I stop by for lunch since I was craving sea food. I ordered a cocktail de Cameron and it was like I paid more for the cucumbers because I only counted like 4 shrimps plus it tasted like water. Definitely not going again.

The ceviche de camaron or shrimp to the no habla, is one of the top 5 I’ve tasted. Chente mixes it as soon as you order it so it’s fresh right off the bat. Don’t mind the surroundings but no one comes for the view. They’re chips and green chile you just can’t have 1.

Unfortunately I had seen and experience some of the not so good reviews. We took our chances because we were hungry after seeing some of the good reviews and pics of the food, we took a chance. I ordered the campechana cocktail cold, a diet soda, my son ordered the fried shrimp with rice, a jarrito and my husband the agua chile de camaron and a mexican bottled coke. The coctail was warm, not cold, It had more small pieces of tomatoes and cucumbers than seafood. It had no avocados in it(they said they don’t use them!) Also, almost halfway, I bit a shrimp that tasted soo aweful I had to spit it out. My sons said his rice was nasty, i tried some, it tasted like garlic. The only one that was satisfied with his food was my husband but who can not squeeze lemon juice some salt n pepper and chili sauce on some couple of raw shrimps?! Also all the time we were eating the waitress was having an intense conversation with a couple some friends of hers that went to eat there. The waitresses do need to be dressed presentable. The place has no air conditioning at all! The tables weren’t clean. Also the most shocking was our bill, it was $ 73!

I’ve been coming to this little whole in the wall Resturant for over 5+ years. I come about(3) times a month to get my fish chevich fix on. I’ve never ordered anything else on the menu but this. It’s so addicting! Again, this is a super whole in a wall sort of place. Don’t come here on your 1st date or if looking to impress or feeling fancy. To avoid any of the problems people have commented on I always place a phone order. Parking is really bad. They now accept credit cards. The service could be better. It will be nice to be greeted warmly. The ladies who work here and am sorry to say this but look like they partied hard the night before. Appearance is everything. They should have a dress code like many other restaurants. Service 2 Cleanliness 2 Food 5 Price $$

I love this place for the ceviche mixto. It is the best I have ever tried. The green agua chile salsa is also the best in town.

I had heard good things about this place. And today I had to drive from Alhambra just to try the ceviche and I can say this is the best ceviche I’ve had so far. I didn’t have to add salt, chile to the ceviche. It was just perfect!

This is my FAVORITE place. The portions are huge, and it’s the best ceviche I’ve had. The pimienta is also so delicious. Sometimes I’ll order both because I can’t decide which one is better. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Neighborhood is suuuuuper questionable but the ceviche is worth it.

The fish is fresh but their plate of ceviche consists of 4 cups of vegetable and ½ cup of seafood. I’ll pass.

This restaurant is not customer service oriented, female waitress never stop talking with friends, and everyone(employees)had a party and sat down to eat their food(including the person of the kitchen) while we were waiting for attention, we were the only at that time! We came from Utah specifically for this restaurant and we were surprised of the terrible service that in the moment they served our food(slow) we just started thinking of leaving the place. Food is acceptable. But super expensive. Shrimps and a fish fillet plus lemonade and soda for $ 40 bucks? NOTRECOMMENDEDATALLGOTOANYOTHERPLACE.

Nope. Sorry. I saw the reviews on Unilocal, was in the area and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is a little place in a questionable neighborhood. I don’t mind jenky neighborhoods and if the food is good I enjoy scaring the crap out of my friends by taking them there. The restaurant was not clean which I consider very important, especially with fish. A place can be worn or old but still clean. This place was not. I ordered mixto ceviche and shrimp cocktail. The good news is that the portions are gigantic and will easily feed two, maybe three people. When I ordered the cocktail, she asked if I wanted it cold or warm. I’ve never had warm shrimp cocktail(has anyone?) and told her so, just to be sure. She said I could have it either way so I ordered it cold. It came out warmer than room temp, smelled strongly of fish(which it should not have) and was completely inedible. I felt ripped off. The mixto ceviche on the other hand was great. It was the right temp, bright, acidic and everything a good ceviche is supposed to be. They use imitation crab and there is not an equal amount of octopus to the other seafood ingredients. It’s too bad this place fell flat. One last thing. The girl at the register took my money and without washing her hands filled a bag of chips for me. How much fecal matter was on that cash and now, how much are on my chips?

Best seafood on either side of the border hands down. Make sure to meet«Chente» himself. Cooking seafood for over 30 years. He’s always on point with his dishes. Ceviches, caldos, and mojaras are all delicious. Al Vapor(peeled w/out head) is one of my many favorites dishes. Once you eat here. Everywhere else is like eating garbage.

If I could give it more stars I would. It’s by far the best place to go eat ceviche.

