Really like this place. Food, service and atmosphere are always very good. They do a good happy hour. Drinks are made well. Appetizers are always delicious.

.Ok food servers, restaurant people– help me out here… went to Blue Moose in Lenexa for restaurant week(3 courses for $ 33) last night with 5 of our neighbors. 5 of the 6 of us got our meals, we waited for the 6th meal– nothing… we asked our server and he said he would ‘check on it’-nothing! I AMNOT KIDDING-we had the manager ‘check on it’ FOURTIMES!!! Do U know how long that takes?!? We had all finished our meals by the time the 6th meal came. We told the manager this was completely unacceptable! He said he agreed & he would«take care of it». Our bill comes… and NOTHING, ZIP, NADA is taken off the bill! We ask for the manager AGAIN!!! He comes back with our bill that has been reduced by $ 8!!! now I am not a numbers person but even if you divide $ 33 by 3 you don’t get $ 8 and the entrée is ALWAYS the most expensive portion of your bill… oh and every single one of our bills were incorrect! #wontbegoing backanytimesoon!!! #bluemooseslenexaSUCKS!!!

I took my kids there last night and we had an awesome dinner. First of all the atmosphere in the Lenexa location is great for families early dinner and the food was fabulous! I had the petite filet under 600 calories and it filled me up! Love this place as a regular hang out!

We went to Blue Moose Grill to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy Game 1 of World Series. The service was excellent, the food was good and well plated. Tuesday $ 10 wine bottle special was such a great deal. The restaurant offers a nice selection of the usual bar fare, but also provides unique entrees and specials. Recommendations: fish and chips, chipotle braised short ribs.

Overpriced bar food that’s just a bit fancier. I loved the KC Hopps restaurants when they all had different menus. Now, they are all the same. The burgers are okay. The Mac and cheese is good but expensive. I love the fried pickles but they are always so overly greasy. Service is generally good but it’s not a go to for us by any means.

Went here for a business lunch for sixteen people. We called several days ahead. They had ZERO business when we had our meeting on a Sunday afternoon, yet they crammed us in like sardines. Hmmm, well, what will I choose to have in front of me, my Macbook or my food? My colleagues and I got to bump elbows a lot. Good thing we pretty much all like each other, as it was close quarters. I will not go back here for a meeting. I might try it again if I am out about and just want to eat or grab a drink.

Party of four family members for lunch. We ordered Small Plate Breaded Artichoke Hearts and Fried pickles. Both were fantastic. Lunch my sis-in-law ordered the special crab sandwich which she couldn’t put down. My brother and I ordered the Artichoke Bisque(of course I got the cup) he got the bowl. That for me was the highlight of the entire meal. My nephew had the Cheddar Ale soup. He said was very tasty and had a bit of a kick at the end and you could definitely taste the Ale as well. The boys ordered a Short Rib and Pepperjack Pannini. They offered up no complaints. Our server was fantastic. Of course the ladies had to have dessert to go. We got the chefs daily special cheesecake. I wasn’t too sure I got the name right but the crust was snicker doodle so I figured it would be good. Will let you know. The manager even came by to ask took the cake there with me!

We love this place! It has become our favorite«go to» place with reasonable everyday happy hour drinks and Thirsty Thursday having the best prices around! This is an extremely well run place with excellent service and some of the nicest staff you’ll find. They modified their yummy nachos for our Vegan Diet… take a look at the picture of them… BEAUTIFUL!!!

Food is consistent and tasty. Love the happy hour specials– specifically the steak quesadillas and nachos. Beer is always cold and the mixed drinks are tasty.

Same menu I’ve seen at Barley’s so I knew I’d like the food & I did. Shared a spinach dip & tried a martini from the specialty menu. I meant to try some different ones but I liked this one so much I just ordered it two more times. I would have liked getting all drinks in on the happy hour prices but the response was a bit slow. Took nearly 10min after ordering the second martini before it arrived. It wasn’t real busy at the time either. It is a nice place for happy hour but just faster service time would have made it great.

They have slightly more upscale food than your average place and the atmosphere is warm. The service was fantastic and I highly recommend the mooseritas, thats their signature blue margarita. Overall a very nice dining experience.

I’ve been to Blue Moose several times. I’m not a big fan because it’s more of a family resturauant than a bar. I go to a bar to have fun and not to see kids and families. The TV’s aren’t good compared to other close bars and when we asked them to turn up the sound they actually grabbed the TV remote control. LOL. Apparently they can’t play games over a speaker system. The food was ok and staff was ok. I go to Brewbakers a lot then my second choice around this area is Johhnys. A buddy and I went to Brewbakers one time to watch a game but all seats were taken so we went to Blue Moose and there wasn’t a single person was sitting at the bar. That speaks volumes, it’s just not a bar hangout.

Our 20 minute wait took 40. Tables were left unbussed and service staff wandered aimlessly as we waited. Our first round of drinks(3 beers) took longer than our appetizer– which took enough time on its own. I couldn’t get our servers attention and had to go to the bar to get a pint glass for my milk stout. One of the tap beers had a fruit fly, and arrived a chipped glass– and the chipped piece of glass in the beer. He flagged a server for a replacement, no problem. Our meals and app took so long we wondered if our server forgot to put them in. The quesadilla was one of the better bar quesadillas I’ve had. Crispy, not soggy, plenty of quality cheese, and served with a Chipotle ranch side. Our meals arrived hot, but took 35 minutes. when my grilled cheese panini arrived, it was just Kraft singles slices between slices of white bread. Because despite seeing where I was pointing, and confirming my order(with fries) he thought I wanted a literal grilled cheese(without fries). The manager came over with an ear splitting voice prattling on about how I didn’t speak clearly, and the actual sandwich would be right out. The Mahi tacos were«fine» and the shrimp curry was bland. My sandwich, once corrected was good. Very spicy. Fries were pretty bland, however. I could have excused any one of those things happening, but all together it made for an absolutely horrible experience. I won’t be returning, and strongly suggest you look elsewhere for dining/drinking.

