This is my first time cherry picking ever. My husband and I went a little late on the last weekend of 2016 season. So a lot of the cherries were gone. $ 5 a pound is a little expensive for me but it’s organic and supper sweet. We paid $ 130 for two full buckets. And $ 20 for a big jar of honey. We froze some. I could eat the frozen cherries straight out of the freezer. Soooo good! Wish they were cheaper. Will definitely come back again year after year as long as they are open :)

Copeland’s is the only organic u-pick cherry farm in this area. There’s No entrance fee and this year the price is $ 5/lbs. The Coplands and their family members are very nice! The orchard has 5 varieties this year. They even have. Picnic area if you want To bring a small picnic after picking cherries. Aside from the cherries thy also sell wildflower honey & whipped honey. Yes, the are also bee farmers And have I believe one hive on site.

Had so much fun coming here with my family. Its not a huge place but it definitely did the job in providing us with some organic cherries. The people who own/work there were so, so nice to us. Plenty of them were kids but they were so polite and welcoming. The honey is delicious. I got to sample the regular honey as well as a cinnamon mixture? Im not sure of the name but it was equally delicious. Parking is on the street so its not too far & its free! No entrance fee & I believe no minimum fee either(Except if you’re using a debit/credit card, I believe the minimum is $ 10) Lots of different kinds of cherries & when you walk in & grab a bucket — one of the nice kids there will explain to you the different kinds that they offer.

Love the cherries, love the owners, she’s super nice, love the honey, so delicious. The cherries are so delicious I can’t help it but sample more than a couple & when check out I paid an additional $ 5 on my own guilt. Lol. The owner is so nice saying«it is ok, you didn’t eat a pound to pay me $ 5», I know I didn’t eat a pound but I eat more than what I was supposed too & it is a small orchard, so I leave the $ 5 on the counter. The trees have so much fruits, I come on May 24, 2016, the 2nd day they opened, it is good for little kids to pick. Love this place. Will return if I am in the area.

Rare to find an ORGANIC cherry farm in the antelope valley — I was thrilled when I learned about this little gem. Pros: Not super busy because it’s not on the main road ORGANIC! Cherries taste great Carries a type of cherry called Utah Giant, which I know is very hard to grow. They are delicious! Sells their own honey from the bees they use to pollinate the trees, and it’s really good! They even have a cinnamon honey thing that was really tasty too Sells other stuff, like organic duck eggs, handmade crafts(I had my eye on a really nice rolling pin) Cons: Like another reviewer said, it’s a bit small, but I kinda prefer that. Less people, and it tells me the owner isn’t in it for the money — he clearly does this because he’s passionate about it A few of the cherries may not look great — but you need to expect that because they don’t use pesticides so there are bugs around. I’m totally cool with this. Some say the price is high — I disagree. This year the price was $ 4.25 a pound, which for quality organic cherries is a bargain! If you’re looking for dirt cheap cherries, keep going down the road, this place isn’t for you. I went on opening day this year, and will most likely go again in a week or two. This place was great!

This cherry farm is not super huge. They have more varieties of cherry(organic). A little bit far away from the city/freeway, less crowd. The Admission: No admission fee. Over $ 4 per lb. The Cherry: Compared to other cherry farms, more cherry are damaged(maybe be the birds?) The size of the cherry is quite small and not really sweet. Parking: Street parking(FREE), not too crowded so no long walk to the farm.

29 May 2014: Almost time to pick cherries this year! I’ve been to Copeland’s for the last two years. There is a reason I only go there… the best darn cherries anywhere! The season is not super long, so if you want excellent organic cherries, get there at the beginning of the season. The fact that they are organic I think helps with the REAL taste you get from their cherries. Good stuff! Can’t find them in the supermarket like this!

Another certified organic cherry ranch in Leona Valley! And it’s even open on the weekdays! My cherry-picking companions and I parked across the street from the entrance and wandered in. We were greeted with red buckets and a board that told us what cherries were available that day — mostly Utah Giants and Tietons. The Bings and Rainiers weren’t ready yet, but I didn’t mind so much. I’ve had enough Bings and Rainiers! The boy that greeted us was exceptionally great at showing us what to look for with the Utahs and Tietons and left us to it! The three of us spread out and started searching, trying cherries and figuring out what we liked. I think I leaned toward the Utah Giants, dark sweet cherries. It’s really quite pretty there, too, and I picked about 10 bucks worth of cherries at 3.50/lb. They round down to the nearest quarter here, too. I think that’s a pretty sweet deal! Chari Copeland was there that day, and she was extremely friendly and we all had great dialogue with her. They package their own honey, too! She gave us little spoon samples of the honey, and it was extremely good! It wasn’t overly sweet, and it had a fragrant aftertaste. It is what honey should taste like, we decided, and they sell it throughout the year. She even had a honeycomb to display and show us, an awesome education — especially for kids! Stop by here! I recommend it! They also have a little picnic area, so you can bring lunch and hang out in the cherry orchard with friends or family and enjoy yourselves.

Cate T pretty much covered it! Whahah I think after cherry picking together the first thing she did was go on the computer to write about this experience, a true fan of the organic cherries! =) Taking with owner Chari, I learned that this cherry ranch had first planted their trees about 9 – 10 years ago, and were first officially open in 2006. The next following years were hard due to the frost, she said they lost about 90% of their crops, but this year has been better due to a some new techniques. This place rocks compared to another cherry farm we visited before, the prices are cheaper, they round down to the nearest quarter and the cherries are better quality. At was at this farm that we got the bulk of our cherry harvest! Most of the trees are sweet, I know because I sampled so many of them XD! Haha I forget that you aren’t supposed to eat the cherries like a cherry buffet, but pick them to put in your bucket to take home. This is hard to do when you are surrounded by glowing, red gems of deliciousness just shouting EATME!!! Ahhhhh okie dokies NOMNOMNOMNOM. =D I like the Utah Giants the best, they had good texture and were the perfect ripeness. The Tietons were extremely large in size but the texture was more like a plum, not as dense in the flesh. I was sad that the Ranier’s weren’t to perfect ripeness, but the few I sampled were already sweet enough. If anyone’s going this weekend or the next you are in for a treat! I was partial to Ranier’s but now coming to an awesome cherry ranch, I determined that I am a opportunistic cherry picker and will go for any type as long as it’s yum. I bought a jar of their very own wildflower honey for $ 8, it’s really fresh and has a nice aftertaste. Do take a sample if you are here, they can’t call it organic since the bees fly around in a 2 mile radius and most other farms aren’t organic. Very friendly environment, the owner and family are willing to show you were the best cherries are and explain how to tell the difference between all the varieties! Bring a hat because it gets hot. I also brought some water and a paper towel to wipe of the cherries,(i’m not bohemian enough to just eat them) they are covered in a thin layer of dust and maybe bird poop. =p