I’ve just moved to Cali so en route I got confused and went to the one on Imperial instead of Inglewood Ave. I called to ask if it was the same as the Inglewood Ave. one and they said yes and I didn’t feel like traveling again so I took a chance; BIGMISTAKE! I had a fish dish that was the special on Fridays(don’t recall the name but I’ve uploaded the photos) and although the portion was gigantic and it was only like 7.99, I definitely got what I paid for! I got really sick(I thought maybe it was the beans and rice, not the fish) all through the night. I felt nauseous and not to be graphic but I was planted on the toilet all night long and couldn’t sleep. Like the insane person I am(maybe overly optimistic) I thought maybe it was something I ate earlier, so the next day I warmed up my left overs(rice and beans were finished; only tortilla and half of fish left) and that night, SAMETHING. Nauseous and the runs. I played it safe the rest of the week. It’s a shame because the food was flavorful but I think I will try the Inglewood location next time and stay away from the cheaper specials. I also thought, not to be rude that the owner’s singing was a bit obnoxious. I heard music playing and thought, WOW, how the hec did that person get a record deal? I got so annoyed I was about to go up and ask the waitress if she could please change the song, and then before I could I spotted the owner on the mic, singing his heart out(can you say AWKWARD??) and so I thought it would be impolite so I kept it moving. I wont revisit the Imperial location but after the rave reviews on other outlets I am willing to give it another shot(but bring the Pepto just in case!).

When I’m feeling shrimp, I think Marisco’s Chente in Lennox. Mariscos Chente serves shrimp — lots and lots of shrimp. My favorites: Camarones Aguachiles — enormous, raw, lemon-soaked shrimp, heads still on, arranged in a circle and facing outward, antennae dangling over the side of the dish, and covered in an unexpectedly delicate cucumber and green chile salsa. I loved how the spicy jalapeño sauce pairs well with the sweetness of the shrimp. Camarones Culiche — Cooked shrimp with a creamy poblano sauce. Even cooked, the shrimp still retained its sweetness and balanced well with the sauce which had a definite bite to it. Camarones a la Pimienta — shrimp with a butter and pepper sauce. With the addition of the chili and black pepper, I enjoy the burst of flavor that hit my taste buds with every bite. Camarones Checo — shrimp cooked with garlic, ketchup(yes, ketchup), lemon and Mexican salsa. The ketchup adds a hint of sweetness to the tart and pungent flavors of the lemon and garlic. The all-seafood menu is entirely from Nayarit and Sinaloa Mexico. It’s nothing like the standard ranchero cooking of northern Mexico that you find everywhere in L.A. This is explosive cooking — bursting with brightness, tang and spice. Worth a visit!

I used to go to the one that was on Imperial and Yukon. The service is ok. I actually like this one better. Mostly because Lennox has a special place in my heart! I love their cocktel de camaron

One check in and I’m already a fan. Yup! Even the hubby and my daughter are fans!!! Well, the boy got an apple soda, some 25 cent bubble gum, and a picture with one of the spooky Halloween décor dudes, so he’s a fan, too!!! Lol… Of course we Unilocal*ed this place. Except for the cemetery, we’re not familiar with the area. We Unilocal*ed one place with great reviews, but when we drove up, place had a «B» grade. Not to be discriminatory, but I don’t dine at places that start with a «B». Great news was that Mariscos Chente was down the street, and they have an «A»!!! Yay!!! We walked in all confused, and the waitress could tell we were. We were prompted to sit wherever we wanted to, so we opted for the covered porch-like area right by the entrance. It’s a small place, but every other table was taken(good sign!!!) We ordered our usuals: a campechana without oysters for the hubby, shrimp ceviche(citrus marinated, not cooked) for myself, and my girl ordered her buttered shrimp plate. My boy isn’t a fan of seafood yet, and they don’t have a kids menu(where we usually order a quesadilla and fries) so he had McD’s later… While we waited for our mariscos, we were served really good, thick chips and and really good, watery salsa. The salsa reminded us of an aguachiles kind of taste: spicy and tangy, but good!!! We watched TV on 3 different screens(2 in the room we were in, and one in the main dining room). All the while, people were coming in to enjoy the food here(another good sign!). They don’t serve alcohol anymore, and our waitress admitted that the menu needs to be changed/updated. You are welcome to bring your own booze, and they actually recommend you take a quick walk to the liquor store across the way should you feel the need for a good brew with your meal. The couple behind us actually took a few trips across the street, but I’m not judging… Hubby was more than content with his campechana. For the first time in a long time he wasn’t able to finish his food!!! The serving was that generous!!! My girl enjoyed her shrimp combo plate. She left the shrimp heads, though. Im’ma have to teach baby girl how to slurp those babies down!!! Myself, the hubby, our waitress, and my bro(via text) told her she’s missing out… She’s only 11… There still time!!! Lol… I shared some of my shrimp ceviche, and I still left about 7 shrimp on my plate. They serve *a lot* of seafood. The prices all average about $ 12 a plate, and it’s definitely worth the price for all the yum seafood you can try to devour!!! Hubby have the thumbs up to return again when we’re in the area. So, Yay!!! to Marisco’s Chente!!! Thanks for the great meal!!! Hope it’s just as great when we return again later!!!