I chose to drive here which was the furthest from me out of the three Blue Moose Bar & Grille locations because it was a nice day to go cruisin’ around. One of my coworkers told me that Blue Moose wasn’t that great and another said it was bar food. I specifically came here to try their restaurant week lunch menu. I came maybe around 11:30am and this place was almost empty. I sat in a booth and noticed every booth had a tv which was playing a college basketball game. My waitress was Bailey and she was nice. She actually reminded me of my friend and I eventually found out that she wasn’t related to my friend(don’t know if you don’t ask). A lot of the food on their regular menu was under $ 20 with a couple over. I ordered from the restaurant week lunch menu and ordered the 6 Cheese Mac & Cheese Croquettes, Pork Meatball Banh Mi, and Bailey’s Coffee & Cream Napoleon($ 6). The restaurant week menu was 2 for $ 15 so I added that dessert on because my waitress heard it was good. I don’t believe any of those were on their regular menu unless the 6 Cheese Mac & Cheese Croquettes was similar to the Smoked Cheddar Mac & Cheese Croquettes($ 7.99). The 6 Cheese Mac & Cheese Croquettes came out first and there were 3 of them. It was not bad but I couldn’t tell there were 6 cheeses. Anybody who likes Mac & Cheese will like that regardless if there’s 6 cheese or not. It filled me up some but I wasn’t quite full. The Pork Meatball Banh Mi came out a little later. It had a lot of everything on the sandwich so i was barely able to close it without stuff overflowing. It was okay but was flavorful. I thought it had similar flavors to a Vietnamese banh mi. The fries included were okay and nothing special to me. While I was maybe around halfway through my sandwich, my dessert came out to my table. I was surprised because dessert doesn’t come out until after the table was done with an entrée. I felt a little rushed because of that and I didn’t like that. The Bailey’s Coffee & Cream Napoleon was delicious and a lot of chocolate. In fact, it had a little too much chocolate so I found myself drinking. Besides that, it was still good to me. Two people can easily share it. I thought Blue Moose Bar & Grille was okay and probably good if you’re there to watch a game.

Eh? Not bad, but not great. Also wish they would bring back that limoncello crème torte! It was amazing.

On the rare occasion that I write a review, I always give restaurants a better score than say, a retail establishment. This being said, I would give The Blue Moose a 5 star plus rating. Their food and service is exemplary and when I’m close to home. I eat here about 90% of the time. I was looking on my KCHops card(everybody should get one of these) and I’ve had over 200 visits to this location. In that time, I’ve had one snarky waitress and one waiter who swiped my rewards card. Both times, instant resolution, which in this PC, cumbaya, no resolution society is incredible. Some people have a high expectation of the cuisine, so in that case, grab a couple of hundred for you and your date and go somewhere else. If you want comfort food or low cal meals, you are in luck. Great steaks, they have them too. And the desserts are out of this world. So, if you’re a low maintenance, grateful person, you have found the perfect restaurant. Enjoy!

I’ve been coming to the Blue Moose on Woodland for a long time, and can honestly say my family has never had a bad experience. Food is always great, the service is friendly and helpful, and they are great, and I mean GREAT with small children. Definitely a place for families of any age. Oh, and the Sunday brunch is awesome.

These KCHopps people sure do get around! I had no idea there was a Blue Moose this far out in the ‘burbs, and I had no idea they were part of KCHopps. On to the review! We went here as a large group on a Tuesday night. The service was pretty good. The food came out relatively quickly. Towards the end of the meal, we did not see our waitress as often as needed, BUT we did(kind of) close the place down so her sparseness was understandable. Once we found her to request the checks, she was very quick and proficient in getting them and accurately splitting charges which was appreciated. The food was good to a-okay. I really appreciate that they have some items listed as 600 calories or less. This made my eating healthier a little easier. The portion was plenty on both the light dishes and the full dishes. We had a varied spread, including roast chicken, Greek pizza, burgers, light chicken, etc. I was pleased with my choice, but a few folks were disappointed, especially with the roast chicken. It’s not amazing food, but it’s good enough for what it is. There were 2 things that stood out to me here. 1– They have TVs everywhere… and I mean EVERYWHERE. Each table had it’s own TV. Part of me thinks that’s awful and sad. Another part says, «hey maybe this would be a great place to watch that obscure sports game that I can never get the big bars to put on their tv!» 2– They have some pretty great specials. Tuesday is wine night where they have 10 bottles of wine for $ 10. Pretty good deal, and it was decent wine. On one of our bottles, the waitress couldn’t get the cork out, and it broke. To my knowledge that could suggest oxidized wine, too dry a cork, poor storage, or maybe just a wine opening mistake. I appreciated that the waitress asked if we would like a fresh bottle. For the«second» one, she arrived at the table with it already open. She said she had the bartender open it for her… Call me a skeptic, but it did make me wonder if it was just the same bottle. However, I did not notice any cork bits or residue so I’m 90% certain she was being honest. Overall, I would not necessarily come to Blue Moose for great food, but I would come here if I wanted a casual night with good drink specials or a place to casually watch a game at my own table.

Same family of Barley’s — good spot for lunch. Happy and friendly servers and hostesses and overall pleasant vibe. The fish tacos are delish — and their chipotle ranch.

Consistent service, nothing special but nothing wrong. However the brunch is AMAZING as is the food in General… on their normal menu. We love coming here… come right at 10 am if you can when they open on Sundays for the brunch!
