This was my first time trying Starving Artist, and I was not disappointed! The service was very timely, especially considering that I went during the lunch rush. I had the Buffalo Chicken crêpe and a vanilla latte with almond milk. Everything was very tasty, very fresh, and all around satisfying! 10⁄10 would go again!

We have been frequenting Starving Artist ever since we moved into the area last fall. My husband and I often drive around for work and like to stop in for our mid-morning coffee breaks, sometimes bringing along our fellow coworkers. There’s no shortage of decent cups of coffee en route from our hometown of Pittsfield(the local gourmet market or the chocolate shop to discreetly name a couple.) So, one thing that keeps us opting for the yummy coffee and baked goods at Starving Artist(despite their sometimes less-than-friendly service) is the simple differentiating factor that Starving Artist offers a coffee club incentive card for both their brewed and specialty coffees. But much to our disappointment, since we have been coming, there has been restriction upon restriction applied to the coffee rewards program. Recently we were informed that you no longer can mix card punches for regular coffee and for specialty drinks. So, now I get to carry around TWO cards for this establishment. Then we were told that now you can only qualify for one punch per visit no matter how many drinks you purchase(which can be costly when you are treating your coworkers.) I have never seen an approach like this anywhere else. So ultimately, the coffee club incentive program at the Starving Artist has become incentive for us to decide to bring our coffee break business to other establishments who’s appreciation for their regular patrons outweighs their need to save a buck. That being said, when we have a hankering for a delicious crêpe, Starving Artist is the place to go. Their food never disappoints!

Friendly staff, delicious coffee and crepes, and local art? What more could you want? They have a nice variety of crepes or you can choose your own fillings as well. Their staff is extremely helpful and gives great recommendations if you can’t decide what to get. The coffee is delicious and they do a great job with their latte art. I enjoy coming to this place and sitting inside. It’s bright and comfortable with beautiful art always on display.

Don’t leave the Berkshires without going to the Starving! It’s a favorite place for us locals! If you’re visiting in summer it can be a wait but it’s worth it!

I wanted to like this place, but was a little disappointed. We got the«crepedilla,» a bowl of french onion soup, the chicken parmesan crêpe and a mocha latte. It was $ 40 for two people, which seemed like a lot for a casual brunch. The crepedilla was what it sounds like — a quesadilla with black beans, tomatoes, cheese, etc. It was decent. I was excited that they had vegetarian french onion soup. It was pretty good, but it seemed like it had been sitting with the bread and cheese topping on it for a while, rather than it having been put on before being served. The chicken parmesan was not good — the pesto did not go well with the rest of the dish and the chicken seemed to be low-quality. It was also lukewarm. My partner didn’t finish it and left the restaurant hungry. Her latte was good, but the mug was only filled halfway. The ambiance was fun, but the music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation.

The Starving Artist is a gem. I came to Lee to meet up with someone, both of us had never been to the town so obviously I turned to Unilocal! After reading reviews and thinking about my love for crepes we de used to try it out. First off the space is so unique it’s an art gallery/café that is open light and spacious. It gives of a relaxed chill vibe. Another plus was that because it was Sunday they had live music happening. It definitely a very casual place you go up to the counter to place your order and take a number and sit down. They then bring the order to the table as well as clearing the plates at the end. I had a hard time deciding as they had many many different options as well as non crêpe options, but I came for the crêpe so I was getting a crêpe. Since it was close to breakfast I settled on an egg Brie and local sausage crêpe. The wait time was very short which was appreciated. It was delicious the melted Brie was to die for especially with the egg. YUM. The local sausage was also very good but was not a typical breakfast sausage if that’s what your looking for. The actual crêpe itself was not the best one I have ever had but I’m a harsh judge. Overall the meal was delicious and I would recommend a breakfast crêpe.

Fun atmosphere… I like the general favor of the place. The food was good. Nothing to write home about. Portions were small, ingredients don’t warrant the price. I am super picky about my coffee. I want 24 – 28 second pour off the machine, don’t let my shots sit for longer than 30 seconds before adding the creamy milk that’s not warmer than 145 degrees. Burnt milk and butter shots just don’t cut it.

