We were on a road trip and stopped in Lee for lunch. I’m so glad the sandwich shop near the highway only took cash — we were forced to look for something else. When I looked on Unilocal I found this a minute or two away — wow! What a difference a mile makes! In the heart of the quaint downtown area, the Morgan House Inn sat waiting for us. We went into the empty place and were immediately told to take any seat we wanted. We sat at the front so we could see the activity of the main street. After a couple of questions about the menu we were thrilled to know everything was made in house. Clam chowder had my husband smiling. The burger and fries we shared were the best I’ve ever had. I don’t know how in the world a burger can be so hot — never had anything like it in my life. The bun was even hot — it wasn’t a plate trick, the plate was room temperature. The fries were fresh cut. Everything was perfect. Our server was very nice to me — giving me tips on local shopping when my husband had to do some business. I would move in if I could! Do not miss this place! You will be so happy you ate at Morgan House.

While it’s not hard to find good food in the Berkshires, attentive and friendly service is a rarity. My mother and son went there for dinner last night and we were so pleased with every single person that worked there. They were so on top of things and were so very kind and pleasant. We felt like family. The meals were delicious comfort food. Can’t wait to go back again!

Great place, great food. The bartender(Eduardo) is the man. They’re opening the deck soon, which will be awesome for summer.

This restaurant is located on the ground level of a cute, old-fashioned bed & breakfast. With that being said, it’s a pretty classic, American eatery with standard American/continental fare. Came here with my mother and brother a few months ago during our trip up to The Berkshires. Prices are a bit on the high end, but the portions are also quite large. To start, we got an order of their eggplant fries, which were good. For my main, I got their pesto and linguine dish, which was pretty filling. Unfortunately, it was swimming in olive oil. Service was friendly, though, and the restaurant itself is quite lovely, if you’re into old colonial American aesthetic. I believe that they also had a pretty big drink menu, so there is that as well.

Visited MH on a skiing trip. Stayed at Fox Hollow for the week and came here for dinner the first and last night we stayed. The delicious food and homestyle atmosphere brought us back for a second time. I got pot roast and my girlfriend got the fried chicken platter that was on the specials menu Saturday night. The wait staff was attentive and they had a couple local craft beers to try out which were also pretty good. I will def go to MH the next time I come through this area.

This restaurant is a must try. I had the fried calamari my husband had the New England clam chowder both equally delicious. The eggplant fries is also a must try. I never had something so good. Hats off to the chef on this unique appetizer. For the main course my husband devoured his turkey dinner as I did the pot roast. We definitely will be repeat customers.

I wanted to give them a positive review because they are a small local business. The waitress was rushed. Came to the table took my partners drink order and almost left without getting mine. he called her back! She was not open to questions when ordering. Meals: I ordered a steak with veggies. Green beans and carrots… over cooked, soggy with 2 carrots the size of my pinky(total of the 2), no seasoning on them. The steak was ok… over priced for the amount and quality of the meat. My partner ordered a burger medium rare. It came rare… uncooked! By the time we flagged the waitress down he was half way through his fries. Glad he ordered wings as well… The burger came back. YES, the burger with two bites out of if came back over cooked. The same burger!, bun and all, covered with grease, inedible. Very poor decision by the cook. The wait staff’s inability to offer good service could have been over looked if the back of the house had done their job and sent out a new burger and fries. the entire plate should have been replaced. They took it off the bill. No manager or owner came by to correct the mistake. I am hard on restaurants because I have owned and operated in the food industry.

We had ham and brie sandwich and classic turkey sandwich and both were delicious. The porch was a quaint place to sit for lunch. I have one small complaint about the pickles-they tasted just salty without vinegar. The service was friendly as well.

Are a late lunch here. Very cozy atmosphere. Beef chili was awesome: good use of spices leads to a ton of flavor. The portion was enough for a full meal. Onion soup was equally good. Mediterranean Salad with an excellent crab cake and chopped salad were both nice presentation and well prepared. Not enough room for dessert but table was swooning over desserts.

I don’t know what happened to this place. We came for dinner, seated right away. Server was nice but not friendly. Cosmo was good. Good start so far… Got side fries to share as starter super nice. Then Nachos my son got — cheese all burned, no sour cream, no salsa or lettuce or cheese. Little cheese was burned and rotten he didn’t eat, he is no way fussy. Asked for these things didn’t get. Friend got grilled chicken BLT bacon burned crisp, didn’t eat. I got mussels as meal bread burned and mussels freezing cold. Asked for manager told him, he said would remake. Brought them back after one minute same ones just put in microwave for one minute and still cold. Also friends sandwich, same sandwich came back just they had broke off some burned bacon. Will post photos of it but remember freezing mussels. Told them no thanks to more food, didn’t charge for uneaten food, left hungry after hour wasted waiting. Manager didn’t come back ever yo check … Paid $ 30 and hour wasted left hungry… NEVER coming back.

The Morgan house is our go to place when in the Lee area. We love the atmosphere and the food. I recommended the chicken sandwich.

Garlic bread is a chewy dry crust. Nachos come with several almost-black chips. A «medium well» filet mignon is red in center. Staff medium friendly: waitress spilled a garlic bread piece into mussels and claimed it came with it. My MIL, seafood aficionado, didn’t like the mussels. Fine dining prices, however.

