard to go wrong. For a casual all-American dining experience that hits the right mark between classic comfort food and trendy foodie club, it’s hard to find a better option in Lexington than Bru, IMO. #CrowdPleaser

Birthday lunch with my sister. Had the mahi mahi sandwich, cottage cheese, and chili. All the food items were delicious. The server, Nick, was terrific… very personable and professional; made us believe he was really glad we had come in to have lunch with them. I strongly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.

Want to try the best burgers in town? This is the place. I’ve had several of their speciality burgers as well as a plain-old cheeseburger and I’ve been impressed with every one. If you can’t decide which burger to get, ask for the small burgers(they have a name, but aren’t on the menu) and try a few to find your favorite. Don’t pass up the pretzel! I was told they have it flown in form Germany daily, and it’s excellent. The beer cheese and mustard it comes with makes it that much better. The beer selection is always great, they typically have some local beers on tap in addition to a variety of other craft brews that will appeal to any beer snob.

Oh, Bru Burger… I had such high hopes for you! Any place that specializes in burgers and includes goat cheese in its list of ingredients is sure to get my attention, but I need to have a quick chat with the kitchen: Bru Burger kitchen staff: if you are going to specialize in burgers, and your servers ask how I would like my burger cooked, you need to get the temperature right. I asked for medium rare(first attempt), and got well done. I asked again for medium rare(second attempt) and got medium well. Thinking the third time would be a charm, I asked once more and got mediumish. Close enough to not want to wait another 10 minutes for a new burger, but not close enough for anything more than a 2-star review. Also, the outer skin of an onion is not edible, even if you dip it in batter and fry it. The toppings on the burgers were certainly interesting; I had the Provencal sans the mushrooms, and found the combination of ingredients to be very tasty. The red onion jam was particularly flavorful, and the goat cheese was melty and delicious. Hold on, though… I need to have a quick word with management: Bru Burger management: You can NOT charge $ 7 for 5 onion rings, two of which were inedible. You just can’t. On what planet do the ingredients for onion rings cost anywhere near $ 7? Note to all diners: all items on the Bru Burger menu are a la carte… no fries come with the burgers… no salads. Everything is priced individually. So, my overcooked burger and 5 onion rings were $ 17. All in all, this was a disappointing experience. Our server was nice, but defensive of the kitchen(«Everyone has a different idea of what medium rare means»). So, the next time I want a good burger, I will drive to Midway and have the Mary Burger at Heirloom… medium rare :-)

Went to Bru Burger last week with my wife and some friends from out of town. First off I want to commend the servers and hosts. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. That makes a huge difference when choosing where to take friends or if I’ll go back. I ordered the turkey burger. It wasn’t the best turkey burger I’ve ever had, but it was very tasty and fresh. I swapped out the French fries for cottage cheese. Very refreshing on a warm day, as we ate outside. I’ll definitely be back to try the other options.

EASILY the best burger I’ve had in Lexington and probably in my top 10 overall. The nachos are a great appetizer, just bring a couple people to help you out cuz the portions are gigantic. The burgers are so juicy and the beef is really high quality. None of that greasy almost deep fried slop passing as burger patties that so many burger places try to feed their customers. I would avoid the spicy burger(forgot what it’s called.) it’s just too spicy and you can’t taste anything else while eating it. Outside of that you can’t go wrong with any of the other burgers. A real gem.
