When I first moved to Lansdowne and discovered Roxys I thought it was great. Good chicken and decent sides, with my favorite side being the fried plantains. But 3 years later this place has totally changed. The chicken and the sides are hit or miss, they are constantly claiming they have run out of their sides or just do not have some sides at all some days. It’s laughable that they actually run out of menu items considering the extremely limited menu they offer. They also might as well remove the delivery option as they only do it when they feel like it. Seems like Roxys is more focused on trying to setup some kind of music/club scene here in Lansdowne. Which seems to be beginning to attract a certain atmosphere on the weekends, in the town center, that neither myself or quite a few other residents are thrilled about.

Had their carry out of few times, they need to deliver fresher food and not charge extra for yucca– no other Peruvian restaurant does. Only Roxys

This is a fantastic place for pollo a la brasa! The chicken is perfectly cooked, and may I recommend the yucca or the fried rice as a side dish? Both are very tasty. The ambiance is classy and intimate. The service was quick and efficient. I will definitely return!

For food I give them a 3 buuut if your ever going here on a Saturday night good luck went here with a group of friends and to say that it was the worst experience would be a understatement.. We waited 15mins for some to figure out we existed then finally the owner or manager came over took our drink order told it to some rude black guy that was a bartender but looked like he hated working and we were a burden to serve soo we waited another 10mins and he finally says with an attitude that they were out of whatever we ordered.. so pretty much 30min of our timw wasted…

Yuck. I did not like anything here. I don’t get what all the fanfare is about … I’d much rather eat at Boston market or another rotisserie chicken place then here. Sorry but this place did not cut it for me.

Honestly, I’m from NY/NJ where the Peruvian food there is crazy good. So my expectations for this wasn’t very high, and I was right. This is some poor excuse of Spanish food. Nice try guys. I’m sure it sells a lot here, but where I’m from, this place would be out of business in a month.

This place is confusing!!! I’m not sure if they are a Club or a place that sells Chicken. Over the past couple of years, we have seen it changing from your typical Peruvian Chicken restaurant to a Club or something like that. This place used to be our go to Peruvian Chicken place in Leesburg. It’s not as good as some of the Peruvian chicken I’ve had in Arlington and Falls Church, but it was pretty decent. My daughter and I went there about a month a go to pick up dinner. It was around 6:45 and we were told that they only had 1 quarter chicken left. They offered their bar menu instead. We politely said No Thank You and walked out. Won’t be going back and it’s not quite the type of place I would want to take my 10 year old daughter to.

100% This is very weak excuse of Peruvian Chicken in fact any kind of chicken it so dry and bland for peruvian chicken, yucca is almost like it bought in frozen, I believe they serve the same chicken they make for lunch for dinner also. Super over priced for the quality Chicken Rico’s in Herndon off of Eldest Street is a few dollars cheaper and super Fresh the skin on the chicken was bubbling still and they have a bunch if sides that are all delicious and they Yucca is super fresh and crispy all through, serving sizes are HUGE! Dont recommend this place at all I tried it twice just to give it a second chance but it still sucked. Im sorry step up your game.

Chicken is great. Yucca better than anyone else. Great people and delicious food. Love it!

This is definitely my go to place for Peruvian Chicken! The chicken is moist and the portions are perfect for the price. They have plenty of options for sides but I love the yucca and their side salad(the salad dressing is delicious)! After restaurant hours, on the weekends, it turns into a lounge. Great live music on Saturday nights and you can order food until it closes at 2 am! The night menu has a lot of great options. Their wings are insane and have the same seasoning as their rotisserie chicken. It’s also an added plus that they have a full bar.

Friday and Weekends they have a small band playing great music so come with your girls to have a nice time until 3 am. The Quesadillas and afried Plantains are DELISH! But the best Peruvian Chicken I been to for more than 5 years is Wishbone Chicken in Catoctin Circle Leesburg, VA! Cant beat their food! But Roxy’s is great to come eat, drink some beers and dance the stress off after a long week.

Stopped by for take-out and had a nice experience. This is located very close to my folks home in Landsdowne. Based on good Unilocal reviews, I stopped in to pick up some roast chicken. When I walked, I actually thought I was in a bar/lounge, the bar area is in the front of the restaurant. It was not open at lunch time on a Sunday. There is a walkup order counter where I placed a roasted chicken order, and they even cut it up into several pieces. The chicken also comes with a couple of sides and sauces for a few extra dollars, so why not? I selected the yucca fries and the plantains. Both were VERY good and obviously fresh fried. The chicken was tender and full of flavor. They also had a very spicy green sauce which was AH-mazing. I will definitely be back to try the other items!

Wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t good. I just moved here from Arlington and I’m used to going to just about any Peruvian chicken place and it being delicious. This place was a big disappointment. Are there any good chicken places out here?

