I’ve been coming to Sakura for years now because I have loved the fresh food, variety and service. However, I noticed a slow trend of taking dishes off the menu and upping prices. I continued to come because they still had a few of my favorite dishes. Recent menus change… nothing but a small group of side dishes and over prices bento’s. The curry dish I loved is gone and the grilled salmon salad. I am disappointed because this is what I came for.

All the servers, the cook and everyone else we had the pleasure to interact with where very nice, friendly and pleasant to talk to. The food is great and they always have coupons online available. We love this place! :-)

Food is always pretty good. Service here is ALWAYS horrible. We stopped going because it was awful 3 times in a row. Understaffed big time and very unpleasant hostess. Literally had to go to the bar and pay 2 of the 3 times because we grew so impatient.

Great sashimi plate. Itamae-San went extra distance to carve a swan into a zucchini. Great place.

We ate here on a Wednesday night and arrived at 6:45. We asked to be seated for hibachi and were asked to wait. The place was less than half full with 4 or so hibachi stations open. After waiting 15 minutes we were finally seated. There was a party of 8 dining with us for a 16th birthday party. After being seated it took 10 minutes for them to take our drink order another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The waitress returned 5 minutes later to finally take our order. We had been there for 50 minutes before the chef came out to prepare our meal. The soup was good but my salad was over dressed. I had the ribeye and shrimp. The steak was cooked to my preference and the shrimp were good. The waitress never returned during the meal to replenish our drinks. I had a beer but could have used another or a glass of water. All in all the service was very poor. The food was average but not the best in the area. I would be willing to give this place another try in a couple months. If things don’t change I would not recommend this place.

I prefer going to Otani’s Japanese Steakhouse in Sterling, VA. Opted for Sakura since I live in Leesburg and was picking dinner options around 8pm. Walked in around 8pm. Seated immediately. No other hibachi tables were seated. 2 other couples seated in the table section. Service: Waitress/server — meh. Had a difficult time taking our order for 3 adults, 1 teen. Did not bring a soup spoon and brought a standard spoon for udon soup:( Chef — standard entertainment. Onion volcano, butter butterfly, fire extinguisher toy. Food was prepped and cooked properly. Food: udon soup — too salty, too much soy sauce flavor fried rice — good, not enough flavor Salad — lettuce was fresh, sauce is way too garlicy Soup — onion soup was blah, bits of bacon and was not tasteful. Miso soup is a much better option/choice. Shrimp flambé appitizer– 6 pieces, seasoned well, tasted great Teriyaki chicken entrée — delicious Total was $ 45.00. Overall I would not go again.

This place was TERRIBLE, service was GREAT, the food was just terrible. The soup had french fried onions and mushrooms and tasted what I could imagine toilet water does. The salad dressing what I am guessing was overly gingery and it was TERRIBLE. The veggies had a ton of this gritty seasoning on them and needed to be cooked longer. My husbands med-well filet cooked longer than my chicken, my chicken looks barley cooked I did not eat this. Filet was not good either. Rice was hard, Yum yum sauce was overly sweet with a weird tang. We will be sticking to Kobes. $ 80 Lesson Learned. Sushi was the best part, the diarrhea was the worst.

I have lived in Leesburg for 15 years and was excited to see that there was another Japanese steak house that had opened up. For years, Kobe steak house has been the go to place for my kids birthday dinners. Last night I persuaded my son to try this newer place instead. This review is totally going to be a comparison of Sakura and Kobe based on our experience as a family of five. Décor– Sakura is new and Fresh. Very light inside. The tables are nice with granite. Kobe is dark and really showing its age. Food– Kobe is the winner on taste! I was so disappointed with Sakura. The mushroom soup tasted like salt water. The ginger peanut dressing as not even close to being as good as it is at Kobe. The rice was terrible and my chicken had no flavor to it. My steak was just ok. I did not say anything until my family brought up that they preferred the food at Kobe. Service– the service at Kobe is much better! My water was not filled up at all and that is not excerptible because the food is salty. Our cook must be new because he gave us all large amounts of rice and ran out before he finished everyone at the table. He had to make more rice. So we had to wait longer for our meats. He was not terribly engaging either. Side note– Bubba at Kobe is the best! In conclusion, if you only care about décor, go with Sakura. If you want quality food, good service, and fun, experienced cooks, go to Kobe.

Sakura provides a high quality hibachi experience with great ambience and reasonable prices. My family and I went to Sakura for an early weekend lunch and were pleasantly surprised to get a hibachi table to ourselves. The server and chef were both very friendly and provided great device throughout our meal. Most hibachi places seem to nickel and dime you by up charging for some items(e.g. Fried rice or getting both soup and salad). Sakura wasn’t like that — soup, salad, rice, noodles, an appetizer, and the main course are included in the price. The soup and salad were pretty standard sizes, but the rice and the main dishes were really large. I got the hibachi salmon, which was stellar. It was cooked just right — not overdone — and it had a great teriyaki sauce on it. My wife had the filet and scallops and my daughter had the chicken teriyaki. Both were very happy with their selection. We’ll definitely be going back here again!

Just went yesterday for my anniversary and the food was phenomenal as always. We were at the hibachi grill. I had the NY Steak and my fiancé has the shrimp and scallops. Calvin was taking care of us and he was excellent. Looking forward to going back soon.

Very nice servers and chefs. I got filet minon and chicken at grill station, and I have to say it was off the hook. The soup and salad and appetizers are all included with the entrée. Good food with decent prices

Pleasantly surprised by our lunch here. We opted for the Hibachi and the filet mignon was perfect! Don’t be fooled by the exterior, the interior of the restaurant is inviting and has a great ambiance. The bar area has a good vibe, and I will definitely be meeting friends here for happy hour in the future. Food is excellent. Glad we tried this establishment as we will be back!

Great addition to the Leesburg scene. Some interesting menu options. I dropped by and just sat at the bar and had a perfect martini while ordering takeout. High quality sushi, nice people.

Not that great :(I was so happy to get a Sakura so close to my house but was very upset when I ordered and ate my food. I got the California Sushi Roll and a Shrimp Temura Sushi Roll. The california roll was very small and did not have alot of flavor to it, very mushy. The shrimp tempura roll was covered in Soy Sauce it was too salty and it fell apart when I picked it up. After spending $ 50 on dinner I sadly won’t eat here again

Took my family here for dinner. They have so many staff members but it took over 30 minutes for us to get our appetizers and drinks. They really need to make things run smoother. The hibachi food was so so… not much I can say that is positive.

My wife and I have been going to Sakura in fairfax for years, and we moved out to Leesburg to find no Sakura around… until now! We went in on a Saturday night and it was empty at first around 6:30 and then it started to fill up quickly. I had the filet and lobster and the wife had chicken. Every thing was awesome and was prepared the way we expected. We will be back!

Sakura has been my favorite Hibachi restaurant for many years. Especially this location is a great for hosting events, having a celebration or just enjoying a nice evening out with your special people. This location delivers high quality food with a great taste. In addition to great tasting food, the atmosphere really adds to experience.

Great sushi, excellent kitchen foods, and of course… the best hibachi experience as only Sakura can provide. Just opened up few weeks ago. The price range varies from lunch to dinner. For lunch, you can have a very good meal for less than $ 10. And even for dinner, they have good selections from kitchen and sushi bar at good pricesl. Even from teppanyaki table, you can enjoy your meal for under $ 20 which includes soup, salad, vegetable and Fried Rice!!!