I was in Pittsfield visiting my sister and had been driving all around creation and back running errands. Stopped in because we were hungry and it was the first thing we saw that wasn’t a fast food joint… we were very pleasantly surprised. She has a burger that looked absolutely fantastic and polished if off(which she almost never does) because it was so delicious. I had the chicken mac and cheese and it was amazing. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the food was. It was midday and we had more errands to run so we didn’t indulge in drinks from the bar, we just had tea instead. Our waitress wasn’t overly talkative or friendly but she was polite and attentive. The service was spot on and overall it was a wonderful lunch. Way better than what we expected and not expensive. I’ll definitely be eating there again next time I’m back in town!

The service was well below par, the table we sat at was very crooked. Our server was the only person on duty. This was a Monday afternoon, so can’t imagine how it’d be on a busy day? As for the food, there’s not much in this town, so doubt be fooled by the high star ratings. Both sandwich and salad were fair, but the poor customer service really sticks out in my mind with this particular visit so it’s hard to get past that.

This is a historic inn from the 1850s and boasts a previous guest list that included Ulysses S. Grant, George Bernard Shaw, & President Cleveland. However, it appears that its hayday has long ago come and gone. The entry is a bit misleading as its more reflective of a true country inn style. yet, the lounge’s interior style/color scheme is reminiscent of the 1980s — not the 1880s. It’s a bit worn for wear. The bar is small. The seating not very comfortable. Dowdy. The bartender was congenial. The bloody Marys were average. We shared: ARUGULAANDROASTEDMUSHROOMSALAD(gf) aged drunken goat cheese, toasted sunflower seeds, tossed in lemon vinaigrette. The goat cheese was very dry & we could not detect its«drunkeness» & the mushrooms were soggy. The butternut squash soup of the day was creamy w a nice earthy flavor. The biggest disappointment was the GRILLEDVEGETARIANSAGEPOLENTA(gf) mushroom ragout, parmesan cheese, sun dried tomato purée– the«polenta» cake was not the texture of the Italian polenta that I was raised on which is quite fine in grade. This was more like a cornmeal cake w a grittiness to it, the mushroom ragu was inedible and the sundried tomato purée was too tart. A fairly disappointing afternoon lunch.

Found this place on Unilocal as we drove up to Lenox to meet my family for a weekend, and it was a lovely dining experience. The best thing about this place was out server, Ian. He was very professional, but also very personable, like he genuinely cared whether we enjoyed our evening or not. And I truly believe he did. He was also knowledgeable, gracious, and funny. Perhaps the most memorable server I’ve ever had. In short, I love him. I also enjoyed very much the hot wings I ordered as my dinner. They were everything hot wings should be at $ 12 for a plate of 10. And with a generous side of fresh celery, too, not the usual been-sitting-in-a-bad-for-a-week celery you get at a lot of places. WIth my wings I had a nice $ 13 fennel salad that had fresh slices of orange, a nice goat cheese, and(according to the menu) «fennel pollen.» The bright orange and fennel was a great accompaniment to the rich, wings, the goat cheese was a nice partner to the wings’ spicines. My husband had the roasted turkey dinner($ 19) with smashed potatoes, so highly recommended on Unilocal’s reviews. It was pretty good — and the portions were huge! But I should note, however, that he only ordered this because they had run out of his original first two choices.) But back to Ian, our obliging server. After we left the restaurant, our bellies full, we walked down the street towards our car. Just as we were about to cross, we here a man yelling, «Stop! Don’t cross the street! Stop! Your food!» And wasn’t it our dear Ian, hobbling down the street at a very quick pace, chasing us with our box of leftover turkey! No, as a former waitress, I can tell you that by 9:30, your feet are sore and hobble is al you can do. And I did that when I was young. Ians feet were surely sore, his day had been surely long, and his remaining cleanu-up and side work were surely plentiful… but he took the time and effort to make sure we would have no regrets of our evening at The Morgan House. And we didn’t, Ian. No regrets at all.

I am awarding two stars instead of one because the ambience of Morgan House seemed nice, and the dishes that were whizzing by our noses sure looked lovely… Woulda been nice to actually EAT some of that food, but after two unsuccessful attempts, it was plainly clear that the Morgan House was not interested in our business… We showed up for lunch on the day after Christmas, which is a federal holiday this year. I’d call that a plainly forseeable reason for an increase in business. Long story short: They were understaffed and completely unprepared for this… Despite 2⁄3 of the restaurant being empty, we were told we would«have to wait 5 – 10 minutes to be seated, because the kitchen was backed up.» They couldn’t just SEAT us? They had to relegate us to the BAR? Please… totally unacceptable service. After waiting more than 10 minutes to be shown a chair, god forbid, the waitress comes over, and tells us that two of the lunch menu items were not being offered, one of which was a dish we were planning on ordering… We’d had it. We left, and went to Salmon Run down the street(great choice, btw). Despite this egregious episode of incredulous events, we actually decided to go back on Tuesday for dinner to give them a second chance. They were CLOSED! Unreal. Now i know a lot of restaurants are closed on Tuesdays, but in a ski town during the week between X-mas and New Year’s? That’s just plain stupid… We won’t be back a third time. Good luck with the rest of your customers.
