Margaritas are great, food not so great. The chips and guacamole are define fly worth coming in for.

This place was a mixed bag on my first visit. The drinks were fantastic. The prices were a bit steep, for the portion you get. My dinner(chicken parm on guacamole) was WAY too salty. I’d be willing to try give it another shot sometime.

We visited this location on a Friday eve with no reservation. We asked for a booth and waited only about 15 mins and were attended to promptly. Our sever was outstanding and really did a great job helping us navigate through the very large selections of Tequila and Mezcal. The margaritas were amazing, very fresh, perfect blend of lemon and lime as well as the right amount of sweetness. We tried the queso fundido and a side order of their classic guacamole to get us started. Both very good. Fundido was hot and chips were good. Quac was very tasty with the just the right combination of flavors. We then decided to split on of their new Triple combos that was priced at 9.99. We were unable to finish it due to the amount of food and especially after appetizers. Overall great experience, nice atmosphere, very attentive and friendly staff. You might ask why not 5 stars? Well, we set the bar super high on our reviews. 4 stars from us is really good. Suggestions would be a slightly larger margarita, better chips, unadulterated pork carnitas(we passed on them as we like them plain and simple and not loaded with sauces), more lime slices. Again great first experience here and we will be back for sure as we spotted other items on the menu we look forward to trying.

We enjoyed our meals, but really wanted to give a shout out to our server Emily. She really went above and beyond and made our entire dining experience great!

Went here on Sunday night with my fiancé. Mezcal is right down the street from us and we had heard good things so we thought we’d give it a whirl. Service was prompt and friendly and I liked the atmosphere. The tequila list was impressive. The food, for the most part, was a disappointment. I ordered a steak burrito and she ordered the chicken fajitas. My steak burrito had clearly been prepared in advance and reheated, as the middle was cool and the ends were hot. Large chunks of steak inside, however, the steak had the distinct«reheated» flavor. The size of the burrito was about half of one you would receive at a Chipotle or Moe’s, and was a flabbergasting $ 15.50. The Mexican rice served with it was bland and cold. As for her dish, this was the first time I had seen fajitas delivered to a table that weren’t sizzling hot on a cast iron griddle. Hers weren’t even steaming, barely warm. The chicken was good, but there was an abundance of spicy red sauce that disallowed one to taste any other part of the dish. We decided to get dessert– she loved the crème brûlée, and I opted for the fried ice cream. The ice cream was a freezer-burned tiny scoop, mostly ice crystals, and the fried coating was stale without flavor. This was $ 8 and you can get the same dish at Ixtapa for half the price, and twice the portion and quality. Good Mexican food around here is difficult to come by, and it’s a shame Mezcal missed the mark.

Atmosphere was nice. Restaurant was clean. Service was prompt and very friendly! The food was sub par. I ordered the beef tacos. The ground beef was dry. Tasted«meh». Like I was eating an El Paso taco kit. Spanish rice was bland. My partner ordered the mahi mahi tacos. She ate 1 taco. Left the rest. The meat was dry and smothered in some white sauce and the meat yet dry was dripping in a watery substance. If you’re looking for a real Mexican taco go to Super Wings down the street. I probably won’t be visiting the restaurant again.

This is my second time at Mezcal and I most likely won’t return. Atmosphere: Trendy modern look. Not Mexican at all but for the color pallet and smartly framed photos of Mexican life and music. Food: Not quite Mexican, more like poorly executed TEX-MEX. Tex-mex all dressed up. I’d rather go to On the Border or Ixtapa. The steak chimichanga was cooked well but it was covered by a whole lot of chili-verde sauce. The contents were rolled horribly. I didn’t even know there was chili peppers and mushrooms in it because they were at one end and the steak was at the other. The aioli was at the end with the mushrooms and peppers and overwhelmed the chimi. The mushrooms were completely raw. Portions were good. My guest had five tacos with a side of retried beans. They were ok. Desert: Fried ice cream. Served without spoons, had to wait. Partially melted. My dinner guest stated«Even the ice cream is sad.» Under his breath. Way over priced for a 4−8oz scoop of ice cream for $ 8.00. Staff: Quite attentive and very friendly. Aside for the issue with the spoons I’d say it was excellent. Drinks: I’ve had a couple of margaritas there before. They were well made. Price: I would say way overpriced. I could have had two prime rib dinners at Longhorn for $ 20 more. If I’m ever in Leominster again with a craving for Mexican food I’ll stop by the little mom & pop Mexican hole in the wall down the road. The food there has way better flavor.

