I hate giving one star to places where the wait staff is so friendly… but there was just nothing good about this place. We stopped by this place on a Sunday morning in hopes to find a brunch spot downtown. However, this was the only one that was open and didn’t have a long wait.(Well, it makes sense now why there wasn’t a wait) We stood there for a good 10 minutes at the front door with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Finally, sat down and waited another awhile to get greeted and to order. Although, our waitress was nice the entire time, the service was not good. We waited so long for everything, making it such a tiring brunch! I think they were also understaffed? *Lox Benedict — my food came out lukewarm. This was upsetting because I waited awhile for my food. Eggs should come out nice and hot… Not something that has been sitting there for awhile. *Sausage gravy — just a sad sad meal. Also came out lukewarm and nothing appetizing at all.

Just stopped in for dessert and coffee. The pecan pie and chocolate cake tasted like store-bought and the coffee was bitter and astringent.

This little place is all of what is good in America. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. The angry woman who once worked here has gone on to find her smile and all of the waitstaff are pleasant and friendly. I recommend the smoked salmon breakfast, but as I sit here, I’m very much enjoying the farmers omelet. King street is going through a facelift and sidewalk widening, but parking in in abundance behind the café and in the garage. WOW! This omelet is GREAT!

Do not eat here. This place is almost always empty, and for very good reason. There are so many good restaurants in Leesburg, there is no reason to waste your time and money here.

Just had a good breakfast in Leesburg. Ham and cheese omelette with hash browns rye toast and coffee. Omelette was very good. Has Browns were good but too much paprika(I think). Very good service. Three ideas for management: 1. Cut back on the paprika in the HB 2. Improve the wifi so the refresh rate isn’t glacial 3. Use ham that is fresh cut from the bone rather than sliced deli meat. I will definitely come back.

First time visiting. We were in the mood for pancakes. Both orders came out ice cold and undercooked. At the same time, the couple next to us sent back their orders of eggs Benedict. Won’t return.

Good place! Simple good food reasonable prices! Friendly staff and a few specialty treats. After a week of overpriced arugula for breakfast this place is a great find!

The sign in the front window is incredibly misleading, because it is definitely not a bakery nor is it a coffee shop. My friend & I walked in and it didn’t take us too long to realize that our search for a nice coffee drink and pastries would end in disappointment. We stuck around only because we were in the mood for some kind of dessert. The only thing that we had there was the hot brownie sundae(which is NOT on the menu, but was recommended by a staff member), and that was quite satisfying. We got to look at the menu, and quite honestly, nothing there really sounds appealing. However, the staff was extremely friendly and the service was good. I don’t think I’ll go back though.

Fantastic diner on Rte 15/Main Street. Only place open 8 o’clock on Sunday when I biked up from White’s Ferry and headed back to DC on a 75 mile loop. Dying for a great breakfast after previous day of hard biking and trail munchies only. I found it here with Eggs Chesapeaque — a take on Eggs Benadict with crabmeat — yum — and perfect home fries. Bottomless coffee and for added hydrating some orange juice. Quality and service excellent, view from window table of small town waking up great. Price well worth it.

Just left after waiting 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me or bring me a menu. The only thing I experienced was watching someone send back their undercooked eggs. Diner beware.

One word describes this cute little diner: blah. The only positive was that the service was good. Should’ve taken it as a sign, though, when we walked in and there was maybe 3 occupied tables. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was bland. I love a runny yolk as much as the next person but this egg hardly stayed somewhat together. Felt like the egg was a dipping sauce for my English muffin and ham. The side of potato fries were more like a potato hash(which I didn’t mind). My friend had the French toast they came out cold and soggy. She couldn’t taste much of the cinnamon sugar. She did like the crispness of the bacon though. Another friend had the breakfast burrito and found it to be «blah.» I wouldn’t choose to come back here.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience of all time, certainly in the top five. We went first to Leesburg Diner at the height of the lunch rush. There was a line, so we walked down the street to the Georgetown Café and bakery. Plenty of seating there – should have realized that meant something. We walk in the door and stand there. There is no acknowledgement from anyone. So, we make eye contact with a girl who seems to be the hostess, as she’s standing at the top of the stairs and surveying the restaurant. We ask«is it self-seating»? She ignores us. We figure she just didn’t hear us, so we ask again. She responds by nodding her head and looking away. We hang out at our table for while and finally a hipster girl in a woolen hat comes over. She looks at me, drops the menus on the table, and walks away. No smile, no «hi my name is so and so» just a bored look and rude treatment. Wow – we’re starting to wonder if the staff here just hates people. Then the drink orders start. Our server(same girl) takes drink orders from all but my daughter, and then just walks away. While I try to comfort my daughter, who has started to cry, my wife goes to tell the server she forgot our daughter. No «I’m sorry about that” – just«well, what does she want»? We should have left then – if we had, I’d have an hour of my life back that I’ve lost forever. We ordered our food and we wait. And wait. And wait. People who came in all after us are being fed. I have three hungry children who can’t understand why others are being fed, but we are not. My wife and I pass the time by speculating on whether our waitress is drunk, hung over or on drugs. Finally, 45 minutes later, we are rewarded with omelets that are, at best, mediocre. One wonders how a place like this stays open. There didn’t seem to be any management of any kind around, so it seems to me that the staff was taking advantage of that. Perhaps they believe their main street location insulates them from the basics of restaurant management(and common courtesy). However, in the age of social media in general, and Unilocal in particular, they would do well to get past their attitudes of entitlement and start treating people well.

I got the smoked salmon and chive omelet which was delicious. My husband got toast and home fries. He liked the home fries, but the toast was cold. It wasn’t very nice inside, and I’m not sure if I’d go back, but at least the omlet was good.

