Always pleasant n great table service. Excellent food. And they even handle the Lanai at Compass Pointe too. We’ve been blessed to have Macgrooders.

My husband and I ate at Charlie Macgrooders for the first time today. We were pleasantly surprised, not only was our rib eye cooked perfectly and delicious, our waitress(Christina) was very friendly and sweet. We will definitely be dining here again.

Outstanding service! we came here our last night in town something’s seemed good like the burger my wife ordered a scallop dinner that was not as described and 23.00. More of a diner with a bar with a few pricey items. I would return for the burgers and staple foods.

Looking for a new place to eat lunch. So a friend and I stopped in and was overall a great experience. I had the bbq chicken and my friend had the sliders. Both were exceptional. A good price for the quality of food. Also had a pretty big selection of food. Waitress was very nice and the place was clean. I do not drink, it is a bar by night so taking kids there in the evenings would not be a smart choice.(that is my opinion) Will surely go back there and eat again. A+

We just got to Leland and we saw a lot of chain restaurants but we can eat at those any place so we just googled local restaurants in Leland and we liked the name of the restaurant and it had good reviews so we figured we’d try it. Looking at it from the outside, we were concerned as it was in a sort of out of the way strip mall that looked old and nondescript. But we tried it anyhow and we were sure happy we did! The place is cozy… it reminds you somewhat of family restaurants in the 1980’s while still being updated. Wood paneling, a cute local type bar at the front of the restaurant and even an older woman singing and playing guitar in the little«band» area. Whom by the way, was super talented and gave us great entertainment throughout our dinner. The service was awesome. We had a younger guy as a server and he was just super polite and friendly. The menu had a lot to offer from burgers to seafood. We were craving burgers so we ordered those and my son ordered the quesadilla as well as an order of onion rings. To say the food was delicious was an understatement. For a regular everyday burger, it was so beyond expectations. We ordered the Texas Chili burger and it was out of this world yummy… lots of toppings, delicious chili and even 2 fat beer battered onion rings on top of that. For only $ 7.49! It came with delicious shoe string fries and even the garlic pickle was soooo good! The onion rings are perfect… melt in your mouth beer battered type with almost no grease. We walked in with absolutely no expectations and walked away with just a wonderful experience from the entertainment to food itself. Our bill for 2 adults and 112 year old was under $ 30 — everyone got drinks and food and an appetizer. Seriously… if you are on a budget and want a good family dinner out, this is the place! It was interesting to see how long people stayed here too — people didn’t really leave… there wasn’t a rush to go and they weren’t rushing you out to turnover the table. It was a fantastic flashback as to how great a local restaurant can really be and if we back in the area and anywhere close to that restaurant, we will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a delicious, reasonably priced meal check out this restaurant in downtown Leland. We started our meal with a luscious crab dip complete with small, cheese encrusted bread. The crab dip was scrumptious! Cheesy, subtle and worth the $ 8.95. For the main course I had the French Dip and my husband had Meatloaf Sliders. The French Dip was filled with tender slices of Roast Beef nestled in a soft bun. The Au Jus was delightfully flavored. One of the best French Dip sandwiches I’ve ever had. The Meatloaf Sliders were an original with onion sticks, garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms on soft rolls. Delectable! This restaurant has a classy ambiance and friendly, attentive staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for amazing food and a pleasant dining experience.

Always friendly staff, convenient location and extensive menu. The food leaves just a little to be desired, but as a former restaurant manager, I realize you have to sell the food your clientele wants and for the price they’ll pay. Still, overall great place to grab dinner.

Horrible food, but the«mature» crowd seem to love the place. Good location, but need to condense the menu and do a few things well instead of having a huge menu and all of it being sub-par.

Charlie macgrooders is a hidden gem in Leland. It’s located in the back of a strip mall right off highway 17 with easy access on and off. The atmosphere is very comfortable and crowd is usually a mix of young and old. My family has been there several times over the years and food has been delicious across the board. Last night I had a great vegetable soup and a dozen BBQ wings that were very tasty. My wife had stuffed peppers which were very moist and delicious. All the food is freshly prepared and made to order. The owner is typically there and makes a point to get around to every table. Prices are also very good in comparison with other local laces. The only negative aspect is the service. I’m not sure if its the wait staff or the kitchen but everything seems to take longer than normal. They’re always very nice just slow. Overall if your looking for a clean, friendly place with a diverse and tasty menu give it a try! If your in a hurry this is probably not the place for you. Enjoy!

What a pleasant find. Food was fresh, well prepared and tasty. We had the french onion soup, salads, the blackened mahi sandwhich(very good) and their own«Godfather» chicken sandwhich on ciabata bread. Alll of our food was much better than anticipated and reasonably priced. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Great place for lunch or dinner. Décor was clean and fresh with a pub feel. Highly recommend them if your in the Wilmington area.