Just a few blocks away lies the best Mexican food around. Small but quaint this place is my go to Mexican restaurant. We started off with the house made guacamole, came with multi colored tortilla chips. The guacamole was creamy and delicious, but the chips that were presented to us from a runner who wasn’t our waitress handed us a dish with many small broken pieces. Our waitress promptly came over and replaced the chips with the proper size! My wife ordered the pulled chicken quesadella, fresh with a rich tomato salsa sauce ontop, delicious. I got the three tacos two veggie, one fish all very good. Comes with sides of shredded cheese, sour cream and the best salsa! The staff was first class, attentive, not too pushy will definitely be going back!

Heard the hype for years about Mezcal, finally had a chance to experience what friends and the phantom gourmet raved about… Left feeling unimpressed and queasy. Service was prompt and friendly, even on a slow rainy night, our server was helpful and quick. Beer was fresh and cold. Tried the guacamole trio, all very good but clearly pre-prepared and too cold. Thai sriracha and guac were a surprisingly good combo. But the chips were stale and bland, not to mention brittle when scooping cold, dense guac. Had the duck tacos. Way too much barbecue sauce trying to cover the taste of old, microwaved duck meat. Veggies and tortillas were fresh. I’ve worked back of the house in enough restaurants to know when protein is microwaved. Gummy, hot inside, cool outside and foul gamy aftertaste. Upset stomach for the night after only choking down half of them. Shame on me for going Asian at a Mexican spot, but, the hype and prices command better execution than what I saw. I won’t be back, but hope mine was a rare experience there.

I got take out from here once and it was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I had heard so many great reviews but the food didn’t taste well at all and had way to much cheese is in. I may try the place again and dine in since I did get take out and give it a second chance.

I’m surprised this place only has 3 stars. Great food– really different options for Mexican. If you get a guacamole appetizer it’s HUGE — beware. The service here has always been excellent too. I don’t love the seating– it feels a bit cramped sometimes but that’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

Iv been here a couple times, it’s one of my girlfriend and I’s date night spots. Iv gotten a few different dishes each time. Last night I got the pork tostadas which were very good. Tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. The spicy slaw was insanely spicy! We also got the flight of gauc. They have 6 – 8 different styles of gauc all different variations of standard gauc. The gauc is always good every time we go. We sometimes get a pitcher of margaritas at 23 $ it serves 3 each for two people. 4 $ a margarita? Not bad! Definitely enough to leave you a little tipsy! Can’t really complain about anything here! The décor is nice and the staff is always friendly, never had a issue here. It’s a little pricey but the food is worth it. And to the person who said go to ixtapa in Lunenburg. are you kidding me? Mez Cal is levels above Ixtapa!

I have been here a few times with my boyfriend and we are both big fans of the Guac and margarita pitchers! The Guac is delicious and consistent every time we go as well as the margaritas. A pitcher usually serves the two of us 3 margaritas each which is a deal for $ 23! For the entrees, I have gotten the fried shrimp tacos every time I have been there, so I can’t comment much on any other main dish. The shrimp tacos are delicious and come with salsa, sour cream, and rice which definitely leaves me stuffed. Overall, I really like this place the staff is awesome, the drinks are tasty and the food is good.

We usually buy the Groupon when we come here. I wouldn’t pay their full prices for the basic Mexican food they serve. The margaritas are good and I think this location offers a more comfortable atmosphere than their Worcester location.

Seriously? They bring cold chips and want to charge for salsa? Out of the gate it was weird food offerings. The combos of guacamole were so bizarre– candied pineapple anyone? The food was cold. The fajitas were in a red tomato sauce that was thick? Don’t even think of sizzling. We had to ask for sour cream and the rice was dry and out of an Uncle Bens 90 second microwave bag. Go to the other one in town. Eek

I really like the burritos and tacos. One member of our group tonight got the chimichanga, which was pretty greasy. The cocktails are pretty good, but weak. However, one of the burritos we ordered came out 20 minutes after everything else and incorrect. The waiter was missing most of the night and we had to get up to get water. We complained to the manager who said they were unexpectedly busy. However, we only counted 4 other tables, and 2 waiters plus the manager. We’ve never been very impressed, and this will be our last time.

First time visitor recently, sat at the bar and had a drink, very good, and the nachos which were great, and actually had enough stuff on them that you would eat the whole thing, not wind up with a lot of empty chips… moderately busy for a sunday afternoon, food going by looked interesting and good! back again for dinner, very good, mexican calamari very good, chciken mole good, chicken picatta great!!!