Mediocre food that is over-priced, young lady at the counter was very courteous and all smiles, other than that it’s a below-average experience. If everything was closed in town and they are the only option, I would go again.

Seated immediately, had the Bloody Mary(spicy, chunky and great) and my wife had a mimosa, also tasty. Her Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly and my Smoked Salmon omelet blew me away. Well done, guys.

How I heard of this place: My in-laws came to visit us for a long weekend, and we decided to take a trip to their old stomping grounds. A brisk walk through the bitter cold led us to Georgetown Café & Bakery. Type of cuisine: This quaint, warm spot in the center of historic Leesburg seems to serve a little bit of everything — from fresh, daily, house-cooked bread, to brunch, lunch and dessert options, we were sad to have only arrived for a round of hot chocolates. From a Unilocal review: «Baked goods: All good, this is what really makes SSU. They are a bakery and everything is made fresh in-house. The ciabatta is wonderful, as are the fresh, buttery croissants and multigrain bread. The molasses cookies(all the cookies really) are fantastic as are the cupcakes. This place is very unhealthy for carb-avoidance. Breakfast: Small menu for breakfast consists of scrambled eggs cooked in a mold so they fit in sandwiches with cheese and bacon, sausage or ham on your choice of bread. I’ve tried all the bread types, all make a killer breakfast sandwich. If you want to really kick up your cholesterol go for a slice of the cinnamon toast w/butter. It’s a cinnamon/raisin rolled bread, sliced thick, toasted and slathered in butter. Oh my. They also have bagels and lox. Lunch: The soups and sandwiches are all good. Potato leek is a staple, other soups/stews rotate seasonally, gazpacho is always an option in summer. Some sandwiches are better than others but I haven’t had a bad one. The daily specials are a good bet and I love the rare roast beef with lemon-basil mayo and the turkey with shallot mayo. The BBBLT(BLT, heavy on the B) is great for bacon lovers. Egg salad is good, but I always have to add some salt. If you’re going low-carb your option is a bowl of romaine lettuce with scoop of tuna/chicken/egg salad, which they still throw slices of that damn-tempting ciabatta onto! It’s actually a pretty satisfying lunch though, if you can resist the bread. Dinner: They close at 6, so you’d best be early. However, their take-and-heat meals in the cold case at front are great if you want something besides the standard take-out options. Usually one choice per day. Other stuff: They have ice cream! Also a pretty decent coffee-bar. Take and bake scones in the cold case as well as interesting bottled soda and juice selection. I like that they have organic milk singles for the kiddo. Daily special iced tea is good(usually peach, mango or raspberry), fresh brewed. You can special-order cakes(including wedding cakes), got my daughter’s birthday cupcakes here, they were yummy.» Ambiance: A little café nestled under Tuscarora Mill restaurant off of Harrison St., the«oddly shaped indoor space… is not very friendly to the popularity of the restaurant. It’s not a huge deal in nice weather when most people choose to sit outside on the lovely patio but if you come on a cold/rainy day when the same number of people are suddenly all trying to sit inside… well, you can see it can become less than ideal. A couple of times I have seen people walk in and be very confused about the ordering line being right in front of the door, especially when it’s crowded. Order & pay at the counter, take your number and find a seat, they bring it to you except for soups & coffees that they get for you right then.» What I ordered: Four tall, glass mugs of just-add-water hot cocoa($ 4 each). What I loved: The ambiance, complete with its dim lighting, wooden furniture and hardwood floors, a street-front, windowed view and the peacefulness of a public library. Why I loved it: Quick, efficient service, no frills and a staff curious to engage in conversation. Cost: High($ 4 per 8-ounce cup of hot cocoa made with a powder and hot water)

Ugh… don’t go here. Hubby and I are trying all the restaurants in downtown Leesburg. Today, we tried the Wine Kitchen but there was a wait. So, we ventured here, our mistake. Service was ok, but took forever for the«Ruben sandwich» lunch meat, jarred sauerkraut and cheese on «grilled» pumpernickel. Having been so hungry I ate it… the highlight was the over battered onion rings. Hubby had something that was supposed to be a type of Philly that tasted like bad sloppy joe mix, ladled on a greasy croissant. Like my dear departed father in law used to say…“been there twice, first and last.”

Walking in the door our party of three was greeted with a «Hello, we’ll have a seat for you shortly» but we had to stand around for a few minutes. Three employees working in an 11 table-top establishment and where very slow. They didn’t seem too concerned about this as they all continued to to serve other parties that were seated instead. There were approximately three tables sitting un-cleared. When we finally got our drink order there where two distinct lipstick smears on the rim of my glass.(I was not wearing lipstick.) It took over 5 minutes to get a new glass. Took a while for our server to get back to us to take our food order. A salmon & chive omelet, bacon cheeseburger and a breakfast burrito. We were waiting well over 30 minutes before we even inquired where our food was. The response was an irritated explanation that the kitchen was serving for three different restaurants. When the food did arrive, 5 minutes after that, it was barely warm. The omelet was completely missing chives and the onion rings were so over battered they were hardly edible. The burger was at least cooked to the requested internal temp but as it was almost cold when it arrived it was difficult to enjoy. Had the wait time not be so long we might have sent the food back but we honestly just wanted to leave at that point. During the time we dinned one party came in and then promptly left. I’m certain they overheard our remarks about the food being cold. Another lady came in, sat and was ignored for probably a good 10 minutes. I would not eat here again unless they did a complete overhaul. If you are going to serve three locations out of one kitchen you need to be staffed for it. You should also make sure your servers, which I strongly believe are the face of your establishment, actually promote a good customer experience. The experience we had left was far from hitting the mark.
