King’s Tavern & Wine Bar

Let me start by saying this is NOT some fancy wine bar as the name suggests. If you come here on Wed. for wing night, it’s fantastic! The wings are delicious and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Their food is good bar food. The guys that work here are very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Do not expect a fancy place but it’s usually not crowded and they have good happy hour deals.

Great local place to get breakfast or a nice lunch on the weekend– Get a window seat or outside for great people watching. The price is right, the service is nice and friendly. The home fries are over the top — I would go back again

We were looking for dessert and stumble into this tavern. We had this crazy, unbelievably great cake made with blackberries and Orange zest topped with chocolate frosting. Might sound strange but it was wonderful. Check this place out. Live music and kind staff.

I had a perfectly fine experience here. The chicken tenders were very tasty with generous portions and the service was pleasant and prompt. I also enjoyed the rustic atmosphere and found that there was ample seating both indoors and outdoors.
I am a little confused as to their claim of being a wine bar. The bottle selection was slim to my eye and the vibes are much more in line with a pub. The beer selection was ample, though they quickly ran out of a few choicer drafts. To my palate, however, things were slightly marred by the need for their beer lines to get a good, thorough clean.
All in all, I’d recommend a visit if you’re looking for a place with a solid pub feel.

We only stopped in here to get a drink and wait for our friends to arrive before departing elsewhere for dinner. While waiting, we decided to snack on some stuffed mushrooms (roasted peppers, garlic, scallions with fine bread crumbs,
parmesan cheese and crushed walnuts). Five mushrooms came in what appeared to be some kind of red wine sauce. They didn’t look appetizing at all, but they tasted really good. The stuffing looked a lot like liver pâté, but the mixture was tasty. It could have been that we were hungry, but weren’t disappointed by them.
Service is a little slow and I don’t understand why they’re calling themselves a wine bar. I saw some wine behind the bar, but there was nothing advertised or featuring any wines. I guess if you have no other place to go, King’s might be an ok alternative. My general feeling about King’s is a meh.

This is by far the worst restaurant that I have ever been unfortunate enough to dine in. The fact that I downloaded Unilocal just to write this review says it all.
My boyfriend and I decided to dine here for lunch as I am British and this establishment portrayed itself to be a «Traditional English Pub».
No wonder Americans assume British food is bland and terrible!!! The food was on par with generic frozen food from Aldi!!!
In England we actually call a place like this a cess pool!!!
The service was by far the worst! The waitresses might as well of said «what the hell do you want and why are you here» …because that is how we were made to feel. If you want to be served by «Chavs», dine here!!! They are rude and unprofessional!
May I suggest that if the waitresses feel the need to make derogative comments about their boss, then please do so when the customers are not sat right there! Not only were we served poorly prepared food purchased from Aldi but we were subjected to foul mouthed rants which made the food even harder to swallow!
This «Traditional Cess Pool» can’t even provide carbonated drinks… hummmm because we all love flat diet pepsi!!!
I have lived in the US for over 9 years and today was the first time that I did not leave a tip!!!
Stay away from this place!
Awful food, awful décor and the worst service in America!

Weekend afternoon lunch? Don’t do it here! Food is bland. Cheap, really. The waitresses were rude. Did not want customers for some reason. Guess all the old folks were dropping big tips?
One of those places where you dont feel welcome.
Oh, and the food is pretty bad. I got 11 french fries with my COLD french dip.
Please sir, may I have more?

Excellent English and Colonial menu options. Very attentive customer service. Great selection of domestic beers.

Just got drinks, service was extremely slow & bartender wasn’t very friendly. Would give it another shot, maybe.

Not sure why there are bad reviews. They had a good choice of beers and my fish and chips were good. The patio was a great place to eat and the service was good too.

Absolutely horrendous service on Tuesday night. Imagine a group of 8 women — and basically being refused service. Asked about specials, «there are none.» Asked what was on tap, «maybe you’d like a cider.» Ummmmmm… excuse me? Asked about eating outside, said he «can not guarantee» he’ll bring the food out to us — meanwhile, all of the other employees are chain smoking out there — and then tells us that he «has a lot of other things to do here.» Besides your job, I guess? As we were leaving one person told him that we are never coming back and he said «Your choice.»
Maybe you haven’t heard, but there are quite a few bars here in downtown Leesburg and absolutely no reason for us to choose Kings or recommend them to anyone.

On the pricey side, there are definitely better places to get beer for the money. The bartenders were great though. Only weird thing was the owner came out of nowhere towards the end of the night and turned the music down. He looked annoyed that people were still there.
No real complaints, but I think I’ll give the other places nearby a shot before venturing here again.

Not a bad visit. I went the day after first Friday (a large celebration for Leesburg) and they were out of many drafts and wines.
Needless to say the baked Brie with fruits and honey was delicious. It also happened to be a gorgeous day in VA

Be prepared to wait and to pay for it!!! I’ve been here several times and every time the service dreadful even when they are not busy. It is definitely over priced for this type of establishment. This evening I stopped by to have a few drinks with friends around 830 and I had 2 draft beers (Devils Backbone Vienna Lager) and 1 Bud Light bottle because they ran out of clean glasses, my tab was just under 18 dollars

A quiet Sunday visit while doing first real ride of the year. Service friendly (I am a camel, drinking iced tea a lot… My glass was kept full), restaurant clean, food fresh and flavorful. I had fish and chips, daughter ham and Brie sandwich.
Fish and chips were crunchy and hot, and Brady the younger finished her sandwich in short order (a miracle in itself).
I’ll definitely return to this place.

Slow service. Dirty cups. Flat soda (pouted warm from the bottle into a cup and then served). Average food. Don’t bother.

We stopped at King’s last night during the First Friday celebration, intending to enjoy live music, sip a beer or two, and relax after walking around for hours.
We stood at the outdoor bar for close to 5 minutes, waiting for someone to acknowledge our presence. As the servers and bartender chatted, laughed, and joked around, we finally interrupted and asked if we were supposed to go order somewhere else. One of the servers flippantly told us «we have, like, 7000 things going on! Hang on!»
We were finally able to get two beers (and had to ask three times for a cup of water) and then sat ourselves. Our glasses were cleared, but we were never offered another drink, nor could we get the attention of any of the servers or the bartender we flagged down.
I have never experienced service this abysmal, and will absolutely never return. Reading these other reviews, I’m glad now that we decided against trying to get food.

Stopped by to get some AC action on a hot day. We were next door at the bakery (same owner). Wines were pretty overpriced and server couldn’t tell me anything about them. Summer shandy was nice. Strange and deserted looking joint, but might have been on account that we went on a holiday.

I agree with the other post, food not so good for $ 10 for a sandwich, but the beer and music were good!

Service with a frown, we seated ourselves, Reuben was small and soggy with 4 onion rings for $ 10 and Fish and Chips were soggy with soggy fries. A smile from the waitress would have gone a long ways but couln’t get that either.
