Problem 1: The sushi here is NOT authentic at all. Problem 2: The number 1 rule for sushi is freshness of the fish. It was not here. Problem 3: Sushi and everything else on menu is overpriced. Problem 4: Dishes not clean. They try to pass off as a full-scale Japanese sushi restaurant, but they’re really a cheap Chinese joint that charges premium prices for their sushi AND their Chinese food. Above all, the Chinese guy«sushi chef» is not professionally trained at all. But they charge ridiculous prices. If you want real sushi experience must go into KC.

Ordered a spicy salmon roll and a dynamite roll. Both of the rolls were the exact same except the dynamite roll had a spicy sauce over it. Both rolls had some pink stuff in it, no cucumber, no avocado, absolutely nothing but the pink stuffing. The sushi at my school(UMKC) has been more filling and tastier than this garbage. What a waste of money. Called them to ask them about the sushi and why it was the way it was, they started talking about the roll and the sauce and then immediately hung up! What the F! Never ordering/eating at this shithole again.

Not good sushi, very disappointed. Only been here once and there’s a reason for that. Do not recommend.

SOTERRIBLE! I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. We purchased a coupon on to try this place. We ordered 4 sushi rolls(not the most expensive ones) and two orders of saki. We were the only people in the restaurant(now i know why!) The sushi rolls came out and were miniature. Four rolls for 2 people is always plenty but here there were like 6pieces and were barely filled. I could’ve easily eaten it all(5’7120lbs) ps-i’m not a sushi snob either. The service was terrible. The woman, who i presume was the owner, wouldn’t look at us or say anything! not one word. She saw that we were looking for her as we were trying to pay the overpriced bill and kept going avoiding us. Finally came back with the original bill and handed to us… still no words. She knew we were looking for it because they charged us $ 10 to use our coupon?! The whole experience was awkward & ridiculous. Priced way over —it was like spending $ 20 for a small McDonalds fry. Never again.

This is the worst place that I’ve ever been. Food is below average, 2star at most. We tried to use groupon but the waitress told us «you have to have more than 4 people»… I hate businesses use this kind of little tricks to cheat people. We paid the full amount and lost the extra $ 20. I don’t think I will bring my friends to go there anymore so of course they get this much of money and lost their customers forever!

This place will not accept Groupons, they will make up excuses to not allow you to use them and will be terribly rude. Went here once and we laughed at our experience! Completely humorous. I felt my wife and I were on a hidden camera show based off of how absurdly rude the waitress and unprofessional the staff was. We even saw a staff member chasing rabbits around the side bushes, I wouldn’t be surprised if they serve that as a meat substitute somehow. Read the rest of the reviews, I kid you not… Truly don’t know how this is still around! You’ve been warned

Had a bad dinner experience tonight. Tried to use a groupon but was told that we couldn’t use it because we didn’t have enough people. We needed 4 people apparently. Total BS. They didn’t even try to explain. They just walked away. The rolls were very loosely rolled and fell apart when we tried to eat them. The soft shell crab tasted burnt as well. The only thing that was good was the seaweed salad. The restaurant was basically empty and for good reason. I would not recommend this place or will I be going back. Waste of money on the groupon. Oh well lesson learned.

Every lukewarm entrée comes with a double helping of bad attitude and a side of indifference. As we sat down, an employee, without saying a word, grabbed the Groupon voucher from my hand, circled the fine print with her red pen and huffed as she stomped off. Seems like we were there too early and though I certainly understand that rules are rules, her response set the tone for the meal. I should have believed the negative reviews of their service and the bland food.

My husband ordered the sushi and it was average. I was craving a hot bowl of udon, so I ordered the nabeyaki udon and it was so awful and completely incorrect. Nabeyaki udon typically has scallion, shitake mushroom, fish, oden(fishcake), and an egg that is cracked on top and poached by the steam of the soup. The udon here was noodles, crab stick, and chinese stir fry vegetables. My husband and I left really disappointed and will absolutely never return.

Warm beer and terrible service. Fish made us sick as well. Won’t be back. Also charged us $ 8 for a $ 4 warm beer(as listed on menu) and couldn’t explain themselves since they don’t know English.

Everyone seems to rate just their sushi. The sushi is good, but their other Asian dishes are VERY good. They have very good fried rice and stir fry dishes. As for their sushi, I would recommend the rainbow roll. The vegetarian sweet potato roll is delicious too. Every time we’ve had their sushi it’s been fresh. The service is a bit lacking hospitality and speed sometimes, but we’ve never had problems with our order or had to send anything back. The«kids menu» is a joke. Almost $ 10 for a children’s entrée is way too much. We usually have plenty of our own to share with the littles. Not our favorite sushi place in the KC metro area, but definitely worth repeat business. It is convenient, has a nice atmosphere, diverse menu, and fresh sushi.

