Well, unfortunately our party of 12 just walked out of here! It’s been a few years since we ate here last and we will never return again. So, the place was relatively empty and it took them 10 minutes to seat us. Then, 10 minutes later someone finally came over & took our drink order. Frustrated we still decided to play this one out and give them the benefit of the doubt. However, our drinks never showed up… seriously we waits another 12 – 14 minutes and then we all left. Time to close this baby down! What a debacle.

Good food. Very, very slow service. Plan on spending a couple of hours here. Really not worth the wait to be honest.

We had an 8:30pm reservation. 10:00pm and our food still wasn’t cooking. Soup was pretty much water with green onions. Restaurant was dirty and unappetizing. Tons of wrappers strewn all over waiting area. Final bill was $ 80 for 2 of us. Way overpriced. We got a meal for 2, which included nasty cheapo ice cream. Even McDonald’s ice cream is way better. The only reason it got 2 stars rather than 1 was because the meat was good and the staff was friendly. I will not be going back.

COULDNTBEANYWORSE. Like many other reviewers, I found this one of the worst dining experiences ever — atrocious service, wait times of up to 90 min.(even with a reservation), fair to wretched food, untrained wait staff(when they show up occasionally after intervals of up to 30 min.), and alarmingly unsanitary conditions. ALLTHISAT A PRICEYRESTAURANTWHERETHETEPANYAKISPECIALSRUNABOUT $ 21.99TO $ 49.99, ANDOTHERDISHESAREN’T MUCHLESS. We weren’t seated until 30 min. after our reservation time, and waited an HOUR after being seated before being served any food(the soup and salads that were just sitting in the kitchen waiting to be served). Another 45 min. till a chef showed up to prepare our dinner, even though none of the chefs was cooking at another table(all on a 45 min. break while tables of customers are waiting?). After having been at the restaurant for 90 min. still with no food, I asked for the manager to come over to talk to me. Meanwhile I saw a waitress sneeze into her hand and just wipe her hand on her kimono — the hand she was serving with. DISGUSTING. The server who went to get the manager eventually returned to tell me she refused to come to the table. I went to the front, found her, and told her of all the problems we were having and our 90-minute wait. She did ABSOLUTELYNOTHING to correct the problems; another 20 min. wait to finally get our salads and soup. All the food was wretched, under seasoned and bland or tasteless(but for being heavily over salted), and either over– or under-cooked: the sushi, the tough steak, the dry fish and the vegetables. The salmon had a strong fishy smell, indicating it had been improperly stored. I don’t know how they stay in business– let alone keep drawing customers.

By far the worst customer service I have ever had. We were seated in the corner of the restaurant, none of the tables were cleaned off. We did not receive a drink menu, the staff was extremely unprofessional, they did not seem to care about their job. Finally, after 15 minutes of waiting the waitress came over and took our order, we waited 45 minutes for our meal, the sushi came before our appetizer, it was like an after thought… I think she forgot about our app. She then never came to give us our check, we had to walk to the front and stand there while 2 other waiters cashed out their tables… our waitress came up and gave us our check, very frazzled she said sorry. I did not tip. Worst customer service. If your going to be a waitress, learn some people skills and try a little harder.

So i always look on Unilocal for places to eat when im out of town. Since benihana was 30mins away i settled for this mixed reveiw place on Unilocal.Came in for dinner, slightly funky smell when i walked in but still decided to try. The shrimp tempura was good, as well as the salad. Ordered the filet mignon and lobster with scallops on the side. What i got was not filet, it was either strip steak or round steak. I know what filet tastes like and that was not it. The lobster and scallops were spoiled, past date seafood has a distinct taste this was expired. The rice was ok, veggies had no flavor. 2 stars goes to my waiter who was super sweet and attentive. I wont eat here again though.

Came here with my co workers for the all you can eat sushi lunch and left a little bit disappointed. The fish didn’t taste very fresh. It is sushi buffet quality. They have a very limited selection for the all you can eat lunch. Maybe about 12 rolls. No nigiri. About 2 – 3 appetizers. The place itself doesn’t feel very clean, it was overall very mediocre experience. They automatically charge an 18% gratuity for the buffet. It must’ve been from people not leaving any tips and I understand. Some of the rolls that I did like we’re the sunshine and the playboy.

