So good our first night we went back for more… A weekend getaway from Boston turned into a memorable weekend… While waiting for our table(reservations recommended) we met a few cool customers at the bar. Lisa the bartender was so friendly & knew her stuff!!! Limited but fantastic menu! Scallop dish was to die for & Duck was cooked to perfection! Owners very involved!!! Great well tasted knowledgeable wine menu paired with each dish! Service A1!!! Tried both Fri & Sat nite dessert special… Both heaven!

Came here on a friend’s recommendation bc she comes here everytime she is up here skiing and it was a nice place with good food! Service was nice from the waitress to the manager. All of our dishes were above par and they even had molten cake for dessert which is a plus in our family!

A meal at Alta should not be missed while visiting the Berkshires! We went into a crowded Alta without a reservation on a Saturday evening. Luckily, there were two open spots at the bar we were able to snag. The bartender was fantastic — she was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions to the menu. To drink I ordered a wine flight for $ 10. I’m trying to build up my wine repertoire so this was a nice option. The cocktail list looked good and they also had a couple of local craft beers available. The menu itself is a nice mix of well known comfort dishes and unique, seasonal offerings. We started with some bread and the housemade foie gras terrine. The terrine was buttery and paired perfectly with the red grape chutney it was served with. For my meal I ordered the special of the night: skate wing over mashed potatoes and spinach. It was my first time ordering skate and I was really impressed. It was perfectly cooked and exactly what I was craving. I also got to try the seared duck, which came with potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a salty caramel sauce. The caramel sauce was a fun surprise — maybe a tad too sweet for my taste — but certainly a unique play on the typical duck+sweet flavor combination. We couldn’t leave without trying some dessert, and the dulce de leche bread pudding was calling our name. The bread was a bit tough, but the flavors were great and it didn’t stop us from finishing the whole thing. It was a great end to a great meal!

By far the best restaurant in the area. The staff are very friendly and the food is never disappointing.

A regular spot when we get up to Lenox. Took the family for lunch today and had a great meal. Chicken quesadilla and pesto wrap for the kids went over very well. The burger is great and the Alta Salad was awesome. The fries(a mix of regular and sweet potato) were really good. Service was quick and professional. A really nice spot.

Excellent — we were warmly greeted by the manager, the décor is warm and inviting and we were seated promptly. Bread was brought over immediately and my date(a bread connoisseur) loved it. My highest compliment — yumminess :) I had the seared scallops with grapes and butternut squash purée. OHMYGOD. The perfect meal. It also came with arugula and maple sauce and the whole combo was perfection, warm, soft, sweet, savory. My compliments to the chef. My date had the Mediterranean Salad to start and said it was delicious. It was a very nice size portion as well. His entrée was Beef Tenderloin with mushrooms and regular and sweet potato fries. I don’t eat red meat so I did not sample but he said it was wonderful. The mushrooms were very herb-y and flavorful and the fries were addictive. For dessert we split a very rich chocolate molten cake with ice cream on top. I think it was hazelnut ice cream. Worth every delicious calorie. I would eat here again and again. The only down side was that we were seated right in front of the large window/door facing the street, which is probably considered the best seat in the house, but it was a cold night and drafty by the door. I am perpetually cold so I had to leave my coat on but I should have asked to be seated somewhere else initially. Overall an excellent experience, top notch service and food.

Love this cute little wine bar nestled in Lenox, MA. Not going to lie, we came here while waiting for another dinner spot to open but we left wanting more! While we just stopped on for apps and drinks we love it and will definitely be back for dinner. Despite the surrounding competition, Alta is in high demand! We came in on a Sun at 5PM and those looking for a table without a rezzie were diverted to the bar for their meal. We happened to sit at the bar and it was great. The bartender was excellent and quite popular with the locals. I opted for the wine flight and we shared a cheese plate, which is exactly what I was looking for. The wine flight was a great deal! For $ 10 I was able to choose any 3 wines from their selection, and let me tell you they did not skimp on the pours! I enjoyed all 3 of my picks and while they offer preset flights, I was glad they don’t force you to choose one of the presets. Our cheese plate was generous both in the cheese dept and the pairings(all for $ 12). We had a generous serving of a Berkshire bleu, Jasper hill selection and a third I can’t recall but all were excellent and were well complemented by the pairings. Great place for drinks and an app if you can find a seat at the bar on a busy night. Definitely make a res or you may walk away hungry.

Very good food and very friendly servers. i asked to turn a wrap into a panini and it wasn’t the slightest of problems. It was absolutely delicious, and came with a huge portions of fries– both regular and sweet potato. I will definitely be back.

We searched through Lenox area menus and Alta had several vegetarian options, including a tofu dish. Pretty adventuresome. It was a hearty dish of mushrooms, tofu and some other veggies. I felt like I was due a greasy cinnamon bun after that serious amount of fiber. Seriously, though, the food was good, though the tofu was dry. They serve a local hard cider that is sweet and dry. The owner(I think) came over to ask how are food was, that was nice and shows that they care. You need to make reservations.