Where to start. I only clicked one star because there is not a zero. As others have confirmed in their reviews the hostess is hostile and cold towards customers. They seated us then made us feel uncomfortable because we were not ordering fast enough. We eventually jumped to order apps to get them away from the table only to have then thrown on the table two minutes later. Kani(Crab) salad is worst in town, seaweed salad just ok, Miso soup had some kind of grit in the bottom of it. We then ordered three rolls and a soft shell crab. The crab still had some guts on it(I watch Bizarre foods so it didn’t bother me, but the wife was not happy). The three rolls were all terrible. Very fishy tasting and just didn’t taste fresh. I am a first responder and had a coupon for a thanks from the community. As I was unfolding it, the waitress yanked it out of my hand and said,“Let me read”. She found an asterisk with some very small print that stated it was only valid if we ordered $ 100.00 worth of food and basically threw it back at me. It’s not their fault I didn’t read the coupon but wow with the customer service. They are the worst but most expensive sushi place in town. Check out Siki(building looks rough but they have unusual items like Uni) or Mint sushi. This place can’t close quick enough. If you want customers, act like it.

I went for lunch and have the three roll lunch special. The rolls were very dry with too much rice. Perhaps next time I will try one of the special roles and ask for last rice.

This place is goddamn terrible if you plan on using a Groupon at all. Don’t even bother going there if you expect to use whatever one you have… they’ll pretend to not know English in order to not honor things even though you meet many requirements stated on the cert. My major issue this time is the expecting of having exactly 4 people, not 3 people who order enough food for 4 or more. Never really had the same server more than once, and they were insistent on making you order within 3 minutes of being seated. I took a couple friends here who hadn’t been there before to use my $ 50 cert which was to expire in a few days. Needless to say, in order to use it they extorted us into ordering more if they were going to honor it. I will be contacting Groupon to get a credit back now that I’ve seen others have been able to do so… Never going here again, I can find tempura, udon bowls, and sushi plenty of other places that aren’t cocks. The only thing I’d miss is the BBQ eel dinner thing at 18(!) bucks… way overpriced for what you get, but actually tasty. None of the décor around the place really matched up with each other either… at least the TVs weren’t blaring this time.

What a horrible experience, first off my wine glass was dirty. Second for it not to be a busy day for this establishment it took the waitress 15 take and pave our order then another 15 to 20 min to brings us or food. Will not ever return to this establishment ever again.

We where there for an hour and thirty mins and the food was very low quality with hardly no flavor. There crab salad just tasted like crab and mayo and the miso soup has was very small and had hardly no seaweed or tofu in it we will not be going back.

SUPERBINMANYWAYS! Classy environment, extremely clean, all fish pieces were individually wrapped and sealed tight at the sushi bar. The food was scrumptious and well balanced — but the staff was fantastic. They were kind, courteous, acted like every customer was a guest in their home. Their pricing was reasonable. This is so much better than any fancy sushi place. It’s now my new fave!!!

This restaurant refused my groupon. They claimed that 2 people need to order 2 entrees in order for them to redeem my groupon. I read the rules carefully before purchasing the groupon and there was no such requirement. The restaurant owner is deceptive and does not follow their own groupon rules nor did offer anything to improve the situation. Beware of this place. They are deceptive business owners and will not hesitate to cheat you out of your money. Stay away from this restaurant.

Had a groupon, arrived with my sister. we chalked the frosty seating up to a language barrier and thought no more of it. We ordered some tempura(tasted ok, small portion) then tried to order dinner. here’s where everything went terribly wrong. We had a groupon, which I think was $ 25 for $ 50 worth of food. we were planning on ordering the big sushi boat which was around 50 dollars, and is the most expensive thing on the menu. My sister and I can eat a lot of sushi so even though the boat says serves four people, we decide to go for it. we order and then show our groupon, and the waitress immediately gets a little short and says we have to have 4 people at the table to redeem. I pointed out that a. the groupon doesn’t say that anywhere and b.) we are ordering 4 people’s worth of food, according to their own menu, so whats the big deal? I asked her if she’d have my husband and brother in law(nearby), neither of whom eats fish at all, sit at the table and watch us without ordering anything — would she serve us then? she says yeah thats fine. OR, she said, we can order another sushi boat and take it home(gross, wtf? who takes sushi home for the next day?) So let me get this straight, you want me to spend almost 100 dollars so that you’ll honor my coupon with you? You can’t be f’ing serious. I ask to talk to the manager and he basically says our business is not wanted unless we call 2 more people to join us. Have it your way. we have never, and will never go back. the service is incredibly rude and stingy, absurdly so. I never even tried the food here, but I can say it’s not worth being treated like, as paying customers, you are just a hassle. Luckily, I called Groupon and let them know the vendor wouldn’t honor their coupon, and Groupon refunded my money, no questions asked. So at least that was nice.