Good sushi and sashimi with nice thick slices of high-quality fish and not too much rice in the sushi. The teppanyaki is also fun and generally good, although the quality of the food varies somewhat between the different times I’ve been there. I suggest the teriyaki chicken. The beef is okay. The teppanyaki grill is a great place for moderately sized groups to all sit around a grill and watch the chef do his thing. On a down note, they charge you extra for almost every option, such as noodles or fried rice, so stick with the items as they come to reduce your bill.

Horribly service. We sat at our table for 20 minutes with no service at all, not even water. The server took 4 other tables orders before ours. We were there before those 4 tables. The restaurant is dirty. I would give it 0 stars if I could!

I have been to many Tepanyaki /Hibachi places, from Asia to Europe and US but this was probably the least desirable one. I had never to pay an extra $ 3 for fried rice except for this one. I believe the fired rice is part of the entire experience. I ordered NY Steak and Scallops, the temperature was supposed to be medium rare. The chef had 3 steaks with different sizes, unfortunately mine was the smallest and therefore cooked to medium at best. I don’t mind the size but it should be cooked to perfection especially when you are watching it. In addition it was to salty. The veggies were chopped way to large in my opinion and the flavor was a bit off, compared to the other places I have been too. After finishing all my rice, veggies and steak I was finally served my scallops way to late! Ho poured this sweet soy sauce over the scallops which entirely takes the flavor of the scallops away. Also the entertaining factor was not quite there, I used to have much more fun when going to these kind of restaurants. They barley make 3 stars but there is lots of room for improvement.

Our party of 7 went at about 5:20 on a Saturday night. The place was beginning to fill up, but we didn’t have to wait at all. We were given prompt, courteous service, and saw no issues with our orders. The chef was delightful and kept giving various nicknames to everything he was cooking. All obligatory knife tricks and food play were included. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, though one should come to a place like this knowing they’re paying first for the entertainment. There’s nothing particular amazing about the dishes, and I think this may set Tepanyaki just slightly below others(especially Benihana). In particular, I’ve noticed the dishes offered here are slightly more standard(most featuring the same handful of ingredients) and a bit more saucy. But perhaps this isn’t a negative thing – just different.

This was my second visit to the all you can eat sushi special. At $ 13.25 it was a great deal. 4 Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls, 4 Spicy Scallop Hand Rolls, 8 Special Mussels, 1 Philadelphia Roll, 1 Orange Roll and 1 Playboy Roll. I washed it all down with 3 Cokes. The average cost for each item was approximately .75 cents… wow! The best thing of all? It was all fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a great meal deal, you need to give their lunch special a try. Come hungry like I did for maximum value.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and great service! I had the soft shell crab appetizer, spicy tuna hand roll, spicy tun roll and the Rock ‘n Roll roll! I highly recommend all of them!

Delicious, fresh food. We ordered shrimp, salmon, chicken and steak. Plus scallop sushi. My son-in-law was disappointed that their all-you-can-eat sushi is only available for lunch or Sunday brunch. Our chef was entertaining.

I went there for the all you can eat sushi for lunch. I enjoy Sushi House on 500 E in AF, and I really wanted to see how this place compared. It was extremely disappointing. It costs $ 14 a person(plus 18% gratuity). I don’t think I’d pay $ 5 to go back there. The fish was of very low quality, felt slimy and didn’t have very good flavor. I will never go back. If you are reading this to decide if it’s worth going for the sushi, trust me, it is NOTWORTHYOURMONEY. Please go somewhere else. Please. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because their normal food is actually decent.

The food was quite good but I give it 2 stars for the overall experience: 1. Wait time: we had a 7pm reservation and we’re not seated until 7:40. That’s bad clock management. 2. Cleanliness: our countertops were movie-theater-floor sticky. For that reason alone I would not order sushi at that place. 3. The food and entertainment by the chef were great. All in all this place has a lot of potential but there are many other hibachi restaurants around that are a better overall experience for the money.

We have eaten here a few times. After this visit we may never go back again. The service was horrific. I have never been to a restaurant where the staff made you feel uncomfortable. We waited just over a half hour before the chef came out to cook out meal. The server Zack had an arrogance about him self. He gave the impression he wasn’t thrilled at the fact we didn’t order more expensive dishes and all the fixings. We don’t eat red meat or seafood. The manager her self had an attitude as well when we mentioned the bad service. It’s just sad to spend all that money on dinner to be treated that way. We should have gone to McDonalds… At least they serve with a smile. LOL!
