I very rarely rate any restaurant five stars, but this place definitely earns it. I’ve been here many times and would call this one of my favorites in KC. Their food is really good and service is always fast. They’ve got an awesome lunch specials for under $ 8 that you can also order at dinner time for a $ 1 more. I prefer to do this because the lunch entrée comes with hummus, salad, and rice. This is a great place to take people that aren’t familiar with Middle Eastern food. There’s something for everyone and the flavors aren’t super foreign like some might think. Lastly, I really like the staff here. After visiting only a few times, they will remember you which I appreciate.

Great food, speedy service, definitely recommend this place! The gyro meat was part beef and part lamb and it was some of the best I’ve had in KC. Had some burnt pieces which were very flavorful. The pita bread was excellent too. We had the hummus plate for an appetizer and the gyro dinners, enough for two for sure. Very yummy :)

We live less than 2 miles from this restaurant and yet we do not get there enough. We leave completely satisfied and full every time. The prices aren’t bad either. If you like Mediterranean food at all, you will not be disappointed here.

We lived in Jeddah for 3 years back in the 80’s — lived down the street from a restaurant that had the best hummus, baba ganoush, kibbeh, kefta, and kunafa. One bite here and we both go back to that wonderful place. Very authentic and really good Turkish coffee! Plus it is next door to where we get fresh Arabic bread and zatar!

This was the best dining experience I have ever had. The staff is wonderfully attentive, the food is exceptional and the price is spot on. I’ve driven past this place for years and never stopped in. It is now on our list of regular favorites. I had the Chicken Shawarmah which was truly incredible. The chicken was charbroiled to perfection yet tender and flavorful. I also had a bowl of Lentil Soup which was wonderful as well. My daughter had the Gyro Meat Salad which was, in a word, spectacular. The gyro meat was so tender and perfectly spiced. Even the Pita bread was warm, fresh and addictive. Keep up the good work… we’ll be back.

The service was below the average. The waitress never smiled and when we asked him about the menu, I couldn’t believe that his answer was ”I don’t know! Read and figure out the menu”. I don’t recommend it if want to feel comfortable while eating. If there is less than a star I would choose it.

Food tasted fresh and service was fairy quick. You can’t beat their lunch specials at $ 7. I also witnessed the owner giving away free lunch to two military people behind me which was cool to see.

Wow! I’m a huge fan of Middle Eastern food and I’ve dined in many different restaurants. This is the best, absolutely. I’m amazed that the lamb, shawarma and hummus taste better than ANY I’ve ever tried in my 56 years on this planet. Finely ground and mixed humus. Normally I don’t care for baba ganoush but theirs is heavenly because it doesn’t have that tiny bitter aftertaste common to the appetizer. Try this place and you’ll want it for the rest of your life. Oh the saffron rice was delightful.

I really appreciate Holy Land Café after going to an awful restaurant in Las Vegas. I was expecting Holy Land Baba Ganoush and got crap instead, it was just awful! I truly love all the food here, a gem in Kansas. Go there and see for your self.

Are you looking for a good deal? This is your place. Most lunches are $ 7-$ 8 and they feed you well. Not much of a wait to get in. And the food comes out pretty quickly to get you on your way. I had the sun dried tomato dish which came with hummus, salad and rice all on one plate. The staff is nice and they make sure your drinks are filled at all times.

My chicken and beef shawarmah lunch special($ 7.00) was delicious, with plenty of nicely seasoned meat, tasty hummus, fresh pita, rice, and salad. The service was fast, and somewhat friendly, even though the restaurant filled quickly. Excellent!

We were craving Greek and wanted to try a place a little closer than our Greek standby: Tasso’s. A friend has been recommending Holy Land for quite some time, so we decided to head in and give it a try. This place was FANTASTIC. Smelled incredible the second we walked in. They were very accommodating of our large party with three kids in tow. Lots of different languages being spoken throughout the facility, which added to the ambiance. The food was awesome across the board. I tried the hummus, baba ganouj, falafel, tabouli, spanakopita, dolmathes, jerusalem salad, lentil soup, chicken biryani, gyro, and pita. Everything was fantastic. Items that get the highest marks were the biryani, baba ganouj, and dolmathes. The gyro was a little different than your typical Greek gyro, but still very good. Food = 4⁄5 Facility = 3⁄5 Service = 2⁄5 Ambiance = 3⁄5 Value = 4⁄5

I’ve been here a few times and never got around to writing a review. Today, I did a lunch take out and ordered the gyro sandwich combo. They have a pretty decent lunch menu. Most items are $ 7. Not too shabby but, I was a little disappointed in my meal, more so the side salad. It had one piece of feta, one cucumber, one tomato and one olive. Seriously! Note to self. In the past, I’ve ordered the gyro plate and one of their shrimp dishes and was not disappointed. I really would love to give them 4 stars but, based on my last experience, 3 stars seems fair enough.

It’s a neat place. The ambiance is humble, although i was a bit surprised about the reception. As, i entered there was no one at to receive us and take us to a table. In the midst of the confusion, my husband pointed out to a booth and said«lets sit and see what happens». Soon enough a guy showed up with the menu and asked us for our order. I scrolled through their menu and saw Turkish coffee, I had heard so much about it that I had a strong desire to savor one. Stronger than my concern about my acne breakouts. Recently i discovered that having coffee causes acne to me. Yeah, think about it how sad can it get. I loved coffee and now i can’t drink it. So anyhow I ordered a cup of Turkish Coffee. And it was unlike the coffee we get at Starbucks or any similar café, not even close. It was aromatic and lightly sweetened with a strong flavor of cardamon. I had to content myself with a few sips. The food in the menu looked amazing, and i wanted to order everything so i ordered a appetizer platter, which included hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, tabbouleh salad, Jerusalem salad, Dolma, spanakopita and pita bread. In which i got a little of everything. And everything was perfectly prepared, and every bite was flavorful.

I came into the plaza for the Taco Bell but Holy Land Café seemed so much better! Passed on Unilocal so I went in. The cashier isn’t the friendliest and the interior isn’t the mosy grand but their gyro is delish! Also, their baba ganoush(eggplant dip) is one of the best I’ve had. On the downside, my husband got the shawarma and he said it was a bit dry. I need to try everything else on their menu but its hard to pass up the gyro. –_-v

This place is over priced and jakey at best. I had some«hummus» that tasted like deviled eggs. I also got served beef that was supposed to be lamb. I have given them three tries and there out! IMHO…