This place is very appropriately named. After our late breakfast, which costs ~$ 45 for two people, we were both still starving. Food: Being that we’re crêpe fans we were pretty excited to find a place near the Lee outlets that was held in such high regard on the crêpe front. We decided next time we ventured out there we would go a little earlier than usual to check out their breakfast crepes and assorted offerings. Their special crepes of the day sounded more interesting so we went with those instead even though they weren’t breakfasty(I’m submitting this word to Webster’s dictionary). We started with their currant scone with maple frosting, easily the best thing we had. Very flaky and fresh tasting; the maple glaze wasn’t overly sweet or artificial tasting. Our 1st crêpe was their chicken parmesan crêpe with a homemade pesto. All the ingredients on this crêpe were of high quality and married well with each other. My only complaint with the crêpe was aside from it being wrapped in a crêpe you would never know it by the taste. If blind folded I would be able to distinguish most of the individual ingredients, but the crêpe would not be one of them. The 2nd crêpe we went with was their Apple cranberry crisp crêpe with local egg nog ice cream… I know it sounds amazing… it wasn’t. The granola was a little heavy handed masking the delicate flavor of the crêpe and the ice cream was a little freezer burnt(pretty crystallized). After the 1st crêpe I knew I would still be hungry so I asked what soups they had and for their recommendation. They said their red pepper bisque was their favorite so I went with that. Not a bad flavor, pretty small portion size, and tepid at best. I’m assuming they had just refilled that soup from a cold container, because you could see where the cream and butter had separated(pretty damn bush league). Wait staff/Ambiance: Everyone was pretty friendly and quick to answer our questions. Although I do get curious when everything you say that you are ordering is «their favorite». Pretty cozy inside with ample seating and art on the walls that you can purchase if you feel so inclined. Bottom Line: My biggest beef with this place is their serving size, I don’t expect to have another meal to take with me, but I also shouldn’t leave feeling damn near just as famished as when I arrived. While I appreciate all of the fun and crazy toppings that you mix with the crepes, you need to still respect the delicacy of the crêpe to ensure it doesn’t get lost. If trying this place I would try their other offerings(sandwiches, more traditional breakfast fare). A couple of girls at the next table over had some pretty awesome looking sandwiches and other dishes that we probably would have been happier with. I personally won’t be returning I didn’t feel the high prices were justified with taste or portion size.

This is an ‘all things crêpe’ place — placed in an open eating area with local art displayed. Order up front and eat at your table. Tried the Jalapeño crêpe(not too spicy), Twisted bacon(how could anything with that name not be delicious), Beets and summer squash and Kale salad. Everyone liked their dishes — food was fresh and tasty — prices were appropriate.

We are New Yorkers who come up on the weekends, and this is one of our regular spots. We love the food, Live music and art. We were there one morning when the farmer dropped off the eggs. The food is fresh, and one possible local. Staff is always been friendly, and efficient. You have to try the crêpe specials. Live art and music has always been great! PS: I brought my grandma here and she never got over all of the tattoos on the staff !

We are on Vacation visiting the Boston and Stockbridge areas and ran across this place. It is so amazingly good we had to come back again before we head back to San Diego. Their Pumpkin Spice Lattes are made with real Pumpkin and Maple Syrup and fresh ground Spices. What a difference it makes. Their Crepes are to die for as well. Tasty Times.

My crêpe was da bomb! I have had a lot of crepes in multiple cities and this was by far one of the best. I had the goat cheese, caramelized onion, mushroom and butternut squash. The combination was delicious! I also had an iced coffee and my husband got the vegetarian Canadian bacon BLT sandwich. I also love the fact that there is an art gallery attached and friendly staff. Next time I’m in town I will make it a priority to grab a bite.

I ordered up the crunchy breakfast this morning. It is a delicate crêpe stuffed with strawberries bananas and topped with sour cream granola and raisins. They finish it off with just a touch of real maple syrup. It was pure heaven beside one of the better lattes I’ve had in a while. Can’t recommend this place too much!

Cute café! The wonderfully artsy atmosphere combined with delicious coffee made for a great dining experience. The crepes were good but nothing special. I would highly recommend their granola and fruit bowl. Delicious! Overall, I would definitely come here again!

Delicious! We have crepes with organic berries. Place was packed with a line but it was served fast and hot. Lots of art on the walls and live music on Sunday’s. Bottom line — go here get the crepes.