First this place doesn’t look like your basic chicken and yucca spot. Don’t expect to walk into a place like Super Chicken or El Pollo Rico where they worry more about the food than apperance. It looks like a club really. Has a full bar(white marble it looked like) with like rope light running under it. Super weird. Next you go into the back to order. Nobody was at the register, but the bartender walked around a bit, but never told anybody I was standing up front. I was there for a couple of minutes, which seems like forever when you’re at a place that doesn’t seem to make sense. I order the ¼ chicken, yucca, and salad to go. I waited maybe 5 minutes and the food was ready. I ordered extra sauce which was $ 1 each, but it’s a big container. I got home and opened the food and found… well I found 4 pieces of yucca. 4. I was shocked. I ordered a side of yucca. And I got 4 pieces. I posted a picture of it to show just how pathetic it was. 4 f’n pieces of f’n yucca. You’ve got to be kidding me. And it might of been steak fries cause they didn’t look like regular pieces of yucca. I don’t know. I was so confused. Could of been carrots for all I know, I lost my sight after seeing 4 pieces of yucca. It ruined it for me. The chicken was ok, on the small side. Usually that’s not a big deal cause I get to fill in the empty space of my stomach with yucca, but 4 pieces of yucca couldn’t fill a small hole or something I don’t know I’m still to upset to make analogies. Won’t be going back. Unless they have a hot DJ spinning during happy hour(yeah, they got a happy hour).

As for rotisserie chicken… this place rocks. I came in for a quick lunch on a Sunday and it was banging. The chicken was so moist and all of the sides were delicious. I did find it odd that they place looks like a dance club… including a red velvet rope outside. The price isn’t bad and the portions are plentiful. Not sure how long it will stay open but it’s good food. Noticed they do poker nights… pretty cool and I’d love to check it out.

I really have no clue how this place has so many good reviews. Are that many people so clueless who have never had a good Peruvian chicken experience? I guess perhaps I’m in the minority because I care about the details. I mean, yeah, the chicken was OK, but overall this place sucks. — Chicken was flavorful but really, really dry. — The menu stated that the salad came with romaine lettuce and mixed greens — nope, iceberg with no mixed greens and some old, dried out carrot shavings. — The menu stated that you get to pick two sauces for your chicken. Instead, they give you three itsy bitsy teenie tiny containers of salad dressing, honey mustard and a spicy green sauce. — The steak fries were unremarkable. — Real identity crisis… fast food chicken joint on one side, but a fancy looking bar on the other side… and the middle is like a dance floor with some cheap tables and strobe lights. — Why does the fountain machine have more than one of the same option? Why not vary the choices more? — Why are napkins kept in a location different from the silverware, etc. Better yet, why are they not on the table? Overall, the food is OK, but all the little details and delivering something other than what is stated on the menu is unacceptable. The atmospheric schizophrenia doesn’t help. But mainly, the chicken would be better if it were juicier and came with a good sauce on it instead of you having to try to cram a piece into the one sauce that tastes good on it(green sauce) in that tiny little container. If you want a much, much better place to go to for food like this, I recommend Nando’s Peri-Peri.

So, coworkers and I have been eating at this place basically once a week for the past several months. Yuca is almost consistently good, although in very rare cases the oil was old so they didn’t taste as good. Chicken is still amazing, and on some days it tastes even more amazing(but I’m not sure if it’s just because I happen to be hungrier). Finally got to taste the Tres Leches and it was so delicious! I was kind of sad because they stopped serving pork with the beans, but I feel like it lets them focus on the one side better — I feel like the beans are consistently good when I’ve gone lately. Lastly, they’ve changed their green sauce for the better — it’s a bit more vinegary now with more flavor as well… I could eat it with anything! I’m really glad this place seems to be doing well!

This is an exciting new place to eat in Lansdowne! My sister and I love Peruvian like chicken and have tried numerous other places. Roxy’s Rotisserie Chicken was juicy, fresh, and delicious! We both ordered ¼ chicken with yucca and cole slaw. The yucca was crispy on the outside and it didn’t taste oily. This is a yummy place to grab lunch or dinner… or even a snack! :) They deliver for free(min. purchase of $ 20)!

Peruvian style chicken located in the Lansdowne plaza right off of Route 7. When you walk in, it definitely has that nice rotisserie smell in the air. Each order of chicken comes with a side of a green and a yellow sauce. The yellow is a mayo based sauce, a mild and creamy sauce to offset the green one. Green sauce is fresh with some fiery heat, but could use more dimension in flavors; It just tasted like blended jalapeño, so some more herb would have been a nice welcome touch to it. We opted for a whole chicken, which comes with a choice of two sides We opted for black beans with pork and rice. We also got an additional side of fried yucca. All additional sides are $ 3.50. The fried yucca is probably one of better fried yucca I’ve had in this area, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. If you’ve never had fried yucca before, it’s similar to have steakhouse-cut fries to an extent. They offer two types of black beans here, one with pork and one without. If you don’t have any dietary restrictions, definitely opt for the one with pork. It has chunks of super tender pork belly in it. The chicken was tender and juicy. Overall a pretty spot on meal. There is plenty of seating here, each table adorned with a vase of real bamboo. Service here is very friendly and helpful. Making this a great introductory place to Peruvian rotisserie chicken.
