Ugh… I miss Overdrive Games. This place is Terrible. The staff are lazy and the tournaments are dull.
The winner tonight was not a regular and I think they gave him special treatement. That or he pulled the race card. It was lame.

I have tried to support the local comic and game shops, but these guys don’t deserve it. I had asked them to order in a game expansion. I prepaid for it and I was told it would be two weeks, and I was fine with that, but after three weeks went by and no call, I stopped in. I asked if it had come in and was told no not yet, but as I was leaving the store I saw it on a rack on the wall. I grabbed it and told them this is what I had been waiting for. They looked dumbfounded, so I said I’d just take this one. They then argued with me about paying for it. After I produced the receipt and showed them, they still looked pissed and acted like I was wrong.
They have little knowledge of any game except magic the card game. If you play magic your in good company with the rest of the people who don’t shower either. The place smells bad. They give a bad name to good gamers. I’d avoid the place. Go to Boomerang Comics, Area 51 or madness comics instead.

Had an unpleasant experience here. Wanted to give them a chance by buying local and also taking a break from buying from boomerang and vintage toys, who are great BTW, but I should’ve just bought online. I ordered a comic, pre-​paid, and they said it would get there in 2 – 3 weeks. I was the one that had to call at 4 weeks to ask if they had gotten my comic in. And then they said they did get it in but it was damaged. So another 2 – 3 weeks later, again I had to call to wonder when it was going to come in. The owner did let me borrow the damaged copy to read in the meanwhile which was nice of him and he did say he was going to give me a discount on my next purchase for the trouble. So when it finally did arrive, I purchased a separate comic in store and did not receive any discount. Will not be coming back.

I am sure you have heard the saying no good deed goes unpunished
The older I get the more I believe it
I could (should) have bought online and saved money, quite a bit
But thought I would buy local and keep the money local
Anyway…
I tried to do a return here the day after I bought a gift for someone
after finding out I bought the wrong thing
(nothing feels better than that)
asked for store credit (store credit) … did not ask for my money back
The owner /​mgr do not know which said no
but he would work with me and give me less than half of what I spent for part of what I bought and was not interested in the rest .
Now when I was buying the gift he was telling me it was the greatest thing ever
Wow you call that working with me? I would say more like working me over
Felt like I was at a used car lot not the local comic book store
Now if I was him, I would have done the store credit with the expectation for more business from me in the future
instead he lost all future bushiness from me forever
Tips from me = try online first or try any body I mean anybody else
