Lewiston Village Pub

Summary: beer list is great, service spectacular, ambience ok, food nothing special.
Big place– Bar in front, «family» restaurant in back, side area looks like“fine dining”. Lots of flat screens, all over. Also a pool table and bubble hockey. We sat in the family area (me and my wife), nice table near a gas fireplace.
Great beer list– lots of variety. Service was awesome. We had black and tan onion rings (great!). I had the pot roast sandwich, which was bread/​mashed potatoes/​pot roast/​potato strings. Not enough pot roast, lots of carb. Wife had a veggie burger (black bean garden burger) with sweet potato fries (sysco). Not bad, just nothing special.
Only annoying thing was the pool table. There were some little kids playing, who got a ball stuck. The young staff felt obligated to lift and slam the pool table for quite awhile to jar the balls loose– made the whole restaurant shake.
Would go back, beer list and service were awesome. Food was cooked right, just nothing special. There are other things that sound good on the menu, might be worth trying sometime. Bar area looks fun.

LOVED THIS LITTLE GEM! Service was great and our waitress was so friendly. We were staying in town for the first part of our vacation. My husband has Celiacs and we called ahead to see if there was anything they could make to fit his needs, we were told absolutely. Gluten-​free is hard to find in little towns like this and they definitely did more than enough to earn this rating. My husband had an apple glazed chicken over grilled apples and he just raved about it! They had two different ciders on tap which was great and the chef was wonderful with communicating to our waitress what he could and couldn’t have. Looks May be deceiving with this place but the food is great! Kudos to the staff and chef you are definitely doing something right!

My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner after getting takeout from the Pub two previous times. It was a Tuesday night, so pretty low key. We had our choice between the front bar area, or the dining area in the back. Since my boyfriend wanted to watch the TVs, we went for the front bar area.
They have 40 beers on tap, plus a large selection of bottles. Don’t know which of the 40 tap beers to go with? They’ll bring you a free taste to help you decide. I tried two pumpkin beers, one of which came with a cinnamon-​sugar rim. It was a nice touch.
The food menu has lots of variety, as well. I went with one of the specials (off the menu) — a bacon jam burger, complete with fried egg. It was delicious. My boyfriend had a regular burger, which was also good. For dessert, we had a peanut butter pie — awesome.
Our waitress, Nicole, was great. Very attentive and always checking on us and making sure we had a full glass of beer.
There was also another person checking in on us named Jerry. Not sure if he was the owner or a manager, but he was great. Checked in on us to see how we were doing, asked where we were from, asked us how our beers were, and let us know we were always welcome to bring our dog to the Pub (in the outdoor eating area).
Overall, it was a great visit and we’ll be going back — we have to — so many beers to try!

Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly service. My husband and I stumbled upon this place while in Lewiston with some friends, and what a great find. All of us ordered various burgers, which were cooked perfectly. They were juicy and the toppings were not your typical cheap bar additions. The mushrooms were perfectly seasoned and grilled. Of all the stuffy or sub-​par restaurants in Lewiston, this places hits the mark. I will be back. Also, you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the design of the restaurant, inside and out.

My wife and I, along with some good friends, decided to stop by the Lewiston Pub after the Wine & Culinary Festival. We loved this place! Although some of us were slightly tipsy after a full day of wine tasting our waitress was friendly and patient with us. We started with an order of Duck Wings and Sweet Potato Fries to share as an appetizer. The wings were delicious. Nicely breaded, crispy, and moist. The sweet potato fries were standard. For her meal my wife ordered the Brew Burger. The burger came topped with sauteed vidalia onions & portobello mushrooms. I had the Woodchuck Cider Burger. It was glazed in a Woodchuck Cider sauce and came topped with grilled apple slices, bacon, sauteed onions, and gorgonzola cheese. The burger was cooked perfectly — nicely seasoned and moist. Delicious! This burger has joined my list of top burgers in Western New York. The atmosphere in the main dining room is very «middle ages» and rustic looking. You can almost picture monks drinking mead here as if this were an old monastery. Nothing fancy, but unique, very soothing and comfortable. Service was friendly and attentive. 4 stars only because I never ordered from their extensive list of beers on tap. When I come back I may need to bump up to 5 stars if the beer menu lives up to expectations. We’ll definitely be back.

