Nothing like the original– I think they changed the recipe of the pizza. The restaurant is in a bowling alley and isn’t very classy. Try the original on Pulaski on the far south side of Chicago.

I’m not a fan of any beef, not even Italian Beef(except Portillos). When my husband wanted to try the Italian Beef pizza here, I opted to have veggies on my half. But I tasted a bite of his Italian Beef pizza and WAS I SORRY I HADN’T ORDEREDIT. It will be my new go-to pizza at Nicky V’s. Because it’s a long distance from our home, we only go to this place to hear a band they sometimes feature on Saturday evenings and have always ordered the traditional sausage or pepperoni pizza which are both really yummy. The thin crust is perfect, especially if you have to measure or watch your carb content. We’re bringing out of state relatives here next week — «the deliciousness has landed» to quote Sponge Bob. I love my Lou’s, but I don’t feel bloated or stuffed to the gills after eating pizza here.

Hellur? I’m confused with some of the reviews. So here’s my take… I’ve happened to go to both Vito and Nick’s. The first time was to the one on Pulaski. It’s been there for 50 or so years. We ordered smelts, some stuff I’ve forgotten, and pizza. Smelts were in season and I hadn’t had any since I was a kid… totally addictive. Then there was the pizza. Ah the pizza. No it’s not pretty. Is pizza supposed to be pretty? Or is it supposed to be a delicious mess of cheese, sauce, meat and other goodies? After eating my first little square or two I panicked– is there enough? We didn’t order enough because I could eat all three of these. Dear god did we order enough for everyone else because I’m willing to slip slices of this into my purse to have some for later. Then I was told there’s another location in Lemont… not far from my parents. After talking about it non-stop, my sister and I took them there and shared my discovery. This one shares a building with a bowling alley. It was just as phenomenal as the Chicago location. Here’s the thing with V&N’s– it’s a neighborhood joint. No glitz and glam. That’s not why you go here. You go for that thin crusted beast of a pizza.

I am not sure about the bad reviews but I just moved to the area from the city. Vito & Nicks has one of if not the best thin crust pizzas I have ever had. I have tried pizza from all over the city, suburbs and country but this pace is my favorite. It is addictive!!!

I was looking forward to trying Vito and Nick’s after seeing them on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Well, I tried it and was not impressed. If you like pizza there are dozens of better places in the Chicago area. When the dominating flavor on your pizza is salt then there’s a problem!

Well, I might as well have lit my borrowed copy of Jillian Michaels’ ‘No more trouble zones’ on fire after planning on sneaking just theteenytiniestlittlepiece of pizza but ending up 10 pieces in and still wanting more. But again, it was a borrowed copy and I will not have the wrath of mega weight-loss and work out guru/owner of said borrowed copy of dvd, Brooke H, on my hands. Nooo way… Hoes, eh. Was it worth the set back in my quest for total calorie control and immaculate body domination? Well, I know in 5 minutes when I finish this review that I’m going right back to fridge to eat s’more… so yes, right now it’s SO worth it. Just don’t ask me that when I’m whimpering my way through some push ups and god forsaken lunges later on tonight. As for the ‘za, it was a little shocking to see its funky lava-like color when I was expecting it to be that ‘normal’ yellowy/whitish cheese color but because the pizza cheese layer is so thin, the sauce shines through and makes it that unique color. Love it! The crust is über thin and that’s exactly how I like my pie. I want to be able to fold it while flaunting my ability to binge eat 20 pieces… Kobayashi style. The only thing I could nit pick would be that I was hoping I’d be able to taste the sauce a little more, given the pizza’s overall saucy color but that wasn’t the case. No biggie, I’ll just ask for a little extra sauce next time. I’ll defo(send my wonderful Dad to) go back for more.

This place has been around for a quite a while. It has been featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Its not a diner or a drive-in, so you figure it out. Anyway, the food is quite wonderful Italian fare. Went here with a work associate, and we couldn’t decide between pizza and meatball sandwiches, so we got both, and both were quite marvelous. They specialize in thin crust pizza, so if you’re not into that you may want to subtract a star from the rating(there are a lot of other things on the menu though). There is a bowling alley in front, and a bar in the back with the dining room sort of in between. The place probably didn’t look much different in 1978, but it’s got that Chicagoland, old bowling alley /Italian food place sort of charm. If you’re looking for fancy don’t go here; it’s really about the food and the classic Italian comfort food here is very decent.

The only thing that makes me not like this place is that we could not bowl! They do leagues on Saturday nights– so I guess its our own fault for not planning ahead but I had a great dinner here last Saturday. A friend lives in Palos Heights and we were just looking for pizza. He suggested this place. Waitress, Colleen, was beyond friendly. Very helpful and willing to offer suggestions when we didn’t know which appetizers to get. We had jalapeño poppers, cheesy garlic bread and breaded zucchini. I recommend all three. We got cheese and sausage pizza– i know, how original. But it was great. I would definitely go back again. You aren’t getting gourmet Italian fare at this place, its a standard pizza joint with plastic cups and paper napkins but everyone there was great. No one rushed us out when we wanted to sit and chat(and laugh loudly) after we finished our meals. The murals on the wall are cute but you can’t help but notice the perspective is skewed. But really, this place is great!

my folks go to this one and the one on pulaski all the time, they took me here last weekend. the pizza was very good. we had straight up sausage which i actually don’t like their sausage as much as say home run inn, but the sauce was tasty. we were feeling daring so we went for this egg pizza which i am glad we tried but i would not do that again. egg does not belong on pizza just like pineapple and chicken or anything bbq should stay off pizza. on the egg pizza we had the pepperoni which was tasty, i liked it better than the sausage. we got the house salad which was really pretty bad.
