The food is amazing. The employees are extremely friendly, and every time I go there I feel like I’m home. Would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone!

I learned do not call in your order because they may or maynot have it ready, and some of your food although you have to wait, is cold. So disappointed with this trip to pick up food. Two stars because they did not have my order, and part of my food items were cold.

If I could give a zero, I would. Only based on the quality of the food. My boyfriend picked up a carne asada quesadilla for me on his way home. 1. It’s not even folded like a quesadilla. I basically got a burrito. Toasted on some parts. Kinda burned on the other. 2. The meat was gross. It tasted like it was old. 3. I asked for beans, guac and sour cream in it. It was filled with beans. Barely any of the mediocre meat. It was soggy and immediately fell apart when I picked it up. Other taco shops make great quesadillas with the ingredients I ask for. Never falls apart. The only positive thing I can say is that the cashier that answered the phone was very polite and told me I can go back and return it. Never going back.

Our food was mediocre. My boyfriend got a California burrito and I got a combination plate with two carne asada tacos with rice and beans. As we both ate our food we agreed that the carne asada had a strange taste, to be honest it didn’t even taste like meat to me. As my boyfriend continued eating he noted that the carne asada actually tasted it like chicken, possibly because they cook it in the same grill. The beans and rice were alright and the salsa was very watery, no spice what so ever. Maybe next time we’ll try the chicken which is so raved about.

Awesome place. Love the 2 piece chicken meal with rice and beans and tortillas. I get it with a side of guacamole. Service is fast and excellent. Gets crowded during lunch rush

Went here for the first time today with my friend for lunch. She said the food was good and she was right, they didn’t disappoint. The restaurant has an open kitchen and everything seemed clean and neat. You can see the chicken being grilled, which is great. I ordered a grilled chicken meal, 2 pieces with rice and beans. Boy was it good!!! My friend had the California Burrito with chicken, it looked good too. I’ll definitely be back!!!

An individual from pollo grill emailed me, didn’t offer to make things right for me, but did make a promise to improve training.

Best of the best or SoCal grilled chicken. We usually get the 8 piece family meal with flour tortillas, refried beans, and rice. Chicken is always tasty, juicy and grilled to perfection. We’ve had other items from their men, tacos, burritos but the chicken is the star here. It’s constantly reviewed as one of the Mexican-style broiled chicken in town, and if you ask me, its well earned. I look forward to enjoying El Pollo Grill for years to come.

Every time I call an order in I’m on hold for too long, the chicken entrees are delicious and cooked well, EVERYTHINGELSE, is horrible, the quesadillas are engineered by elementary school kids, with a pound of cheese slapped in the middle of a big tortilla, leaving a good sixty five percent of the tortilla untouched by cheese, I have never in my life heard of or seen a quesadilla cooked this way and it’s horrible, they never have green hot sauce, the breakfast burritos are always soggy, along with any crane asada, if you want anything other than their main chicken dishes, save yourself and go elsewhere.

Best of the best! You won’t find better grilled chicken in Southern California. Excellent refried beans and rice. Portions are large and quality is alway, consistently good. Very busy place but the wait is never long. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Restaurant is clean and welcoming. What more can I say?! Thank you El Pollo Grill.

Im addicted to this place. Best chicken in town. Mexican style flame grilled, so good. They do it perfect every time. My family says that their burritos are good as well, i just can’t get passed the chicken.

I have been going here every Saturday for 10 years for lunch. I enjoy the Special B. The chicken is perfectly cooked by Ernesto. The french fries and chips are freshly cooked by Brenda to order. Elizabeth and Martha have been taking my order for a long time. I very much like the food. I think this is as good as it gets.

I’ve had my fair share of good Mexican food and this place is definitely up there. The cashiers are super nice! Their rice and beans are amazing. Fries are made to order. The carne asada has a great seasoning to it. Not the biggest fan of their salsas though(both verde and roja). Wish they had more options like habanero and whatnot. Definitely try their«special A» grilled chicken with corn tortilla! It’s what they’re known for!

This review is for the Chili Verde served on Thursdays and the restaurant. First the restaurant — I got there at 1:40 and it was quite busy — though I was able to find an unoccupied table. It is a worker’s place to have a great meal. Plaid flannel shirts, boots, hungry men and women of all nationalities — but mostly Mexican(a good sign!!) — stop here to hunker down over their plates and chow down on some serious food! The inside of this restaurant has presence. One gets the vibe that there is more going on here than food; it’s about family, love of labor and community. The sign says«We do not serve fast food, we serve freshly prepared food». The Chile Verde: I was not disappointed. I am not sufficiently impressed to drive the 30 miles back there to try it again. I have had better. The pork was succulent and full flavored, but the verde sauce was not very interesting, spicy or complex in flavor. It had a hint of allspice or clove — and apple cider vinegar. The rice and beans were fresh, but had a little more salt than I am accustom to. Oddly, there was some red chili flakes in the chili verde. I’m thinking that was someone’s shortcut for leaving out the fresh green chilis. Not good. I like my chili verde a little chunky with pieces of tomatillos, peppers and maybe pieces of zucchini. I didn’t see any of that. So, my verdict is «Good chili verde, but not great chili verde.» This meal was less than $ 10, so I’m not going to go ballistic here. It’s a great restaurant and a fine meal. It just isn’t «competition quality chili verde». If you like chile verde and know where there is competition quality chile verde, let me know. I will head north later this week to Encinitas to try another candidate.

Its been hot lately, to hot to turn the oven or stove on at home. So on a recommendation we came to try El Pollo Grill. Having been living in the area for almost a year there have been several misses when it comes to dinning out, well its safe to put El Pollo Grill on the«hit» list. Definitely a healthier choice that some chicken places. These here birds are broiled and not deep fried. They have the traditional Mexican food items on the menu but we opted for the strait up Chicken meal plates. I ordered the meal option A: Two pieces of Chicken, Rice, Beans, and Tortillas, all for under $ 10. Which is a pretty sweet deal in my opinion. Their home made Guac and Salsa were pretty awesome too.

Pros: good quality Mexican food, the beans are amazing, the food never has an old stale taste it’s always fresh. Prices are a little high but I’d rather pay more for better quality. Burritos are a good size. Cons: area, parking sucks, salsa isn’t tasty, jalapeños & carrots could be fresher. They also don’t accept bills over 20. Overall tastiest Mexican food place I’ve come across.