Great place to eat in Lewiston. Beer selection is good and we have never had a bad meal. Crab legs and filet are always amazing. Burgers definitely hit the spot when you are craving one. Appetizers are always good as well. We did not expect such great food when we walked in for the first time but it definitely keeps us coming back to try more. Also never had a problem with service. Always super friendly.

The food selection is diverse and the beer selection is awesome. The food was amazing i highly recommend the blacken salmon sandwich. This was so good. We had a family of 10 people and everyone loved the food. If your hitting the Niagara Wine Trail or in the Village check this place out.

The food here is pretty good, I have eaten here a couple of times. I was disappointed that they took fried pickles off their menu because those were delicious. Also we ordered fried calamari once and it was delicious and seemed to be really fresh, then we went back for the calamari and it was definitely not fresh, they were cut into perfect rings — they looked just like an onion ring. Their crab cakes are delicious though. The beer selection is superb. Don’t go on a game night and expect to have a quiet dinner, the bar gets pretty loud. Overall we really love this place to hang out with our friends and have a drink. I agree with the previous reviewer that the bathrooms are usually a mess.

We dined in the pub for lunch on our trip to the Lake Ontario area. Not only was the beer selection on par with any specialty ale house in NYC, but the barkeep was more knowledgeable, and certainly less stuffy, than any I have met back home. He let us try at least 100 beers. This was the perfect accompaniment to the 100 wings we had just ordered. We tried about 6 different varietals of wing sauce. Unfortunately, I do not remember which were my favorites, but I know that my dear friend Tim’s father, Don Finkle, who is a local to the Buffalo area, preferred the spicy dry rub. It was delicious, but I feel that in a man’s old age, he may tend towards a dry rub simply to avoid the nuisance of a saucy wing. No doubt that tendency is exacerbated when one lives in Buffalo all his life. As I recall, the saucy wings were particularly saucy, and extremely delicious.
The great thing about wings is that you can eat as many as you want because they have no carbs, and the heat keeps you slim, so don’t hestigate to stop by Lewiston Village Pub and order as many wings as you like. You can drink your carbs in the form of beer.

I’ve been the establishment on more then one occasion and the owner and staff are wonderful. great selection of beers. the food is always good. but the place is filthy. the bathrooms make me sick. maybe they are marketing to a younger crowd that doesn’t care if there is running water in the bathroom or urine on the floor. it totally made me write this review. the place could be a 10 if they paid attention to cleanliness. makes you wonder whats going on in the kitchen. i won’t be eating there again. sorry guys.

I work in Lewiston and have pretty much eaten at every restaurant for lunch multiple times.
My co-​workers and I decided to take a chance and try the Village Pub for lunch. The place was quite empty for lunch and we ordered quite quickly. We ended up waiting over an hour for our food and having to eat it very quickly in order to make it back to work.
The menu is misleading, they claim to have «fresh cut fries», which they are NOT. They are typical frozen fries you can get anywhere. The burger was good, nothing spectacular, but the «home made» chicken fingers were disgusting. The breading was so hard and crunchy it was difficult to eat. I would only go here again as a last resort and definitely not for lunch. There are much better places in Lewiston for better quality food.

My husband & I decided to go for lobster dinners after seeing an add in the local paper. We’ve never been before but we were really looking forward to our first time ordering whole lobsters. It was a lovely day & we scored a table outside. We started with a dozen steamers which were great & reasonably priced. He had a salad (which was good) & I had a cup of seafood chowder (not the best I’ve had but still good). We each had the whole lobster with sweet potato fries. The lobster was good & I loved the fries which was a large portion that I took home to enjoy later. Word to the wise– the advertisement was for $ 9.99 lobster. If you want the meal which includes a side & salad it’s $ 15. I overheard a woman complain about the «bait & switch» but she seemed to just like to complain. I didn’t mind paying extra for the sides at all. Two lobster dinners with an appetizer all for $ 40? Awesome deal!!! The service was great & all of the staff was very attentive. We will definitely be going back.
