I called Tridosha on November 4, 2014, to cancel my automatic monthly facial payments. I spoke with Shannon, the owner. My debit card had already been charged for the following month’s(December) facial, in the amount of $ 65.00. Shannon assured me I would receive a refund. The following week I had my last facial appointment, on November 11, which I had paid for in October. I informed Shannon I had not yet received a refund. Shannon once again assured me that I would receive a refund and asked me to be patient, citing efficiency issues with her payment processor. Today is December 9, 2014, more than a month after she supposedly processed my refund, and I have not received it as promised. I left Shannon another message this morning, but have not received a response. I do not believe she ever processed my refund, and my only recourse is to file a complaint with the BBB. Edit: I received a call back from Shannon, and this time she reversed the transaction from November. She emailed me confirmation of the reversal. I fully expect to receive the refund now. Because this issue has(hopefully) been resolved and because the actual facial services I received were always quite good and because Shannon has always been polite when I’ve spoken with her, I am changing my rating to 3 stars overall.

If I could give no stars after my experience today at this salon, I truly would. I had scheduled my appointment at this salon two months ago because they couldn’t accommodate me. I go to the salon ten minutes late and the owner said that she couldn’t give me a facial. I apologized for being late, letting her know that if it wasn’t for the Lee Summit fall festival I wouldn’t have been late. With the festival, they had blocked off all the roads and I had to walk a good 10 to 15 minutes to reach her salon. She was not at all accommodating and said that since I was ten minutes late and had not called, she couldn’t accommodate me. I was aghast since I had driven 35 minutes to get there. I have never been talked to this way. I have been to other Aveda salons and have never been talked to this way. When I said just give me a 50 minute facial, she said no it really would be more like a 30 minute facial since you would have to change and check out and that would take away from your time. I was like really??? I have never heard that the 60 minute facial included 20 minutes to change and check out. Disgusting! Don’t even think this should be called an Aveda concept salon. I would never ever visit this place again, forget recommending this to anyone. Please don’t waste your money and time on this salon!

Great facial massage. One of the best I have had. very nice salon, relaxing great atmosphere. However, apparently to add a tip they charge you $ 5.00 if you have a groupon(I’m sure to cover the credit cards fees) Which they acted like I «should have known tips were only cash» Groupons are only for new customers. which I was… but when I was leaving some comment was made the«apparently I had been there before» Not true… so service and atmosphere was great but after taking weeks to get anyone to call me back was treated like I was trying to cheat them with my groupon. Didn’t leave with a good feeling.

Wow! I hate getting my hair cut. I avoid it at all cost. I’d rather get on oil change than go to a salon. But not this one! It was awesome! This place is a cute little house in the historic district of Lee Summit. Once you walk in there’s a very calm Zen like feeling. They offered to take my coat and something to drink. I was very impressed they offer herbal teas. Immediately I was taken to the stylist chair. I don’t know a lot about hair and I wanted something a little different but not crazy. She listened to my ideas and gave me suggestions. Most stylists want to do the most treatment they can to your hair. I was really happy when she suggested a natural highlight. She did micro fine highlights all over the top of my hair. It looks so cool in the light. I love that anyway I wear my hair the highlights can be seen from all angles. She also cut side swoop bangs with a razor. They are so cute! Overall I had a great experience. They did not try to sell me a bunch of product. They also didn’t say things like, «OMG, you hair is so damaged.» They made me feel really pretty and pampered while keeping it real. She spent just over an hour and half with me. Not only was it the best hair cut and color I’ve ever had, it was blast talking with the ladies. If you want a relaxed, down-to-earth salon, with stylist who have kick-ass skills then Tridoasha is your place!

I started going to this salon, located in the heart of historic downtown Lee’s Summit, when they were still called Green Beauty. The new name, Tridosha, refers to the Ayurvedic concept of the three bodily humors, balance, and physical harmony(yes, I had to look it up). As when they were Green Beauty, they still maintain the whole-wellness, semi-spiritual approach to beauty and self-care, and are still an Aveda concept salon. It works. I mean, it’s not like you go in and do yoga while you get your hair cut or anything, but they do focus on a salon experience being a restorative, calming, relaxing experience, which is fine by me. They moved in the past year from one storefront to another in LS’s adorably walkable downtown, and have slowly gotten the high-ceilinged, airy space organized in the way they want it. It’s still a work in progress… each time I go in, things are a little different, but its nothing that compromises the service at all. The service is friendly, the gals at the front desk are always sweet and accommodating, and have always been great about my penchant for deciding on the spur of the moment that I need a haircut that day, and worked me in when possible. They use the requisite yummy-smelling Aveda products, and you get the complimentary scalp and hand massages as part of the experience. They usually have herbal iced teas to drink gratis while you wait. I’ve always gotten a quality cut and style, here, and stylist Brittany is awesome at color, as well. Tiffany did my hair when I dropped in, and she was great, as well. I haven’t done their spa services, but their prices seem really reasonable, so maybe someday. All-around, a really nice salon.

I went into Tridosha being completely frustrated with my hair. I tried a new stylist, Lauryn, and was amazed! I have fine, straight hair — which leaves me with limited hairstyle options. I told Lauryn to do what she thought looked best and came out with a haircut that has bounce, volume and put a smile on my face!

Maybe it doesn’t make sense to update a review when it still gets five stars. Frankly I don’t give a damn. About 8 years ago, I had a nightmarish haircutting experience, you know, the tear inducing variety. To top it off, I have lusciously curly locks. Therefore, finding an excellent salon is nearly impossible. So when it comes to hair cutting time, I am in full on panic mode. Enter Tridosha, formerly Green Beauty. This salon kicks ass. If you have curly hair, Brittany is a must see, as she is a friggin’ pro with the curly-headed folk. And if you have non-curly hair, see anyone else there. I’ve never been let down by the team. Cherry on the sundae? They use Aveda products, which are 99% natural and cruelty free. Yay, animals!
